3ds Max :: Track View - How To Change Layer Order With Shortcuts
Aug 4, 2011
When Googling I found some pages saying that it should be possible to change the order of the layers in Track View with shortcuts, but they don't say how. Can't find anything about this in the customize dialog.
Is there any way to modify the order of the views that have been placed on the drawing sheet? We have a lot of times where we place an assembly view to drive the title block and then place the child components for detailing. Too many time the assembly view gets forgotten until you are done detailing the other parts, now instead of the assembly name showing on that sheet it is the first part you inserted. I would like to be able to select a view and tell Inventor that I would like this view to be the first view instead so I don't have to copy and past everything from one sheet to another. I used to have some code that looked at that first view but I can't find it anymore.
Working on a 28:30 project with 8 hours of footage shot over 13 days. I have seperate bins for each day. Some bins are displaying the clips in reverse order while in thumnail view and I cannot change it to be in sequential order. I've tried sorting it in list view first, but that doesn't work. I have the latest version of Premiere CC.
By default Adobe Photoshop creates new layers on top of the current layer. In the Western languages we read from top to bottom and left to right. So when I start creating a web site in Photoshop I start from top to bottom as well. However Photoshop creates the new layer above the current, which is the opposite of what I would like to do. I need Photoshop to create new layers below the current layer. I know by holding CTRL/COMMAND and clicking the NEW LAYER icon, will do what I need. However if I do CTRL+J to jump/duplicate the current layer, or select a layer and ALT+DRAG again to duplicate it, again it puts the new layers in top. Is there a way to reverse the default order Photoshop places layers? If not, I suggest that to Adobe implement an option in the general settings for Photoshop. Flash for example had similar option to read/place layers from top to bottom or bottom to top.
I'm curious how many of you use note track in the track view/dope sheet? It is running damn slow here, 15sec to add a note track, 30sec adding a note in dopesheet and 1 mins before I could open up the note editor. I doubt it is being useful at all.
Moreover, the infamous Max MotionClip Manager bugs is caused by that... so do you really use it?
I am trying to piece together some code for an ilogic rule. This rule should look for a drawing view that is a flat pattern, if it finds one it should change the object layer to our "CNC" layer.
New to AutoCAD. Â Designing a building in plan. Â Then used the plan to draw a section in new layer, but still in plan view. Â Is there a way to copy that section onto a new layer in front view and erase the old section layer? .
well I was working on my animation, but the toolbars in the curve editor are gone since yesterday. First I tried the "Load Layout" and "Show Toolbars" function. Then I deleted the 3dsmax.ini and Trackview.ini without result. In the end I reinstalled 3ds Max2012 but nothing changed.
I want to save the configuration and state of the Track View in my workspace. So when I start up Max, the Track View opens up in the configuration I had when I last used Max, and/or in my saved workspace. Â Even after I save my custom workspace, it doesn't save the track view. I have to manually open up the track view, dock it the way I want, and open up my custom layouts I had saved in the track view. This takes a lot of time.
Is there a way to get the position parameters for a Biped COM to play with in Track View? All I get are the rotation parameters. If that's not possible I'd like to know a way to manipulate the animation between 2 keyframes. The TCB parameters don't seem to be working for this.
Can I make it so that the undo history in Gimp doesn't track changes tolayer visibility?
(I do a lot of compositing with layers, so I don't really want it to tracklayer visibility changes so I have a nice undo history with only changes Imade to the image.)
I am experiencing a strange issue on a comp I am working with, and due to the way its set up, and the pre-comps etc, I am not even sure how to go about asking the questions! Â 1) To start: Â I have a comp with 3 Footage layers. One 4K Moving background image from Video blocks, interpreted at 25FPS. One R3D clip of one of our ships, camera on a tripod and ship "Waggling" slightly up and down - kept in RAW mode for clean keying. A duplicate of this layer, used as the colour corrected layer. Â I have a Comp that contains the RAW footage, Keyed, and the colour corrected footage below it and set to Alpha matte. Â Above is the settings and the output of the ships wing. Â This is then precomped, and engine glows, contrails and thrusters etc are added with Null objects, lights, optical flares and particular: Â at this point, everything looks great, this is then further precomped into a new comp, where it is placed above the background layer - and here is where the issue happens. It is almost as if the trackmatte is a frame or two behind the colour layer: Â <-- notice the blue edging from the blue screen. Â I track these layers backwards and forwards through the precomps, and I cant figure out why this happens? Â (there are keyframes on the trackers above, and the contrail precomps for position, and a scale change over time on the ship layer in the final comp.) If I pull the ships precomp into the final comp as a new layer - the issue remains. If I double click to open the ship layer, the issue is not visible.
Spent all night working on a more complex "test" of V4 and it appears I ran into an overlay brick wall. My last component is a series of 6 social media-like icons and I only have two overlay tracks. It appears that I can select a group of images to drag to an overlay track but they are applied sequentially. I need them to persist to the end of the video.
Is there a way to layer static images? I see that with shapes and titles I can go hog wild in one overlay.
I'm working in ancient Inventor 2009 and I'm using view representations for all of my .ipn levels. I've accidentally skipped one step and would like to put it in the middle of the others. Is there a way to re-organize the representations. I've attached a picture. I need to insert a representation above the check marked one.
I've got a Profile View style set up just the way I want it. Â The only problem that I have is that the automated fill hatch that I'm using between my existing and finish profiles is showing up behind the grid lines. Â Unfortunately, we use "lines overwrite" as a standard, so I can't just switch to "lines merge". Any way or a setting that would allow me to move the draw order of the fill hatch above the grid lines?
When cutting video shots in sync with a music track how can I remove part of a clip and replace with a new shot. I know there is a replace clip facility but there appears to be no way of editing the new clip. What I would like to do is leave blanks in sync with the music and fill in correct length of shot later. The same question for overlaying video shots of an interview and holding sync when returning to interviewee.
In VideoStudio 6, how does one connect the voice track to the video during the editing process?
My specific issue is that I have to go back and edit material sometimes that precedes the voice track I already have laid down, but when the time frame of the material after my new edit I have to go back and drag the voice track to the proper location. I would like to be able to permanently "attach" the voice track to the specific video clip and have it follow that clip as it is moved, time wise, during the editing process.
Is there a means to make this happen?
PS - I realize there is a work around way - just publish each clip and then rebuild the final project but that is NOT what I want to do.
I can't change the keyboard shortcuts in max. If i change them and restart max, the changes a revert. The problem is, that max stores some config files into &#xPr;ogramFiles%, but a normal user (without admin rights) can't write to files there.
e.g.: DefaultUI.clrx and DefaultUI.kbdx are stored into: C:Program FilesAutodesk3ds Max 2013en-USUI
3dsmax.exe gets a "ACCESS DENIED" from the OS but this error would be silently ignored IMHO the error should be raised, so that the user knows about unsaved settings...
For this i have created:URL....
Everyone can reproduce this behaviour with process monitor from sysinternals. You will see this:
I see that you can split the audio from the video. Can you do the reverse and link the audio back into the video say after you split, cut and mute an off camera scream? It would just make it easier to add clips before the edited one, although it's not all that hard to sync things up.
I want to change the shortcuts for osnap on/off (default F3) and ortho on/off (default F8 ) to either F1 and F2, or some letter like q and w, or ctrl+w and ctrl+e.
I cant find them under cui-->all commands. Don´t know if they are there somewhere.
Is it possible to change them to either of the above shortcuts?
I prefer F1 and F2 if it´s possible, then q and w and last if neither of the other two is possible ctrl+w and ctrl+e.
