Feb 11, 2014I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?

Jan 21, 2013I appear to have come across a bug after updating Photoshop to latest version. This has happened on two of my machines.
Basically, if I set my font size to say, 12px and then scale this bigger with transform tools making it huge in size. When I click back on it with the type tool, it still tells me the size is 12 px. Even if I then change this to say 6px, it will downsize the huge font to half of its size and not down to 6px.
Just an addition to this, I just reinstalled Photoshop, tried the above before updating and it worked as you'd expect. When scaled the type up using transform and then clicked on the type it would say it was 152.8 for example. If changed it back to 12, it changed back to 12.
Updated my Photoshop to latest update, scaled it up and clicked, said it was still 12pt. Very confusing, but has to be an issue with the update.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Arial Type Stencil Font?
Feb 21, 2012I need it to be a Sans-serif font, similar to arial type, but with the cutouts needed for stenciling. I also need numbers included. In fact, i dont even need letters, I just need numbers.
Everything I have found is either a serif style font, or doesn't include numbers.

Aug 21, 2012I'm trying to extrude some text with the font type "CommercialScript BT". In Inventor 2011 this was not a problem. In Inventor 2012 and 2013 I get the error:
Create extruded feature failed
Part4: Errors occurred during update
Extrusion3: Could not build this Extrusion
Self-intersecting loop found in this profile. Remove the intersection by adding a sketch point at curve intersections or by changing non-profile geometry to construction geometry.
Is there a way to solve this? I have tried to extrude other fonts without any problem. I can also extrude one single letter with the font "CommercialScript BT" without any problem but as soon as I writes a word I get the error.

Photoshop :: Adobe Font Folio (Open Type) - Which Fonts Are Actually Useful?
May 26, 2007I have the Adobe Font Folio (Open Type) but I don't know where to start. I do a lot of small ads and so I use a lot of small type.
Does anyone know which fonts in this pack are good for small type? Maybe something thick that will look better at a smaller font size.
I've tried going through the fonts by highlighting the font name in the box and using the arrow keys to rifle through them, but as you know, it highlights what's on the page, making it near to impossible to see how the font would actually look if it weren't highlighted.
AutoCad :: Create Some Mtext Using A Type Font Named ISOCPEUR
Jul 16, 2013In 2008, one could create some Mtext using a type font named ISOCPEUR and type of line of text. One could then go to the Express Tools/text/explode text function. That would explode the text and one could then manipulate it so that one had a bunch of letters that were polylines. One could then extrude the polylines and either add or subtract them from a solid and create either recessed or proud lettering on a part. That meant you could mark a casting or a molded part just like in the real world.
But in the fully advanced, super dooper, state-of-the-art, fantasmagorical (sp) AutoCAD 2013, if one goes to Express Tools and selects the explode function, the command TXTEXP is not recognized as a valid command.
Photoshop :: CS6 Crashes When Type Tool Accesses Font Preview Menu?
Oct 12, 2012I installed a bunch of fonts and ever since then Photoshop has been crashing when the font preview menu is accessed with the type tool. So I deleted all fonts except for the required system fonts I believe. But it still crashes when I access the font preview menu. I can't provide a crash log now.

Jun 10, 2010Last week I installed a new True Type Font in Windows, so that our drawing title blocks comply to our company standards. I noticed that when checked in into the Vault, the title block containing the new font doesn't display correctly. It shows the new font, but it's distorted; it's bigger, and the letters are too close to eachother. When printing from the Vault, this doesn't change, it's exactly what Vault shows. (See attachments). Also when publishing from within Inventor (File --> Export --> Export to DWF) the font gets distorted.
Posted this message in the Vault-forum, but according to Autodesk it's an Inventor related issue.
Our non-Cad-people are complaining about this, because it's non-compliant to our standards... How can I correct this matter?

Feb 7, 2014I just installed CS6. I have found a resizing problem that seems to exist relating to both objecgts and type.
For example, I was changing the leading in some text. I typed in 11.8 and the next thing I know the leading is set as 2 pts. I have changed other thiings within the text window and had the type rescale its width. It is a bit like "whack-a-mole" in that you fix one thing and it resets something else.
When I have typed in numbers to proportionately resize an object, the next thing I know, the computer makes it much smaller. If I hit command-Z to try to get back to where I started, it resizes it in even increments (like .125" or something).
Is this some kind of maddening helper function (like the spelling correction in mail program) that can be turned off?
AutoCAD 2010 :: Multiple Selection Of Objects By One Type
May 11, 2012 My question is, if there any tool /command, utility in autocad to select all objects of one type at one time : for example all text objects or all dimention objects if these objects on different layers and have different properties. in my work I have to insert many blocks(not annotative) or parts of drawings which were created by other people and have different from mine settings and properties of text and dimention objects. the insertions add so many layers and objects that I spend lots of time to correct them and to figure it out.
is there any way( command, utility) to select and manage all of these objects at one time?
P.S.i think it is very unconvenient that the plain autocad does not have dimentions and text as families or some sort of groups that s easy to manage.
CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Objects Only Snap To One Type Of Guide At One Time?
Jan 15, 2013Not sure if this is expected behavior but I've found that it's only possible to snap to one type of guide/grid at any given time.
For example if you want to snap to a guideline in the horizontal and the pixel grid in the vertical, you won't be able to. Instead, the snap will work on the guide and completely ignore the pixel grid.

Sep 9, 2013I have a Nikon D800 (software up to date) and bought Lr 5 yesterday (software up to date). Watcehd Julieanne Kost TV series on Lr, very informative. I want edit my photographs with Capture NX 2 launching it from within Lr 5. Julieanne explained how to launch Photoshop and I have changed the settings in the dropdown menu for 'photo' to Cature Nx 2 and browsed to find it on my program list. It is now set as the editing program, but does not allow me to chamnge the file type to NEF, which is the filetype I want to use. I bought Lr 5 because the D800 was listed as a compatible camera for Lr 5.
