Nov 8, 2013 I work with PDFs generated in AutoCAD.When opening these files in Illustrator, the default font is always set to Myriad Pro.
How can I substitute my desired font for Myriad when opening EXISTING files, short of copy/pasting into a new file? That workaround is just as time-consuming as resetting the font every time I work on a new document.Illustrator has to be referencing something when defaulting to this font. It seems unbelievable that this setting cannot be altered.

Dec 13, 2012If I transform a type with the transform tool or "command t" the font size displayed when highlighted doesn't update to larger font size. If the layer is selected the correct font size is displayed. I updated a coworkers's photoshop and he experienced the same issue.

Jan 21, 2013I appear to have come across a bug after updating Photoshop to latest version. This has happened on two of my machines.
Basically, if I set my font size to say, 12px and then scale this bigger with transform tools making it huge in size. When I click back on it with the type tool, it still tells me the size is 12 px. Even if I then change this to say 6px, it will downsize the huge font to half of its size and not down to 6px.
Just an addition to this, I just reinstalled Photoshop, tried the above before updating and it worked as you'd expect. When scaled the type up using transform and then clicked on the type it would say it was 152.8 for example. If changed it back to 12, it changed back to 12.
Updated my Photoshop to latest update, scaled it up and clicked, said it was still 12pt. Very confusing, but has to be an issue with the update.

May 26, 2007I have the Adobe Font Folio (Open Type) but I don't know where to start. I do a lot of small ads and so I use a lot of small type.
Does anyone know which fonts in this pack are good for small type? Maybe something thick that will look better at a smaller font size.
I've tried going through the fonts by highlighting the font name in the box and using the arrow keys to rifle through them, but as you know, it highlights what's on the page, making it near to impossible to see how the font would actually look if it weren't highlighted.

Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.

Aug 21, 2012I'm trying to extrude some text with the font type "CommercialScript BT". In Inventor 2011 this was not a problem. In Inventor 2012 and 2013 I get the error:

Part4: Errors occurred during update
Extrusion3: Could not build this Extrusion
Self-intersecting loop found in this profile. Remove the intersection by adding a sketch point at curve intersections or by changing non-profile geometry to construction geometry.
Is there a way to solve this? I have tried to extrude other fonts without any problem. I can also extrude one single letter with the font "CommercialScript BT" without any problem but as soon as I writes a word I get the error.

AutoCad :: Create Some Mtext Using A Type Font Named ISOCPEUR
Jul 16, 2013In 2008, one could create some Mtext using a type font named ISOCPEUR and type of line of text. One could then go to the Express Tools/text/explode text function. That would explode the text and one could then manipulate it so that one had a bunch of letters that were polylines. One could then extrude the polylines and either add or subtract them from a solid and create either recessed or proud lettering on a part. That meant you could mark a casting or a molded part just like in the real world.
But in the fully advanced, super dooper, state-of-the-art, fantasmagorical (sp) AutoCAD 2013, if one goes to Express Tools and selects the explode function, the command TXTEXP is not recognized as a valid command.

May 30, 2012I had posted in another thread about wanting to clean up a signature and make it look more font like. I tried that and it seemed to be pretty difficult due to the amount of random in a hand written signature.
So I think I'd like to approach this from the other direction. I have a font I like but I don't want it to look like the font (way too common). Is there a way to alter the font (not the entire font set or even to create a new font but just for a one word Logo)?
I'd ideally like to connect two of the letters and also modify the shapes of the letters just a bit.

Jun 10, 2010Last week I installed a new True Type Font in Windows, so that our drawing title blocks comply to our company standards. I noticed that when checked in into the Vault, the title block containing the new font doesn't display correctly. It shows the new font, but it's distorted; it's bigger, and the letters are too close to eachother. When printing from the Vault, this doesn't change, it's exactly what Vault shows. (See attachments). Also when publishing from within Inventor (File --> Export --> Export to DWF) the font gets distorted.
Posted this message in the Vault-forum, but according to Autodesk it's an Inventor related issue.
Our non-Cad-people are complaining about this, because it's non-compliant to our standards... How can I correct this matter?
