CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Resizing Font Changes It In Another Type
Dec 20, 2013
In Coreldrawx6 64bit when i resize the font, change the font in another type. How is possible this? This problem is typing measure in top toolbar, not if i resize manually. I post a sequence about this problem.
Figure 1) The text CdC is a Courier10 BT and Laboratory i Clarendon BT
Figure 2) I change measure in top and fonts change all graphic.
I tried Nexus font (finally) and don't see why people have mentioned it. I don't like it and uninstalled it quickly.Which font manager do you think is better than Font Nav?
Is there a way in CorelDRAW, that the resize option, the one we do by pulling all the arrows from the corners, offsets the objects equally. If I copy paste and resize the rectangle it does unequal offsets. I know the contour command, but is there any way to customize the resize command?
Once upon a time a professional told me to import images to corel in the correct resolution and not to downsize them within corel because the quality will be worse then. Is this really true? Or is it no problem to downsize any image or upsize an image that has a big DPI?
When I create something with an outline, the outline will increase or decrease in thickness as I resize the image. So if I have something at say 10" X 10" at 4pt outline, when I resize it to 2" X 2" the outline is like 5X thicker and messes everything up.
Is there a way to combine or something with a vector so the outline auto changes or never changes thickness when resizing the graphic?
What causes corel to crash when resizing or nudging text? And is there a way to prevent this. We are running X5 with newest SP. On brand new windows 7 64bit Quad Core AMD, 6GB ram.
I'm working with drawings that have (for example) 1,000 little circles with diameter 1.5mm. I'd like to resize all of them to, say, 2.0mm but I don't want to scale them as this will affect their distance from each other.
Macros: I have tried recording the adjustments on one object but I'm unable to run the macro on another - the macro errors out.
Find/Replace objects: I don't see any options involving object dimensions (although I can "Find All" of my objects by shape or fill).
I have a quick question corel X5, I have a design made of several .4 inch circles, I wonder if there is a way to resize all the circles to .6 inch ( i am trying to avoid to resize manually each circle )
After intalling my new mouse (Logitech Corded Mouse M500) scrolling/resizing makes the image disappear in a short time 2-3 minutes. I read about it in older versions, only happens with this mouse.
How can I fix it? I've just brought the mouse, seems very good, the older one is unuseable (lacks accurancy due the cheap IR sensor).
I am drawing pictures for the Second life game. I need that the file I export to be exactly 512 X 512 pixel, and TGA format. Of course, the objects in the picture are small, and don't use al the 512X512 space. But even when objects don't use all the space, I need my "small objects within the 512X512 size file.
Although my picture is, in corel draw 512 X 512, when I export to TGA , I have no the good results.I use yhe File/export/menu and define TGA Bitmap for format.
On the following menu,
if I click on "Maintain original size", Objects remains with original size, but the file size is reduced to fit around the objects..
If I click on "Maintain aspect ratio",, I can fix the size file to 512X512, , but the objects are streched to fill the 512X512 file.
The only way I found to avoid resizing is adding a 512X512 transparent object on the background, but I wonder if there is a better way to do it.
When I copy and paste a pdf document into Corel Draw, it seems as the default size of the pasted object reflects anywhere from 23" (left to right) & 17" (top to bottom) = 23"x17". After selecting the object, & entering an object size of 8" x 11", the document then resizes to 2"x3". So, then I always have to enter the 8"x11" again for it to finally accept that size - which it always does, but on the 2nd time trying.
I use CorelDraw X4 to design CD covers that need Devanagari characters. However I found that using fonts like Mangal (which is used for devanagari in MSOffice) is not supported - the double-consonants are displayed incorrectly. how to type in Devanagari in CDR X4?
I am new to Corel Draw. How do I arc font? I have a customer that wants some writting arced above her logo and below her logo. The only way I know how is to creat a circle and "Fit Text To Path". But then I can't seem to delete the circle without erasing the writting as well.
As part of a "kit", I need to export my files to 8 different file types. I've never really checked the .ai file type before as to how it appears. I did, however, tonight and found awful results. When I import my .ai file back in it looks awful. I'll post samples so you can see.... How to fix this on export? (How to upload both files so the one you see below is the result of the .ai export)
If I create some text and change it from the default size (24 pt) to 14 pt and then rotate it, the size changes to the default point size (24 pt, I have even seen it do ~17.54)
I have more than 1000 installed on an xp system. I know I don't need this many. I'm sure I could get by with 400 or less. How do you thin down your fonts? How many do you try to keep on your system?
What are you using for font management? Bit stream? Something else?
Current System: i3 3.07ghz, 3gb ram, Windows 7 32 bit with all updates and X6
I am trying to set the cut lines around a font that is an outline font and I can't get it to work - the outline just turns into the cut line and doesn't cut the font that I need.
I have had this problem since I loaded CorelDRAW X6 (64-bit) in June, 2012 but was busy learning all that was new since the ancient version running on my equally ancient Windows98 machine. Up until this point, I have tried all of the directions in the manual, this forum and on the website which includes, "Save Settings As Default". (These instructions do not differ from those I use in the old CD package only where I make them.)
These are the steps taken:
Open CorelDRAW X6 starting a new file.
Go to "Text Properties" Docker & choose the font, size, etc.
Under Tools, select "Save Settings As Default", close CDX6.
Technically, these steps should have saved the new font with associated choices for all future files until I change them again, but it does not. When I open a new or existing file, my new font changes do appear on the Text docker so I choose the outlined A on the toolbox bar, my choices are still showing on the Text docker and now, also on the Property bar. As soon as I click on the workspace where the flashing cursor awaits input, the text properties change to Arial, 24 pt, which has appeared since I first loaded the package. Should I redownload and reinstall the software? If so, where are the preference files so I can save them?
My font navigator used to install the font automatically if I have it on the system but it wasn't installed. It has quit doing that. It tells me I'm missing the font then I have to manually go to the navigator and install it then open the file again. I've had this happen on multiple systems and versions of corel. I'm currently running X5 on Vista-64.
Just to clarify. When I open a file that I don't have the font installed for it will bring up a dialog box that says missing fonts. See screen shot below. The part that says install from Font Navigator is Grey and I can't select it no matter what. I have to take note of what fonts are missing then open font navigator, load them in and then re open the file. It worked fine a couple of weeks ago and then just quit.
I seem to vaguely recall a method from some vector drawing program where you can press or hold ctrl or alt or shift and change the next type of node you will draw while using the bezier tool, or the pen tool, or the multi-line tool.
Is there any way to do this in 12, or use VBA to make it happen. I really just need to switch back and fourth between cusp and symmetrical.
What's the easiest way to determine if an Open Type font is enhanced with ligatures, optional caps, etc? I have not found any means other than to open each one individually and try to implement the features.
I have an arc shape that I'm trying to fill with a gradient-type blend where it will be 0% spot on the lower left side gradually going around to 100% spot on the lower right side. The example I have attached shows the shape on the left with a conical fountain just to give an idea of something close, but it won't actually work for my shape. I also attached a cdr X5 file which contains a blend I was working on, but can't seem to get it to work (that is the shape on the right). I tried cutting it in half which works, but I still can't get it.
