Jul 31, 2013In a lab the students get this kind of graphs to later be processed in an axial system: a grayed pencil draw, very delicate, with all the imperfections in weight, intensity, etc.
We need to obtain an uniform line (a solid one, without gray variations, same weight, etc)
Autotrace seems the best tools although the results appear a little irregular. What could be the best approach as we have hundreds to process?
Beginning with the scanning (more resolution?) and processing firstly in Photoshop?
Illustrator :: How To Change Type Insertion Point Vs Type Tool Cursor Position
Feb 11, 2014I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?

Mar 18, 2013My Type Tool does not select type by double clicking or click and drag. (Windows CS 5 V15.1). This is what I have tried so far and the problem still exists.
Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it.
Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it.
Trashed my Prefeerences. Didn't fix it.

Jul 2, 2012Working on a poster in Illustrator. Have added area type, using the type tool. Now I'd like to increase the size of one line. I can't select or edit any of the type with the type tool. I moved the type to a new layer, saved, closed Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4). Looked in preferences, in case there's an issue there. No luck.
By the way, I also don't see handles when in the selection tool any more. Don't know if that's related.
Photoshop :: Font Size - Type Scaling With 13.0.2
Dec 13, 2012If I transform a type with the transform tool or "command t" the font size displayed when highlighted doesn't update to larger font size. If the layer is selected the correct font size is displayed. I updated a coworkers's photoshop and he experienced the same issue.

Jan 21, 2013I appear to have come across a bug after updating Photoshop to latest version. This has happened on two of my machines.
Basically, if I set my font size to say, 12px and then scale this bigger with transform tools making it huge in size. When I click back on it with the type tool, it still tells me the size is 12 px. Even if I then change this to say 6px, it will downsize the huge font to half of its size and not down to 6px.
Just an addition to this, I just reinstalled Photoshop, tried the above before updating and it worked as you'd expect. When scaled the type up using transform and then clicked on the type it would say it was 152.8 for example. If changed it back to 12, it changed back to 12.
Updated my Photoshop to latest update, scaled it up and clicked, said it was still 12pt. Very confusing, but has to be an issue with the update.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Arial Type Stencil Font?
Feb 21, 2012I need it to be a Sans-serif font, similar to arial type, but with the cutouts needed for stenciling. I also need numbers included. In fact, i dont even need letters, I just need numbers.
Everything I have found is either a serif style font, or doesn't include numbers.
Illustrator :: Omens Regular Font Converted To Chinese Font
Sep 24, 2013After opening a file from another designer, this Chinese font has taken over my "omens – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.

Aug 21, 2012I'm trying to extrude some text with the font type "CommercialScript BT". In Inventor 2011 this was not a problem. In Inventor 2012 and 2013 I get the error:
Create extruded feature failed
Part4: Errors occurred during update
Extrusion3: Could not build this Extrusion
Self-intersecting loop found in this profile. Remove the intersection by adding a sketch point at curve intersections or by changing non-profile geometry to construction geometry.
Is there a way to solve this? I have tried to extrude other fonts without any problem. I can also extrude one single letter with the font "CommercialScript BT" without any problem but as soon as I writes a word I get the error.

Photoshop :: Adobe Font Folio (Open Type) - Which Fonts Are Actually Useful?
May 26, 2007I have the Adobe Font Folio (Open Type) but I don't know where to start. I do a lot of small ads and so I use a lot of small type.
Does anyone know which fonts in this pack are good for small type? Maybe something thick that will look better at a smaller font size.
I've tried going through the fonts by highlighting the font name in the box and using the arrow keys to rifle through them, but as you know, it highlights what's on the page, making it near to impossible to see how the font would actually look if it weren't highlighted.
AutoCad :: Create Some Mtext Using A Type Font Named ISOCPEUR
Jul 16, 2013In 2008, one could create some Mtext using a type font named ISOCPEUR and type of line of text. One could then go to the Express Tools/text/explode text function. That would explode the text and one could then manipulate it so that one had a bunch of letters that were polylines. One could then extrude the polylines and either add or subtract them from a solid and create either recessed or proud lettering on a part. That meant you could mark a casting or a molded part just like in the real world.
But in the fully advanced, super dooper, state-of-the-art, fantasmagorical (sp) AutoCAD 2013, if one goes to Express Tools and selects the explode function, the command TXTEXP is not recognized as a valid command.

For example, the document I'm working with contains CourierStd and CourierStd-Bold which are not installed on my system. I would like to set Illustrator so that any time a document that contains these fonts is opened, Courier New and Courier New Bold are substituted automatically.

Jun 10, 2010Last week I installed a new True Type Font in Windows, so that our drawing title blocks comply to our company standards. I noticed that when checked in into the Vault, the title block containing the new font doesn't display correctly. It shows the new font, but it's distorted; it's bigger, and the letters are too close to eachother. When printing from the Vault, this doesn't change, it's exactly what Vault shows. (See attachments). Also when publishing from within Inventor (File --> Export --> Export to DWF) the font gets distorted.
Posted this message in the Vault-forum, but according to Autodesk it's an Inventor related issue.
Our non-Cad-people are complaining about this, because it's non-compliant to our standards... How can I correct this matter?

Apr 15, 2013I choose the vertical type tool or the vertical type on a path tool or the vertical area type tool...and all I get are letters that are rotated 90 degrees clockwise that go down in a vertical line. The effect is the same as if I took one of these lines that I am typeing here and rotated the entire line 90 degrees clockwise. That is not the effect I want. I am tying to get vertical letters stacked on top of one another in a line going vertical. I watched videos and they simply pick the tool and it functions this way, but when I pick the same tool I do not get this vertical orientation of the individual letters, but the 90 degree rotated letter.
