AutoCAD Inventor :: True Type Font Displays Incorrectly After Publishing To DWF

Jun 10, 2010

Last week I installed a new True Type Font in Windows, so that our drawing title blocks comply to our company standards. I noticed that when checked in into the Vault, the title block containing the new font doesn't display correctly. It shows the new font, but it's distorted; it's bigger, and the letters are too close to eachother. When printing from the Vault, this doesn't change, it's exactly what Vault shows. (See attachments). Also when publishing from within Inventor (File --> Export --> Export to DWF) the font gets distorted.

Posted this message in the Vault-forum, but according to Autodesk it's an Inventor related issue.

Our non-Cad-people are complaining about this, because it's non-compliant to our standards... How can I correct this matter?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: 2013 Profile View - Grid Displays Incorrectly

Oct 28, 2013

After upgrading from 2013 to 2014 we have a few drawings that had profiles created in 2013 and now when we open the drawing in 2014 the profile view disappears and so we regen and then we get a fatal error. I ran an audit and there are no errors, I re-sycronized the surfaces, i also ran an audit on all the xreferences.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: 2013 Profile View - Grid Displays Incorrectly

Oct 18, 2013

We are having an issue with profile grid shooting off to the left of 0+00 rather than starting at 0+00 and stopping at the end of the profile.  There is nothing in the settings that I can find that is telling the grid to extend close to 2000' to the left. Three of the four profiles are doing this.  One of them displays correctly, but there are no differences that we can find in the settings.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Plot Sheet Drawing - Xref Displays Incorrectly

Jul 8, 2013

When I bring an xref drawing (floor plan) into a plot sheet drawing the xref does not display properly.  Walls at doors are not removed and have jambs and door in what appears to be 'reflected screened' view.  Switching to 'reflected' view, walls not removed, jambs and doors, and windows still showing.

I may have inadvertently changed some of the settings in the display manager, is there any way to restore the defaults here without reloading the program?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: New Part Builder Pipe Displays Incorrectly In Profile View?

Dec 31, 2013

Using part builder, I created a new pipe part for an odd-sized CMP arch pipe.  In plan view, the pipe looks good.  At first glance, I thought the pipe was drawn correctly in a profile view, but I realized that the pipe was displayed with the invert located at the wrong place in the profile view.  I thought this was because the insertion point of the new pipe part that I had made was placed at the incorrect location in part builder.

So, I swapped out the incorrect pipe size for another one that I knew was correct, and then deleted the incorrect pipe from the pipe parts list, and  went back to part builder, and placed the insertion point at the invert of the pipe; then saved the edited pipe part, ran partcatalogregen, added the "corrected" pipe part to the pipe parts list and swapped in the new corrected pipe size to the pipe network.  However, the pipe still displays incorrrectly on the profile view.

The pipe data is correct in the pipe properties: the invert is stated to be located at elevation 20.  The overall height of the pipe , 38" (3.1667') is correctly displayed on the profile view.  But the actual location of the pipe invert is not shown at the correct location, elevation 20, on the profile view.

GIMP :: Using Tile To Make Array Then Displays Incorrectly In Weebly

Aug 31, 2012

I've been using Tile to create an array from a jpeg image to use as a background for a website I'm building using Weebly. The original images display fine in Weebly, and when I use Tile to create the array the resulting image looks flawless in GIMP and in the picture viewer on my desktop. However, when the image is uploaded to Weebly it displays as though the original layer has been duplicated in GIMP and tiled manually and badly, i.e. leaving white space along edges, incorrect alignment of tiles.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Default True Type Handling In PDF Print Drivers

Dec 14, 2011

By default, the PDF print drivers we use (Bluebeam, PDF 995) set True Type text handling to be "as graphics" rather than "as text" (see below), which makes for some ugly text.  I know I can make this change and save as a .PC3 file, but all our page setups for sheets & templates in the office all reference these default drivers, so it would be preferable to change the way the default driver works if possible.  Is the default plotter configuration editable?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Extrude Text With Specific Font Type

Aug 21, 2012

I'm trying to extrude some text with the font type "CommercialScript BT". In Inventor 2011 this was not a problem. In Inventor 2012 and 2013 I get the error:

Create extruded feature failed
Part4: Errors occurred during update
Extrusion3: Could not build this Extrusion

Self-intersecting loop found in this profile.  Remove the intersection by adding a sketch point at curve intersections or by changing non-profile geometry to construction geometry.

Is there a way to solve this? I have tried to extrude other fonts without any problem. I can also extrude one single letter with the font "CommercialScript BT" without any problem but as soon as I writes a word I get the error.

I recently had to unistall and re-install my software, but now when I open up our logo, the font color is gray instead of black. This is the same for the model space, viewport, and print-outs.  All of the views are the same as before, as well adn the set color to black.

I opened the same file in PS 5.5 and the font size was reported correctly and was not fuzzy.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Missing Font - Publishing To PDF Fails

Am publishing dwgs / saving as .pdfs / Preview looks good, but when I plot, one line of text appears as series of dots and the error msg from Adobe is close to "Cannot find ArialMT font, some text may not format or print correctly...."

My co-workers have no problem publishing these same dwgs from their workstations, however.  Also, there are several text objects / boxes in the dwg, and they all print fine 'except' for the one.

Restarting etc., doesn't make any difference.  Neither does plotting in Preview or Draft and so on.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Using True Type Fonts When Printing Some Text?

Sep 25, 2012

issues using True Type Fonts when printing some text through CorelDraw x6. Basically I do screen printing, and I have issues printing TTF's... The text when it prints out chops letters/adds spacing where its not needed, and towards the end of the sheet of vellum - starts to print the first letter of word on the left over again...

I haven't had issues printing off of my HP printer, but that broke so I invested in a BROTHER HL-2230 monochrome laser printer.

Photoshop :: Characters Panel Displays Multiple Copies Of Font Styles / CS6

Jul 20, 2012

I see numerous redundant copies of every font family style listed when I select a font family STYLE of any typeface, such as Helvetica or Arial, for example.

Throughout the day the list increases copies of each style exponentially by the hour. At the end of the day I am scrolling through 98 copies of Helvetica Bold to get to the next style, like Black. There should only be one Helv. Bold, one Black, one Condensed, and so on.

My fonts are cleaned and organized frequently with any corrupted fonts being removed immediately. I use FontExplorer X, Font Doctor and other type apps to manage fonts because FontBook is still retarded.

AutoCad :: Create Some Mtext Using A Type Font Named ISOCPEUR

Jul 16, 2013

In 2008, one could create some Mtext using a type font named ISOCPEUR and type of line of text. One could then go to the Express Tools/text/explode text function. That would explode the text and one could then manipulate it so that one had a bunch of letters that were polylines. One could then extrude the polylines and either add or subtract them from a solid and create either recessed or proud lettering on a part. That meant you could mark a casting or a molded part just like in the real world.

But in the fully advanced, super dooper, state-of-the-art, fantasmagorical (sp) AutoCAD 2013, if one goes to Express Tools and selects the explode function, the command TXTEXP is not recognized as a valid command.

Is there a way to publish a part to the content center with a true/false parameter? I made a rule to designate what true and false means but when I publish it to the content center I want to be able to choose whether it's true or false and it doesn't seem to be working. I also tried to publish without the T/F parameter and then after placing it just change the T/F parameter but I cannot change any parameter of a part that I placed from the content center.reciated.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Publishing To Content Center

Jul 24, 2013

I just created an empty Fastenal Library, and it is set to Read/Write.  We order most of our fasteners from them, but not much else, so I used "Copy Category Structure To" Fastenal.  I created a plain washer to add to the library, but when I try to publish it, I can't get it to work.

When I "Publish Part," I select Fastenal and English, then am asked to select a category to publish to.  The Washers folder is greyed out, along with most other folders, but the Ball sub folder is not.  I can't select Plain, which is what I need, but I can select Ball.

Also, is there a way to delete sub folders?  I right click on Pins or Rivets, and the option to Delete Category is greyed out.
