Inventor is displaying the "male symbol" instead of a carriage return. It only does this once in a while, maybe once in 50 dimension edits, and if I edit the dimension again, backspace out the return and replace it then it will display correctly.
I'm using a Quadro 600 with an AutoDesk certified driver. Memory isn't pegged, only using half of my installed 8GB. Bug?
Noticed this in R2013? Not bothering to check with 2014 yet as I don't really use it.I have three vports. TL is Profile view, TR is SV and other is 3d.
There seems to be slight difference between the pipes in the profile/sections compared with the Structure pipe crossing.
All styles are set for External walls, when swapped to internal this is still incorrect. All pipes are same size & part and are Horizontal. Sections / alignment is taken along centre of pipework.
I have a problem with fonts from 2.8 version . Some fonts are displayed incorrectly, ie. than otherwise would be.

Is there any function in the program that will let me embed the correct (AdobeRGB) profile to the photos, preferably without re-compressing them?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have an assembly with two similar items in it and have written code to replace the component based on a given selection. If I try to change item one, nothing happens. If I change items two, it changes both item two as well as item one. In the attached screenshot item one should have a full cover panel and item two should be open; however, they are both the same. I have stabilized the browser by changing the names to "Leg One:1" and Leg Two:1) and the components that are being replaced are standard assemblies to be replaces with other standard assemblies.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWith all the service packs and updates installed 2012 still fails to sometimes recognize frame members properly. Not only is the frame mitre being ignored, the frame was never as long as the idw is showing. It was only as long as the edge. I have spent hours deleting and re-created the frame, views and even completely re-created the drawing but why it's doing this. 2010, 2011 & 2012 have all had frame generator bugs.

Last week I installed a new True Type Font in Windows, so that our drawing title blocks comply to our company standards. I noticed that when checked in into the Vault, the title block containing the new font doesn't display correctly. It shows the new font, but it's distorted; it's bigger, and the letters are too close to eachother. When printing from the Vault, this doesn't change, it's exactly what Vault shows. (See attachments). Also when publishing from within Inventor (File --> Export --> Export to DWF) the font gets distorted.
Posted this message in the Vault-forum, but according to Autodesk it's an Inventor related issue.
Our non-Cad-people are complaining about this, because it's non-compliant to our standards... How can I correct this matter?

I have tried a lot selecting options in "tools" and "preferences" but I can't locate where the option for displaying "history tree" is located.
See the jpeg: 1.345 is a regular dimension, .875 is a hole note. The hole note is wrong.
(the part doesn’t have to be scrapped. It can be dis assembled, sent back for rework, refinished and reassembled.)
I wish to find out why Inventor 2012 simply refuses to display that main edge tha's on top..
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have attached a screen shot. I created this base plate as A572-50 steel and it is displayed as galvanized. The only thing on this assembly that is from the content center are the bolted connections and a few pieces of A53 pipe that is not shown in the image. All of the other parts and sub- assembly's and their parts are created with their appropriate grade of steel and also displayed as Galvanized. When they are place into the same assembly their materials and display are exactly like they are on the part level itself.
When I place the base plate from my project the initial preview of the the part shows it to be as it is in the part itself, A572-50 and galvanized. The problem comes when you actually drop it in the assembly. The material of the part is reverted to the Steel, Galvanized and is displayed as Generic. This causes a problem in my BOM and then some.
Looking at using ilogic to display and populate a custom field of available finishes for my products.. I'm using the InputListBox message box and its working BUT I would like to know how to make the actual list box larger (wider to be exact).

I have Inventor 2012. When I open a file of a part or assembly that had been modeled the piece is displayed not centered nor fully visible. I have changed the document settings for modeled part to make the displayed area larger that the default 3.937" wide x 1.969" high which sort of works sometimes.
The model Origin seems to be centered while the modeled part is displayed off the screen. Is there a setting to have the model file open with the geometry extents displayed and centered? The thumbnail for the file looks correct. It seems like the template files would control this feature.
With the new install of 2013, the stress contours are not displayed on the part. The part is blank, but the scale is displayed. Settings in Display Contour Shading or Stress Anylisis Settings have no effect. see attached screen plot.

Recently we have switched from VBA to iLogic code. We have stripped out all of the VBA code, but when parts and assemblies are opening there is a big delay and the words "Loading VBA Project" is displayed at the bottom of Inventor.
Is iLogic or some facet of Inventor 2012 still using VBA Projects? If not, then can I disable this to shorten the amount of time it takes to open models? If possible how would I do this?

I am trying to add some text to the face of the part, no issues other than the projected edges are displayed as well, can the projected stuff be hidden?
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I tried to make a table-driven I-feature of a few drilling paterns.
I want to use this for drawing steel manifolds. The I-feature is used to insert standard drilling paterns, for example a patern to fit a standard flange.
The only problem is, for the thread I used the thread feature, otherwise it doesn't show up in the I-feature.
But when I make a drawing of a part were this I-feature is used, the specification of the thread doesn't show up when I create a hole table, because in the I-feature, the thread is a separate feature.
We have the following problem (on AIS2010): we often recycle existing designs with small changes/adapting, means: the (sub)assembly is saved with a new name and part number, and the subcomponents that need to be changed, get a new part number and file name too. So we save a copy, save the parts need changes and then replace the "old" parts in the new assy.
Doing so unfortunately retains the "name" of the component in the model browser tree. Why is that in the first place.
But I'm trying to write a macro that resets the dspalyed names in the browser.
What I found so far, is that under BrowserNodeDefinition, there's a Label property which contains the displayed name, and this does not get changed when the part is replaced. So I thought, I can just compare these BrowserNodeDefinition.Labels with the actual file names and forge a new Label from the new name and the sequence number, however, the BrowserNodeDefinition object is read only, can't be changed.
I haven't found anything else that would contain this name that is displayed in the browser.

I would like to change the way a linetype appears for a specific part, globally throughout my drawing package. How is this done?
I am currently selecting the part in the model tree in the browser and changing it that way, but I have to do it on multiple views, for multiple pages .
After I create a wire it will not be displayed as a rendered wire. There is no indication of error in the wire (to sharp angle) and this is also happens for a straight wires with no turns.
I have made multiple revisions of an assembly and in older reviosions I can make the wires and they are shown as rendered. But in the latest revision it is not possible. In a older revision I had a harness assembly than deleted it could this have any affect?
Also is there any setting that hides rendered wires that I might have turned on accidently?I have a student licence and the assembly has about 700 parts if that makes any difference.
We use iproperties to describe our parts and have a 40 character limit. Is there any way ilogic could be used to check and possibly warn if an iprop field exceeds 40 characters?

I am quite conversant with Unicode keystrokes (Alt+XXXX) for most symbols in fact I have a cheat that aids me in the correct character code.If I don't have the code I just copy it from the character map and paste it into the sentence but it gets a little tiresome after a while searching the character map for symbols.
I have on numerous occasions lately had the need to to insert the 'THEREFORE' symbol (You know the 3 dots in a triangle) into text notes on my drawings.
This symbol only seems to have a code "U+2234"..I have spent a lot of time searching everywhere for a clue as to what this keystroke sequence means.
I have my font style set to "Arial Unicode MS". Looking for the correct keystroke sequence for "U+XXXX"?
In Photoshop 8 (CS2) a typed character doesn't display until another character is typed or until I leave the text layer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I sent a drawing that I scaled as 1/2" = 1'-0" in an Adobe PDF, and was told by the receiver that the drawing scale was off by 3-4% when they measured it. Hoping that is was the printer's problem, I sent a drawing from another file to FEDEX, and went and scaled that one myself. Sure enough, it's off. It doesn't matter whether it is windowed or brought in a paper space viewport.

Have a problem with door numbering and xref's.
Drawings are set up with similar insertion points at 0,0,0.
Basement and 1st floor in scope of project. Drawings are xrefed into one another but they are overlay NOT attached.
Smart room spaces, room names, doors and door tags have been inserted into both plans for each room.
In the individual xref drawings, the door tag number coinsides with the room number as it should.
An automated door schedule has been produced and it works well. All room numbers are correct.
When xrefing the 1st floor and basement floor into the same sheet file for a CD document, the door tags on the basement doors, B101.1, B102.1, etc. are taking on the numbers of the first floor area just above it, 137.1, 137.2, etc.. This only occurs in the sheet file not the drawing base files.
When I unload xrefs of both the 1st and Basement drawings in the sheet file....save...close the drawing....reopen....then reload the basement xref only....the tags on the doors in question cannot find the correct number of the room. (message "space not found is displayed")
Then, when I reload the the 1st floor in the same sheet drawing and reload the basement floor again, the door numbers on the basement plan take the 100 series room number from the space above.
The Room name and number tag does not change in the xref, only the door tag.
When I detach both files from the sheet and xref the basement file only....the doors show up correctly. Then when I insert the 1st floor, the door numbers get screwed up again.
This has happened on another project in this office but in that situation 2 different floor plans were NOT inserted into one sheet. In that matter, we had to detach the xref and then load again in order for the door numbers to come out corrent.
After the drawing was saved, closed, and then reopened the door number were again wrong and picking up the door numbers from above or below.
Is this a bug in ACAD 2011? Is there a toggle switch somewhere that will fix the issue?
Using blocks established and populated while in 2008 ACAD. Does this matter?
I move the xref in the sheet file so they don't align. I have move them 500' away from one another. This did not solve my problem.
below is a portion of a profile i am working that shows the bottom of the catch basins not at the correct elevation the correct elevation is at the pipe invert the dashed line by checking the structure properties the cb are at the inverts are correct but the actual drawing is not shown correctly.
