When I start Inventor2011 with classic UI only first start set in my addin FirstTime on true, every oder run of inventor FirstTime is false - everythink is OK.
But when I change UI on Ribbon FirstTIme is always True, and every time UI is reloaded -there is bed.
I'm having a try with the inventor simulation and i realized that it doens't use the real stress-strain curve of materials. By this being so, all the stress results pass largely beyond the ultimate strenght of materials. Is there a way of introduzing this curves in autodesk? There is softwares that have this ability, like Solidworks, so there must be a way in Inventor.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLast week I installed a new True Type Font in Windows, so that our drawing title blocks comply to our company standards. I noticed that when checked in into the Vault, the title block containing the new font doesn't display correctly. It shows the new font, but it's distorted; it's bigger, and the letters are too close to eachother. When printing from the Vault, this doesn't change, it's exactly what Vault shows. (See attachments). Also when publishing from within Inventor (File --> Export --> Export to DWF) the font gets distorted.
Posted this message in the Vault-forum, but according to Autodesk it's an Inventor related issue.
Our non-Cad-people are complaining about this, because it's non-compliant to our standards... How can I correct this matter?

In most cases threaded parts are designed without true surface (just cylinder with texture) thus part surface area is calculated wrong (less than it is i real world)).
any automatic way to get true value of threaded surface which is modeled in traditional (simplified) way?
I am working on a pipe with a ports on one side. I created a True/False parameter to determine whether the ports are on one side or two and created a rule that does that, but now I am stuck with the CC:
Is there a way to publish a part to the content center with a true/false parameter? I made a rule to designate what true and false means but when I publish it to the content center I want to be able to choose whether it's true or false and it doesn't seem to be working. I also tried to publish without the T/F parameter and then after placing it just change the T/F parameter but I cannot change any parameter of a part that I placed from the content center.reciated.
Below is my test procedure for "Create Curve Mesh Element" by Inventor simulation 2012.
1. I made a box 100(W)X100(D)X20(H) with 2xR20 (mm) fillets at the opposite edges.
2. I copied a box I made for making 2 type mesh.
3. I made mesh on the box without "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.

4. I made mesh another model with "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.
Node number: 2374 (same number, not increase)
Element number: 1365
Mesh shape is different(please refere attachiment jpeg file).
I think that "Create Curved Mesh Element option" is not for making second tetrahedron elements.But I cnanot the true porpose of "Create Curved Mesh Elements" option.For only P method, not H method?
I am trying to customize Autocad 2012 ribbon tab. I can't seem to find how to mimic the small arrow that appears in several of the standard menus. For example, in the 3D Solids - Home Tab, the second panel from the left is "3D Solids Home - Mesh" It has a small arrow in the corner that opens up a preferences dialogue box.
How can I add that arrow to a custom panel with that little arrow so that I can add my command to it?

I saw some source that hinted you could use panel1Panel.AddSlideout() but in the search I do not see any Ribbon API that allows for any slideout functionality?Do you *have* to use the CUI API for this?
In the Default.ivb I have created a function that creates a new panel and adds some buttons in the panel.
I see the panel and the buttons, but nothing happens when I click on them.
The documentation says that in order to listen to the events of my buttons I should declare a "Private WithEvents ButDef As ButtonDefinition", but it when I try I get an error message "Only valid in object module"
Another question, still related to the events, I would expect to find a _StartUp event where I should run my function, but I can't find that event.

When i start this code, a nice tab shows up when i open an assembly, good!But Now i want to show the same tab with the same button in Part Ribbon.
how I can get a form onto the ribbon or create a custom Icon to run it.
I have read up on afew forums that VB needs to be used in order to achive this but I want to double check.

If you make alterations to a model, and then switch to vault menu, your model is red with an asterix (requires saving). If you click check in on this, you get the message that it needs saving, click ok. It appears that it has worked but all the buttons on the toolbar are frozen. if you click the big I all the ribbon greys out and you need to restart Inventor. The only button that still works is Suite Workflows.
I have SP1.1 installed as well as the vault hot fix.
I have switched computers from my laptop to my workstation. My laptop has an Nvidia card FX2500M, and my workstation has an ATI Fire V5600.
I work with the ribbon minimised to tabs. On my laptop, when I click a tab the ribbon opens directly below the tab (i.e. justified to the left of the screen); but on my workstation, the ribbon opens below the tab but justified to the right of the screen. This means I have to move the cursor back and forth across the screen.
Is there a Reg setting to change the justified back to the left of the screen?
When the ribbon minimise is on other settings (e.g. minimise to panel tiles) the ribbon is justified to the left side of the screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open up Inventor 2014 the Vault tab is visible in the ribbon; however, when I create a new file (of any type) the vault tab disappears from the ribbon. I can retrieve it by right clicking on the ribbon, clicking ribbon appearance and selecting reset ribbon. This fix is only temporary because if I close out Inventor and re-open it I must go through the same steps to retrieve the Vault tab in the ribbon. Any way to make it stay in the ribbon so I don't have to reset the ribbon every time?

Theres no text on the ribbon bar. So far, I have tried switching from classic to ribbon UI, changed the font size from the application options, reinstalled and uninstalled twice, cleaned my PC of registry errors, system restored to the time i didnt have this problem.

I was trying to show another user the Edit in Fusion feature in Inventor 2012 but she doesn't have that ribbon panel. We went into the Part tab in Application Options and Inventor Fusion was selected to Edit Base Solids. We even unselected it, applied it, closed the options and then selected it again. But still there is no Fusion panel under the Model tab when editing a part. Yes, it's installed on her machine. We checked.
The only difference is that she's also installed the 2013 suite, as well. I have the Fusion panel and have not installed any 2013 apps.

If there is a specific toolbar that I want to add to the ribbon how is this done? I see that you can find the toolbar of your choice then slide specific commands using the "Add" button.
Or I can turn on the entire toolbar and place it somewhere around the model screen, but that shrinks the model viewer.

I have created a VBA program (form with options) that modifies our parts list and saves the information to a text file for use by our purchasing dept. software. I need to be able to run this program on multiple IDW files whenever I have them open and whenever I need. How can I place it on the toolbar (ribbon) for easy access across any open file.
As of now the only I see is to export the form,, then import it to every IDW file, there has to be an easier way.
