AutoCAD LT :: Importing True Type Fonts
Jul 20, 2012I want to use a true type font on my CAD template. I have copied the file and saved it in the fonts folder (path x64/acadlt/windows/fonts), however in CAD when i try to select the font it is not available on the list.

Sep 25, 2012issues using True Type Fonts when printing some text through CorelDraw x6. Basically I do screen printing, and I have issues printing TTF's... The text when it prints out chops letters/adds spacing where its not needed, and towards the end of the sheet of vellum - starts to print the first letter of word on the left over again...
I haven't had issues printing off of my HP printer, but that broke so I invested in a BROTHER HL-2230 monochrome laser printer.

Jun 10, 2010Last week I installed a new True Type Font in Windows, so that our drawing title blocks comply to our company standards. I noticed that when checked in into the Vault, the title block containing the new font doesn't display correctly. It shows the new font, but it's distorted; it's bigger, and the letters are too close to eachother. When printing from the Vault, this doesn't change, it's exactly what Vault shows. (See attachments). Also when publishing from within Inventor (File --> Export --> Export to DWF) the font gets distorted.
Posted this message in the Vault-forum, but according to Autodesk it's an Inventor related issue.
Our non-Cad-people are complaining about this, because it's non-compliant to our standards... How can I correct this matter?

AutoCAD Architecture :: Default True Type Handling In PDF Print Drivers
Dec 14, 2011By default, the PDF print drivers we use (Bluebeam, PDF 995) set True Type text handling to be "as graphics" rather than "as text" (see below), which makes for some ugly text. I know I can make this change and save as a .PC3 file, but all our page setups for sheets & templates in the office all reference these default drivers, so it would be preferable to change the way the default driver works if possible. Is the default plotter configuration editable?

I've found that Myriad Pro Bold is a good one for this but I'm looking for others that will give a nice, professional look to my banner ads as well.

Dec 19, 2012I'm new here but for from new to PSP. I've used PSP8 for years and now are using PSP X1. I got PSP 4 but I'm not a fan at all. Anyway I've got a new PC running Win7 64 bit pro. The thing is PSP has decided it want use Adobe open style fonts. The True Type are fine. The open style do show in the fonts list and when used they do create a new vector layer and show the writing in the layers column. The thing is they don't show on the image. They used to work fine before but not now.

Photoshop :: Unable To Add Adobe Open And Type 1 Fonts In XP/SP3
Dec 11, 2008Since applying the latest Microsoft updates to XP/SP3 last week I can now no longer add Open Type 1 or Type 1 fonts to Fonts in Windows, and therefore can't add more fonts for use in Photoshop CS3. I tried a new hard drive, reloaded with XP/SP3 plus updates and the exact same thing occurs. Any of those types of fonts I try to add come up as corrupt/can't load, when in fact they are not corrupt and the exact same font files load with no problem in another XP/SP3 machine that hasn't had the updates applied, and they also load without a hitch in a Vista machine. Anyone else, who has all the updates installed noticing this? Anyone have a solution? I know that this isn't exactly 100% related to Photoshop only, but it does affect the program.

May 26, 2007I have the Adobe Font Folio (Open Type) but I don't know where to start. I do a lot of small ads and so I use a lot of small type.
Does anyone know which fonts in this pack are good for small type? Maybe something thick that will look better at a smaller font size.
I've tried going through the fonts by highlighting the font name in the box and using the arrow keys to rifle through them, but as you know, it highlights what's on the page, making it near to impossible to see how the font would actually look if it weren't highlighted.

Feb 11, 2014I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?

Check preferences for "Text": "Select text-object by path only" should be off. Checked. It was off. Didn't fix it.
Check the toggle for Show/Hide Edges in the View menu. Cmd(Ctrl)-H. Checked. Edges Showing. Didn't fix it.

Illustrator :: CS5.5 Type Not Editable Not Selectable With Type Tool?
Jul 2, 2012Working on a poster in Illustrator. Have added area type, using the type tool. Now I'd like to increase the size of one line. I can't select or edit any of the type with the type tool. I moved the type to a new layer, saved, closed Illustrator, restarted my Mac (OS X 10.7.4). Looked in preferences, in case there's an issue there. No luck.
By the way, I also don't see handles when in the selection tool any more. Don't know if that's related.

Nov 27, 2013I have a font that I downloaded afte looking at over 300 fonts and finding the one I needed. Now, Photoshop won't allow me to import it. It keeps telling me that it's the wrong type of file. I've imported it into word but, I can't seem to get it into photoshop. download another file to open the zip file because that didn't work.
