I've noticed that I can download open type fonts on my computer (OS Windows 7) but if I type them out in my Corel X3, nothing shows up. Even files that I open up in Corel that have open type fonts in them, no text shows.
View 11 RepliesWhat's the easiest way to determine if an Open Type font is enhanced with ligatures, optional caps, etc? I have not found any means other than to open each one individually and try to implement the features.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new here but for from new to PSP. I've used PSP8 for years and now are using PSP X1. I got PSP 4 but I'm not a fan at all. Anyway I've got a new PC running Win7 64 bit pro. The thing is PSP has decided it want use Adobe open style fonts. The True Type are fine. The open style do show in the fonts list and when used they do create a new vector layer and show the writing in the layers column. The thing is they don't show on the image. They used to work fine before but not now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince applying the latest Microsoft updates to XP/SP3 last week I can now no longer add Open Type 1 or Type 1 fonts to Fonts in Windows, and therefore can't add more fonts for use in Photoshop CS3. I tried a new hard drive, reloaded with XP/SP3 plus updates and the exact same thing occurs. Any of those types of fonts I try to add come up as corrupt/can't load, when in fact they are not corrupt and the exact same font files load with no problem in another XP/SP3 machine that hasn't had the updates applied, and they also load without a hitch in a Vista machine. Anyone else, who has all the updates installed noticing this? Anyone have a solution? I know that this isn't exactly 100% related to Photoshop only, but it does affect the program.

Does anyone know which fonts in this pack are good for small type? Maybe something thick that will look better at a smaller font size.
I've tried going through the fonts by highlighting the font name in the box and using the arrow keys to rifle through them, but as you know, it highlights what's on the page, making it near to impossible to see how the font would actually look if it weren't highlighted.

Type 1 fonts not displaying. Open Type & True Type OK. Type 1 OK in all other programs. Problem just happened a day or so ago.
issues using True Type Fonts when printing some text through CorelDraw x6. Basically I do screen printing, and I have issues printing TTF's... The text when it prints out chops letters/adds spacing where its not needed, and towards the end of the sheet of vellum - starts to print the first letter of word on the left over again...
I haven't had issues printing off of my HP printer, but that broke so I invested in a BROTHER HL-2230 monochrome laser printer.
There were some patches available at one time but I'm not able to find them anymore. I have recently installed X3 on a W7 machine and have so far found everything to work fine except for an issue of half of my fonts being blank when trying to choose one from the drop down menu. Existing files with these blank fonts also come up with the fonts completely missing as if the entire set of words was deleted. Here is the list of patches that I've heard is necessary for X3 to be compatible with W7...

I got calls from 3 of the DRAW users that some of the fonts are not displaying correctly since they have updated their Windows today. I have not yet connected my laptop to internet. Shall check it and try to identify the culprit update.Few fonts known for not displaying correctly since today.

The problem is only on Coreldraw. In word and photoshop fonts were displayed correctly. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am putting together a large project and have to import files made by other designers, particularly pdf files that are being created in AI CS3 and CS4. Without fail if I choose import 'text' the font substitution dialog comes up even though in Adobe Reader it shows the fonts as 'embedded'.
If I choose import as curves the fonts come in changed anyway. What is going on? I keep having to go back to the other designers and ask for tiff files. Guess what they say, "Why are you using CorelDraw?"
I didn't have this much trouble with X3 importing pdf with the fonts converted to curves, is it because Adobe Illustrator has changed something? I have read that compression has something to do with it but I read a post here somewhere that said that X5 dealt with that compression issue. Why isn't mine working or is it the nature of the beast? Is there a work around other than purchasing expensive Adobe software?

this is a problem that arose after repairing the previous issue, downloading the MSXML4 SP3 pack...now I can't use some fonts I purchased, open face fonts. After redownloading from supplier, issue is still not resolved.Also, I am unable to open disc 3 of Corel X3 to add fonts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was just trying the features of the new CorelDraw X6 recently. The first problem that I found was - it crashed when I tried to open a file (which was created using CorelDraw X5) with several Fonts (28 different script fonts used and there were only text in the file).
Then I again re-open corel X6 and when I tried to open the same file, it crashed again & again. I did this for 6 times with a crash everytime.
Then at the 7th time when I tried to open the same file in Corel X6, it just got hanged.The file is working fine (and opens quite fast) in Corel X5 as well as Corel X4.
I remeber similar problem happening with Corel X5 initially. Only after Service Pack 2 was made available for Corel X5, that problem solved. Is Corel X6 needs some patches too?
Graphics department is having a problem with Franklin Gothic Medium Condensed Font.
Font has extra space trackings in Corel x6. Is there a specific menu setting i should have to fix this?

It used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have. I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.
I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.
I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.
I have put some new fonts into C:/windows/fonts and they have come up in other programs e.g. Microsoft office but they are not showing up in photoshop.
i am using vista home premium with SP1 and it is 32bit and photoshop cs4.

I draw, and after, I would like to know, how to change the fonts in my custom line types (for example --HW--) from ARIAL to TAHOMA. If I change my Text syles and reload mu custom linetype it doesn't change the text fonts.
Suddenly my normal crisp type is all ragged. Don't know how to fix this- tried restarting, no luck. All of my files have this problem now.
