Feb 11, 2014I'm using AI CC now, but I noticed this problem in earlier versions of AI: If I want to place a one-word label on an illustration I move the type insertion cursor to a speific point on the screen image and click, but then the flashing insertion point, where the label will actually start, pops up elsewhere, usually a line or two above where the cursor was, and a pica or two to the left, forcing me to type the label, then move it into position rather than simply typing it in the right place and moving on. The problem is merely annoying, but I'd like to fix it. It's probably a matter of ignorance-I simply haven't read the right documentation, but I don't know what to call the problem. Where can I find out how to change the position of the cursor relative to the insertion point?

May 2, 2012I’m a long time Photoshop user but recently picked up LR4 to try to fine tune my workflow. I’ve noticed that after importing new files (RAW, I haven’t tried with jpg) into my library as I scroll through them (1-up, not in grid) the preview comes up and then after a second or so the WB changes to a much colder image.Â

Does LR4 initially preview at specific settings and then change to the individual image settings? Even if so, the final images seem very cool and I feel like I have to up the temp more than I should have to. My previous workflow was to sort in Bridge and then use ACR to import to Photoshop. I feel like I did much less tweaking of my WB this way. I feel like I’m starting from square one with LR4.Â

Dec 16, 2008Our users do have shared profiles which are limited to a certain size, there are a few of them having trouble with their profile running out of boundaries.
This causes for example the problem that the user can not log off.
Since Adobe Photoshop (as well as other Adobe products) is writing settings to the Folder "C:Documents and Settings[USERNAME]Application DataAdobe[PRODUCT][VERSION]", this is filling up the profile quite a bit.
Is there any possibility to change the Path of this, so the applications are using another savepath for the settings?

Jan 29, 2007I was wondering how can we change the default setting of PS.
If you go to "Blending Options" in PS and click on "Outer Glow/Inner Glow/Drop Shadow/....etc" You will see that these options have already some colors as default, means Drop shadow has black color as default and inner glow and outer glow has yellow as default.
I wanted to change these default colors to something else. Like I want to change the YELLOW color of outer and inner glow to WHITE color. Is it possible?

Nov 13, 2004I have PS v7.0 for PC.
I want to create an “Action” that changes the File type from .psd to .jpg, and then use the “Batch” command to change a whole folder on files.
Here’s what happens so far: I open a file. Then using the “action” pallet, I record the following:
Save as…
I change the “Save In” folder to a different folder.
I change the “Format” from Photoshop (PSD) to JPEG (JPG).
Under JPEG Options, I use the default file size and hit OK.
I them hit the Stop button.
Seems simple enough. And it works for the first file.
But if I use this “action” on a second file, it writes over the original file.
So, how do I create an “action” that allows me to automate the “save as” function and change file types.
This must be a common operation. I have 300+ .psd files that I need to change to .jpg.

I know very well that CS2 remembers my first type in of settings (e.g. grayscale and 300dpi) and use it also for upcoming EPS files during a session. CS5 settings are CMYK and 72dpi always... each EPS.

Jun 19, 2009I have been editing photos in Lightroom. I occasionally take a photo into Photoshop for more editing and when I do this, if I make any change to the program window side, the color changes to a darker, more muted looking photo. If I minimize the program, nothing changes. If I either change the window size to a smaller, non-maximized window or drag it to my secondary display, the color changes to what I am guessing is a different color space. The only way to fix this is to shut down Photoshop and restart it. I am sure this is some setting in Photoshop color settings, but not sure. Should I have my color settings set to my monitor calibration file or should it be Adobe RGB? Not sure what Lightroom edits in. I do have it set up to send the file to Photoshop in Adobe RGB.
