Photoshop 11 quis when I try to choose a media type from priner settings on my new macbook pro. I am using an Epson RU2000 printer, and do not have this problem on my old macbook pro.
View 7 RepliesUsing photoshop elements 9, the print driver printer settings are not allowing me to choose a drop-down option for page set-up "sheet" or "media type". This is where I should be able to choose "cassette", but it's only showing me a blank drop down. I tried Espon help. I tried Adobe chat. Using a MacBook Pro 10.6.8. Just getting to the "printer settings" is buggy too, as it won't go to it until I've chosen another option, e.g. "Roll Paper Settings" first.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi recieved a prom pic from my daughter and i was going to print it and frame it, but 2 things happend.
The first one was that when i tried to print it it said it was tooooooo big 40inx60in so i resized it to 8.5x11 and it got very blurry, after about an hour i figured out how to get it sharp again (by accident) and forgot how i did it DOH!!! It was some kind of compairson with 4 of the same photo and resizeing the file from 9.5M to about 400kb and actualy adding some blur.
The next problem is when i printed it, it was so washed out it looked like an old 70's poloroid but on screen it looks great. Now I've read the color settings section but i think i might have set some settings wrong [U]and i don't think i fully understand what i'm reading . I know there are settings to either let photoshop take care of the printing or let the printer.Personaly i think i would like to let photoshop do it that way any email's or photo's i shoot will have a common baseline. The printer i'm using is an hp psc 2410 and the camera is a minolta dimage7i, is this a good camera / printer. I'm in adobe rgb(1998) mode and i think i saw somwhere in the printer software to choose between adobe rgb or the hp printer.Do these have to match.
Put simply how can i print it the way i see it on screen

Can you choose the type of Alpha channel that Paint.NET saves? Premultiplied or non-premultiplied/straight?
Otherwise, what is the type of alpha channel that Paint.NET saves by default?
I'm setting a layout - I choose plan view for my viewport, save the template and .... I have set it again to unspecified.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to setup Photoshop CS6 print settings so that "Scale To Fit Media" is the default. I tried to create an action and then through Bridge select a folder and Batch send the files to Open-Print-Close. Since images are never received 8.5"x11" it would be convenient to have this as a default. Since the print settings revert, or aren't defaulting to "settings last used", my batch attempt was unsuccessful. I know I could edit my action to adjust image size to page dimensions, but thought a way to edit the Print settings default must be out there somewhere. (Using MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.4)

I get only one page printed. Each time must reprint AND reset the paper type.
Settings are NOT remembered as Adobe says after clicking either the Done or Print button.
This is CS5 32 bit Extended v 12.0 on HP color laserjet 2605dn (duplex printer. HP only makes a universal driver now, this is the latest version on Windows Pro 7.

But just now, when I went to print, and tried to click the Print settings... button, nothing happens. I have tried using Software Update and installed the latest Epson Printer Software, and tested several other applications, and the printer is connected and working fine in those.

Secondly, what about color. Will CMYK be good for home printing. I don't know exactly what printer it is going to be.
LR5 version 5.3 abends when selecting media type in the print module; on Mac OSX 10.9.1. Why? The printer is an Epson 4900.

In searching, the sort option in the import dialog on "media type" should work so I can easily just select new jpg files, however this does nothing for me. Is this supposed to work? I'm running OSX 10.7.2 and LR 3.6.
View 12 Replies View RelatedThe margins don't work and you have to enter all the parameters if you are printing multiple photos.
No matter what margins you enter, the utility ignores them. I need to CENTER a document on both sides of a piece of brochure paper in order to create a personalized greeting card. This program puts the document on the left - turn the page over, and the card does not match. I would have to cut the paper to size and then set up paper sizes for the printer. The other solution would be to make the document letter size and center the card on that. What a waste of time.
I used to get perfect prints on an HP 2600N Laser Printer just by using no color management. Now I don't. Also, if you are printing 2 photographs (or 2 sides of the card) you have to close the program, re-open the program, get the 2nd photograph and reset the margins and the printer specs. What a bother!
I don't know why you just can't put the 'no color management' back into photoshop (unless you are being paid by printing companes not to do so.)
Loaded a MPEG-4 Media File 3Gb, went to setting, clicked on Smart Proxy cue manager, waited 40min and clicked ok. I check my Smart proxy file manger and it was there. My power went out, when I reload CV my files in Proxy manager were no longer there, and my file is back to being slow and jerky, that means I have redo this again.
does this mean I have to cue manger every time I wish to work with the same file?
To create a new template one has to go through the "Printer..." dialog to change the paper size. Unfortunately, the only way to actually SAVE the new settings is to click OK, which causes Lightroom to print the current image. In all other programs, the "Printer..." dialog is used only to adjust settings. In Lightroom it seems to serve as a "Print" dialog as well. On Windows this violates long-standing UI function guidelines embodied by pretty much all other software.
A concrete example:
I needed to create a new template to print on 8-1/2 x 11 paper. To do so, I created a new template while in an existing template for 8x10. This copies the settings to the new template, but one cannot adjust the cell size to anything larger than 8x10. So I went to the "Printer...:" dialog to change the paper size. However, when clicking OK on the "Printer..." dialog, to save the new paper size, Lightroom starts printing the current image.
What should happen is that the settings are saved and no printing starts. Printing should occur only when I click on "Print".
Unless I've missed something and there's a way to change paper size, color profile, paper type, etc. (all the things you can change on the printer driver's dialog) from within Lightroom without invoking "Printer..."?
When I use export media in Pr CS6 and use custom settings (H.264) and click Queue when it arrives in Media Encoder none of the custom settings are there, instead it always defaults to .F4V.

I set the paper to say 15 * 18 and borderless and select print. The paper size shown in the top left changes back to A4 by itself. Try setting the options again and they remain as selected. Select another photo and try to print 15 * 18 borderless and the paper size changes again.
I have an Photoshop Elements 8, where I created a flyer in A5 size. Includes a logo and text and a background.
The print shop wants the image in PDF format to print the flyer. When I press "Save As ..." and choose to save the file in Photoshop PDF, select the image quality, fileformat (JPEG or ZIP), etc, I press the Save button. When I then go into the folder where I saved the file in there that is not there.
in PSE12 I have my own old structure in C-drive. With this structure activated, the preset with LOCAL ALBUMS disappear. So when in my own C structure I can not find and see my old albums and hence I can not add pictures to old albums. In PSE10 ALBUMS and TAGS where on the right side and very easy to work with, now I only have imported tags on my right side.

By this I mean the toolbar, layers panel, etc. NOT the background, I've already figured out how to do that. But it turns out to have some adverse effect while converting image from one format to the other (like rgb to cmyk) bitmaps, the black shade on the image looked washed out in multicolor offset print.
what should i do now to get pure black output from bw laser printer without using the preserve pure black setting.

Is there a best setting for the mode, color settings, and color profiles when printing a grayscale vector illustration to a monochrome laser printer? I am making vector maps, and right now they are mostly black line and black text with only the K values in CMYK. There are some gray tones—for example water areas are 10% K, with no C, M or Y. Would it make any difference if I used RGB mode values at 100% (255,255,255), or a rich black in CMYK (such as 40C, 30M, 30Y, 100K)? I printed in K only at 1200dpi to a Generic Gray Gamma 2.2 profile, and it doesn't look too bad. There aren't many of the lines that are really jagged. I just wondered if there are better settings.
I'm using Mac OS 10.6, Illustrator CS6, and a Brother HL-5470DW monochrome laser printer.
unable to select "printer manages colors" in the print settings, manage colors dialog. The options are grayed out and the default is "color sync". This started yesterday with LR4 so I upgraded to LR5 and it is the same.
