I am in the process of creating a .dwt to be used to generate plan & profile sheets. I have attempted to set the viewport type to either plan or profile (depending on the viewport) but it keeps resetting itself to "undefined".
View 1 Replies View RelatedPreviously, I use to create sketch's on the face of the part and do holes and extrusion operations.
I use to face lot of issues as parent geomentry is visible while editing the sketch. Started to use datum planes and avoid using the face of the part to create sketchs, This is method is much better as I dont have any issue with the parent geomentry.
But, I have new problem. Please refer to the attached screen shot. When I want to create the holes in nominated centres there is no option for me to select the face of the part.. The counter bore depth starts from the sketch plane.
It would be lot handy, if there is an option to select a plane or a face for these operations. Then I can share the same sketch to create holes in different parts which are at different distances from sketch plane.
Typically when setting up a viewport in paper space I can change the viewport type at the bottom of the properties dialog box. In 2013 the option is available, but it will always snap back to undefined. I'm sure it is a setting somewhere.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a series of sheets, each with two viewports to show two plan views of a long road alignment. I arranged them to read bottom to top, as it goes up stationing, as we do with cross section sheets, but have been told by an outside reviewer that the sheets are confusing and should read top down.
How would you arrange them?
Can you choose the type of Alpha channel that Paint.NET saves? Premultiplied or non-premultiplied/straight?
Otherwise, what is the type of alpha channel that Paint.NET saves by default?
In the full version of AutoCAD you could rotate the objects inside a vieport when you are in paper space. Can you do that also in AutoCAD Lite 2013? and if so, how?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a massive problem with my autocad map 3d's linetype scale..Problem is caused from creating an primary viewport "construction plan", then creating a second viewport "detail plan" and zooming in on the detail plan viewport.
My line type in the detail plan turns into ------ LV ----- as apart from the normal size of -----LV-----.I've tried everything form psltscale, lt scale, msltscale (i think), audit, recover, basically everything i could.
NOTE: This problem is only on my pc, and none of the other pc's in the office do this. I use classic autocad and have customised my buttons etc.
Photoshop 11 quis when I try to choose a media type from priner settings on my new macbook pro. I am using an Epson RU2000 printer, and do not have this problem on my old macbook pro.
View 7 Replies View RelatedUsing photoshop elements 9, the print driver printer settings are not allowing me to choose a drop-down option for page set-up "sheet" or "media type". This is where I should be able to choose "cassette", but it's only showing me a blank drop down. I tried Espon help. I tried Adobe chat. Using a MacBook Pro 10.6.8. Just getting to the "printer settings" is buggy too, as it won't go to it until I've chosen another option, e.g. "Roll Paper Settings" first.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe've recently upgraded to AutoCAD 2012, having previously used 2008. All our drawings are therefore in 2007 drawing format (not sure this is relevant!). When I open a drawing, and send a plot, I noticed that the linetypes in my plot were strange - hidden lines plot as solid, lines thicker than other lines, etc. I've discovered (from another forum) that the shadeplot type in my viewports has changed to "legacy hidden" instead of "as displayed". When I open the same drawing in AutoCAD 2008, the shadeplot is correctly set to "as displayed". Is there something I'm missing that is causing my viewports to change to "legacy hidden" plot style?
as I'm currently having to (remember to) change the viewport shade plot to "as displayed", or I'm wasting a lot of plotter paper!
Just switforeveched to AutoCAD 2013 from 2011. I kept the classic interface as I did since forever. This is the problem I am having now. After I created a viewport in a layout, I right click on the viewport border fully expecting a menu to come up so I can set the type to be 2d hidden. But nothing like that occurs. The help menu came up. How do I get the viewport menu to set the view type?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with a viewport that fits to the page. And I created another smaller viewport over top that just shows the legend. Now when I try to double click inside the smaller viewport it always goes into the larger one. I have tried bringing the smaller one to the front but that didn't work. I know that I can clip the larger viewport around the smaller one or bring the legend right into paperspace or slid the smaller one off to the side work in it and slide it back. This is more out of curiosity of how to get into the smaller viewport.

Can I choose the projection of to-be-imported-points when I import some laserscan-files in ASCII format? So I can tell AutoCAD: these points are in MGI-AT.AUT-Central/GK projection, please convert them to my desired projection.
There is a method which takes much too long:
open a new document assign the origin-projection (here; MGI-AT.AUT-Central/GK) to the fileimport the pointsexport the points as .shp file, define a projection-system conversion to target projection (here: AT-LCC)open the file with the target projection assigned to it (here: AT-LCC)import the .shp file
How to choose “no color” for the line extending between the contours labels?
I labeled the contour lines but sounds that it draws a line between them. Is there a way to hide this line to give it “no color” to have a better presentation for the entire map?

I am in case to model a stormwater network contain ditches with irregular sections, open channels and closed pipes in SSA. I do not have access to IDF curves for the Project area. We got a weather station in site which is giving us continuous data from last 3 months till now. At this stage we just decided to use certain Rainfall intensity (mm/hr).
We got some check points to check the turbidity. What I need to know after analyse is i.e what is the flow at these points at 6:00 pm if we experience the rainfall from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm with 20 mm/hr rainfall intensity.
So my concerns are with these available basic data, which method is suitable? and as long as we approach more valued data from in site weather station then which method will be the best. If i want to input time of concentration manually for each subbasin then how can i input TC of pipes or channels in SSA? URL....
where MATT said: "SSA does not calculate the Standard-Step method. The Rational Methods (including modified, and DeKalb) all compute the runoff to the inlet or junction. As soon as runoff enters the system, continuity and momentum calculations take over. SInce you are using Steady State Qin = Qout, so no routing occurs on pipes."
how do i understand the flow in certain points i.e 2 hrs after the rainfall is finished if I can not define TC for pipes or channels?
I'm using c3d 2013. I'm setting up plan production dwt's for plan-profile, plan, profile and section.
My question is do I need to have a north arrow visible in my plan viewports layouts inside the dwt? I know when creating viewframes and sheets, the dialog has a pull down to add a north arrow at whatever orientation I choose to cut sheets. I didn't know if it will add the north arrow and rotate it based on the one already in the layout tab or if it pulls the north arrow in separately thus having 2 north arrows. Should I take out the north arrow in the plan layouts inside dwt or not?
Is there any chance to fit plan and profile on one 11x17 layout without exploding and export to dwg? I can't do it because of annotation scale that change every time.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow can I create a own Plan and Profile Sheet?
I already spent much time trying do it but it was failed.
I've set up a dwt file which uses our title blocks for plan/profile drawings and everything seems to work well except that when I view the profile the text and band sizes are tiny. I have to increase them to really large numbers in order for them to work. It's a metric drawing.
The viewport in the picture has scale of 1:250 set for both annotation and standard scale. The length shown in the view is 200m.
I am trying to use Plan Production Tools. While creating frame I new what my start station was, but was not really sure how far to go so i let it create frames to the end. After i seen where the frames landed i realized i needed to erase one frame. Then i Created sheets. While looking at the sheets i have noticed i did not delete the matchline. Is there a way to delete this matchline or do i have to do all that work again?

I have been creating directly the DWG of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 for a couple of months.I created a project for the 8 points (4 locations with 2 depths in each location - i. e. same XY-coordinates, but different Z) And I just cannot separate the 2 "depth" points of the "same XY-coordinates" location in the 3D Wireframe by using the 3D Rotation Cube. I wonder I should start the C3D 2013 with choosing the right Template, configuring proper Viewports and creating suitable View Frames. I don't know what Template is right for my project of the 2 "depth" points of the same location in the 3D Wireframe of C3D 2013 - see the attached file. what Template (.dwt) is right for my project, how to cofigure 2 or 3 Viewports, and create the View Frames.

I need to show earthwork (+ or -), EG and FG on a grid. cogo points do not seem to have reference text functionality. surface labels seems to be able to do it, but cannot give me a table.

My delima is regarding cogo point readability. I'm used to LDD so this may be the issue. I set a cogo point but I want it to stay in the same orientation. if I use orbit or dview the cogo point data reorients (rotates) to line up horizontally. I would like the data to remain as set originally. I tried changing plan readabilty in label styles but when I drag the point it rotates to the current view orientation. Is there a way to control the rotation once dragged so it does not reorient if I change the orbit or dview?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhat are the options for drawing utilities (namely water lines) in plan view and having them properly show in profile view?
I'm familiar with creating a polyline, turning it into a feature line, weeding vertices, etc. That works all right but is lnog-winded and really doesn't work well when dealing with lots of curves.
I am working in C3D 2011. The end station on my alignment is 163+02. The last major station label is 163+00. The label text overlap. I want to turn off the end label of 163+02. The end station is not checked in my Alignment Style or in the Geometry Points style. I am assuming there is a command in the Settings/Alignment/Commands that is overriding the changes I have made in individual styles. I have found some post concerning this from 2004 but they do not seem to be applicable in 2011.
