we have a dilema regarding Backburner 2013:
I work at a studio and we want to buy new servers and we want to purchase Windows Server 2012 wich, from what we read is based on Windows 8 architecture. We read BackBurner 2013's specification and Windows 8 didn't appear as supported.
Our question is: If we buy Windows Server 2012 Enterprise for the render farm will it work with Backburner 2013 without any problem?
Looks like the format is not forwarded correctly to the printer when printing A3, it comes out as A4. If we change paper format in printer properties to A3 it works fine.

After working fine last week, one particular computer is not able to run Server, although all the rest of the computers seem to work fine. On Server startup, the error message is:
Error receiving information: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host (0x2746)I'm not finding very specific information regarding the message by searching Google.
I have a render node whose server appears in the backburner manager. However in the Network Job Assignment dialog the server does not appear. The server does show up in the Monitor.
All boxes have latest 3dsmax 2012 as well as latest version of Back-burner 2012
I cannot start "Backburner Server." I restarted my Mac a couple time but never can change the red light.

I've been using backburner for a number of years and never run across this message before. What does it mean and why does it happen when it says.

The manager then won't assign a frame to that server.
I have big problem with backburner 2012 using my new HP laptop (win7 64). The server and manager don't start and I get an error trying to deinstall BB. On my other workstations the BB software run just fine. What should I do?

I can used each browser I own it still the same. I try to flush cookies everywhere and it's the same.
It looks like the page adobe.com (YES) is redirect to a local page from Autodesk.(only [URL])
I try to do the same in an other user account on my mac, and it is the same.
So I look in the activity monitor to locate if an Autodesk thing is on. I isolate BackburnerManager and BackburnerServer, on. (Smoke is off)I tried to hard quit them but I couldn't
I am using Autodesk 3D Map 2012 Enterprise. I used Infrastructure Administrator 2012 to create a File based schema with the required tables and domains. This has created a DWT file and my understanding is if i create a DWG file using this DWT as the template then i should be able to create the features with the attribute details stored in SQLLite. I am also not very clear whether this SQLLite would be embedded within the DWG.
I have an Utility network asset map of a city with OSMM background and Address Layer 2 in UK which i want to transfer to a DWG file created in this template. The source data is a ESRI filegeodatabase format with data held in 30+ featureclasses. I can convert the featureclasses into SHP files.
a)My problem is how can i import the contents of the shapefile into a DWG file created using the template defined using Infrastructure Administrator 2012 above and indicate that the attribute should go to SQLLite or is it something implicitly handled ?
b) It leaves me wondering as why Autodesk is not stressing on the adoption of SDF which is projected as a DWG with relational datatables? What is the intended use of SDF?

I have created my add-in using VS 2010 SP1.0.
Now, if I try to launch Inventor(w/o Run As Admin i.e just double click) 2014 SP1.0, in Windows 8, my add-in works fine.
If I launch Inventor with Run As Admin, My add-in stops receiving call backs from Inventor.
In a previous life, i used to have a short, one-line macro in my MNL file that would read the location of the currently active drawing, find the parent directory of that drawing (truncated to 3 levels) and open a Word document in that directory that is named after the project.
For example, if the active drawing path is
"Q:/Projects/12345 Cold Storage/Elevations/Phase 1/North Storage.dwg"
this macro would open the Word document named
"12345 Cold Storage.doc"
that was in the directory
"Q:/Projects/12345 Cold Storage"
If the file did not exist, it would be created named the same as the 3rd level directory. After i wrote this, it sure sounds like a lot, but as i remember, it was a short, one-liner.
I have scene that I uses videopost glow, when I try to render from videopost to BB Max2012 starts and render the first frame, then hangs so I need to turn the power off.But I just render the same scene localy it works just fine.With my old installtion 2011 this was working just fine, and if I render from the standard render to BB it works, it´s only when render from videopost.

We don’t proxy ports 80 and 443 directly (we use 8989-9093 for proxy ports), so I don’t see any way of meeting these requirements at the present time, at least in the wired Enterprise network.
Static network, static IP address on fixed machine. Stable install been used every day for over 2 years. Come in this morning and backburner server fails to launch. Network functional as usual, checked all the usual culprits and no joy. Reinstalling SP4 now to see if that repairs links.

1. The server hardware is the same with no other changes other than upgrading to BB 2012. I uninstalled 2008.1 prior to the upgrade.
How to connect to SQL Server 2008 r2 by using Map 3D 2012? I can't to make it. It prompts the message "Invalid connection". I used the IP as the service name of map 3d.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince last thursday we have been having major issues opening files from our network share on server 2012. Everytime we go to open an .ai it hangs illustrator for about 15-20 seconds?
This has only started happening to all 3 machines we have
Our network is 1GB links, 2 of our computers are massive spec, i5's 16gb ddr3 1600, ssds......., other one slightly older ddr2 no ssd (problem exists on them all)
If we drag the file to the desktop then open, this is instant but reading from the server is being a nightmare!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to purchase either Photoshop CS3 or the Creative Suite CS3, but the only operating system I have available is an in-house development server running Windows Server 2003.
I used to run Photoshop 5.5 on Windows Server 2003 without an issue, I wanted to make sure version CS3 will also run on this OS. I know the system requirements say otherwise, but as I said I had it installed on a server OS before with out any issues.
I have been using Max 2012 with Backburner 2013 without a problem for the last 8 months. I have just finished a project so I thought I would test the same project that works fine on 2012 on 2013.
On the render server everything works fine. On all the render nodes I get the following error
Application Load error 3ds max adapter error 3ds max process no response
3ds max 2013 is installed on all the render nodes.
I'm really getting tired of problems going from 1 version to the next. how much time goes into testing new versions each year. I would gladly have less upgrades but upgrades that work
I am having a problem saving files to a Windows 2003 server from PS7 error message of "could not save as serverfolderfilename because disk is full". No problems encountered with PS6 or PS-CS. As the server is in excess of 3 Terabytes I don't think it is a hardware problem. More that it is a problem with PS7 or Windows 2003.

After Lion to Mountain Lion upgrade.
Cannot save or save as to Windows server. Due to "program error." Adobe Photoshop CS5. Can save as fine to local drive. Can also drag and drop in the Finder to this server.
This is Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 (current). Once the error "could not save file name due to a program error" occurs, the file disappears from the Windows server.
I think it has something to due with the SMB connection. All other CS5 apps (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) "save" and "save as" fine. It is also fine performing the same procedure using Preview.
We recently migrated our fileshare project drawings from Window Server 2003 to Window Server 2008-R2 x64...We are experiencing slowness opening or only right click button on more dwg on XP Pro 32/64bit workstation.
Problem repeats if you try to copy many dwg files from windows explorer, right button properties..i have already disabled "validate digital signatures and display special icons" on each machine .There isn't any slowness problem opening files on other application e.g.. Office.
Although Adobe only supports PS installation on Windows XP or Vista, is there a way to get it installed on a Windows 2003 Server operating system?

I can connect to it and add the features to a map when using Map 2012, but not with Map 2013, even with the Sql Server hotfix installed. In 2013 I can log in to sql server and see a grayed out list of the feature classes, but I can't add them to my maps, and I get a message about no spatial data found, (or something to that effect).
View 9 Replies View RelatedAll our DWG files are stored on a network share. Files in that share are indexed by Windows Server 2008 r2, so searching in files from within Windows 7 is quite easy.
Unfortunately, the server doesn't index DWG files - it doesn't have the required filter installed. Now I can add the DWG extension, but it will use a 'Plain text filter' that's unable to look inside the DWG's. It should use the AcDwgFilter.
So: How do I get the server to index DWG's without installing AutoCAD? I.e. how to install the AcDwgFilter on the server.
