Dec 1, 2008My company is switching to a Windows HPC 2008 Server based platform and I wanted to know if we'll be able to run Photoshop CS4 Extended on this OS? The Microsoft site seems a bit sparse in terms of information on compatibility with existing applications.

Jun 7, 2008I'm looking to purchase either Photoshop CS3 or the Creative Suite CS3, but the only operating system I have available is an in-house development server running Windows Server 2003.
I used to run Photoshop 5.5 on Windows Server 2003 without an issue, I wanted to make sure version CS3 will also run on this OS. I know the system requirements say otherwise, but as I said I had it installed on a server OS before with out any issues.

Jun 15, 2004I am having a problem saving files to a Windows 2003 server from PS7 error message of "could not save as serverfolderfilename because disk is full". No problems encountered with PS6 or PS-CS. As the server is in excess of 3 Terabytes I don't think it is a hardware problem. More that it is a problem with PS7 or Windows 2003.

Cannot save or save as to Windows server. Due to "program error." Adobe Photoshop CS5. Can save as fine to local drive. Can also drag and drop in the Finder to this server.
This is Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 (current). Once the error "could not save file name due to a program error" occurs, the file disappears from the Windows server.
I think it has something to due with the SMB connection. All other CS5 apps (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) "save" and "save as" fine. It is also fine performing the same procedure using Preview.

I work at a studio and we want to buy new servers and we want to purchase Windows Server 2012 wich, from what we read is based on Windows 8 architecture. We read BackBurner 2013's specification and Windows 8 didn't appear as supported.
Our question is: If we buy Windows Server 2012 Enterprise for the render farm will it work with Backburner 2013 without any problem?

Nov 6, 2013Looks like the format is not forwarded correctly to the printer when printing A3, it comes out as A4. If we change paper format in printer properties to A3 it works fine.

Jul 28, 2011We recently migrated our fileshare project drawings from Window Server 2003 to Window Server 2008-R2 x64...We are experiencing slowness opening or only right click button on more dwg on XP Pro 32/64bit workstation.
Problem repeats if you try to copy many dwg files from windows explorer, right button properties..i have already disabled "validate digital signatures and display special icons" on each machine .There isn't any slowness problem opening files on other application e.g.. Office.

Jul 6, 2012I cannot save my .psd files to the server from Photoshop, neither save or save-as. Save for web works just fine. When I try to save I get this error message:
Could not save as “X.psd” because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to ensure the file is unlocked and you have permission to access the file. If the problem persists, save the document to a different file or duplicate it in the Finder.
I know for sure that I have unlocked permissions and no one else is using the file.

Apr 19, 2013one of big problems which arise after update to CS6 is with Photoshop - we are agency, we have workflow based on servers and with CS6 now we have quite often issues with saving on server. After few hours of work there is no more possible to save to server, you must restart PS. With all previous versions of PS there were no such problems like with CS6 (we used CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5.5). Users are switching back to CS5/5.5, but for me it seems quite unbelievable that this kind of errors occurs in such frequent manner.Adobe don't guarantee 100% functionality when using with server, but it would be great to maintain at least some quality level across all versions. For us it means that investment in CS6 upgrade have lower value than we expected. And no, "save locally and copy to server" is not usable to our workflow, it will slowdown users too much.
if Adobe plans to improve quality of PS CS6. We don't want to upgrade to CS7 just because it maybe will work.

Photoshop :: Saving As To A Server Through A Network
Dec 2, 2008I'm having technical difficulty when Saving As in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign CS2. I can save to my computer but when I attempt to SAVE AS to my server it will take about 5 minutes and give me an I/O error or corrupt the file or the entire program will shut down. Often I will have to restart the entire computer. I've checked the network lines and they are fine. It only does it to my computer and none of the other 4 in my office.

I've looked around and tried the recommended steps offered on other threads. When I reboot my laptop it works again for maybe five minutes but the moment I try to import another video it doesn't work. If I close the program, wait 30 seconds, and try again I get the error message again. When I try opening Bridge the whole program freezes.

Jun 25, 2013We recently upgraded our Adobe Creative Suite from CS3 to CS6. Now I am experiencing issues with Photoshop CS6 I have not seen in previous versions, it seems it cannot save files across a network any longer. If I try to work normally, saving my files to a folder on our server, PS crashes constantly. The new recovery mode is handy but time and space consuming= inefficient for our workflow. My work around is to save files to my Mac, and then copy them to the server later, which is Archaic and also inefficient. When I try to save a PS CS6 .eps to the server, it does not work any longer, I get the message; Program Error or a freeze and crash of Photoshop CS6.

I tried downloading the CR 7.1 update which came to me as a zip file.But when I try to open it, there are a number of various files, none of which are an .exe file. which file do I use and what folder do I insert this file into? Jul 20, 2009After creating an animated GIF with Image Reader, I saved as optimized GIF, and uploaded the GIF to an ad server. However, after I posted it to the ad server, it wasn't working...and the properties show that it was converted to a PNG.
My Question:
Was this conversion a result of something I did...or something that needs to be taken care of by the host of the ad server?
