I have searched the internet high and low for any tutorials on creating server/computer graphics, which i want for my web hosting company i want to start shortly.
Would some please, please help me?!? Does anyone know of any tutorials or anyone who can write me one?
Yesterday when I was working with Corel Photo Paint X6 and Corel Draw X5 all of a sudden all my desktop program icons changed to show Corel Draw X6 -- also an .ink extension appeared behind all the program names. (this also happened in my "all programs" list.) Everything I click on takes me to Corel Draw X6. get things back to normal?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know that in ACAD you can use the xref manager to see where the actual file for the xref resides on your computer/server/etc. What I'm curious about is whether or not the inverse action is possible. Can you somehow access the file (not the output sheet where it's being xref-ed) and see what other files are using it as an xref?
I've come in on a project that is nearing completion and have been assigned the task of "cleaning up the project folder." Unfortunately, there are a ton of files in the different folders that are no longer in use on the final output sheets and I need to keep the ones still in use and archive the ones that are no longer needed. What I've been doing is going through those sheets and reviewing the xref manager for each sheet to see which files are actually put onto those sheets and making a physical checklist from which to organize my findings. Once the checklist is made, I then archive all the files that are no longer being used.
I copy a .dwg to my remote computer and open it. Then .dwl and .dwl2 are created in same local folder as the .dwg I just opened localy. Then I copy the local .dwl and .dwl2 files back to the remote server in the same location I received the origional .dwg from. Why are those files not locked now from everybody on the network that I am remotly away from?

Everything else has normal icons (i.e. Illustrator files) but the Photoshop files are blank. This is true whether I'm on any type of viewer format, i.e. details, thumbnails.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot save my .psd files to the server from Photoshop, neither save or save-as. Save for web works just fine. When I try to save I get this error message:
Could not save as “X.psd” because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to ensure the file is unlocked and you have permission to access the file. If the problem persists, save the document to a different file or duplicate it in the Finder.
I know for sure that I have unlocked permissions and no one else is using the file.

View 1 Replies View Relatedone of big problems which arise after update to CS6 is with Photoshop - we are agency, we have workflow based on servers and with CS6 now we have quite often issues with saving on server. After few hours of work there is no more possible to save to server, you must restart PS. With all previous versions of PS there were no such problems like with CS6 (we used CS3, CS4, CS5, CS5.5). Users are switching back to CS5/5.5, but for me it seems quite unbelievable that this kind of errors occurs in such frequent manner.Adobe don't guarantee 100% functionality when using with server, but it would be great to maintain at least some quality level across all versions. For us it means that investment in CS6 upgrade have lower value than we expected. And no, "save locally and copy to server" is not usable to our workflow, it will slowdown users too much.
if Adobe plans to improve quality of PS CS6. We don't want to upgrade to CS7 just because it maybe will work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having technical difficulty when Saving As in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign CS2. I can save to my computer but when I attempt to SAVE AS to my server it will take about 5 minutes and give me an I/O error or corrupt the file or the entire program will shut down. Often I will have to restart the entire computer. I've checked the network lines and they are fine. It only does it to my computer and none of the other 4 in my office.

I used to run Photoshop 5.5 on Windows Server 2003 without an issue, I wanted to make sure version CS3 will also run on this OS. I know the system requirements say otherwise, but as I said I had it installed on a server OS before with out any issues.
I have a problem with this patch. When a I try to click on File/Import/Video Frames To Layers there's an error "DynamicLink Media Server is not available". I try to wait 30 second and restart the program and my pc, but there have been no changes.I also updated the patch downloaded from the website version 1.01
I saw that others have had this problem, but I have not figured out how they did to solve it. I'm Italian and I understand little about your language so.
I have installed a new hard drive and reinstalled CS5 from CD. Now every time I try to download updates I get a message 'The Update server is not responding, please try again later'.

I'm using Photoshop CS6 and I keep getting this error while trying to import video frames to layers
I've looked around and tried the recommended steps offered on other threads. When I reboot my laptop it works again for maybe five minutes but the moment I try to import another video it doesn't work. If I close the program, wait 30 seconds, and try again I get the error message again. When I try opening Bridge the whole program freezes.
We recently upgraded our Adobe Creative Suite from CS3 to CS6. Now I am experiencing issues with Photoshop CS6 I have not seen in previous versions, it seems it cannot save files across a network any longer. If I try to work normally, saving my files to a folder on our server, PS crashes constantly. The new recovery mode is handy but time and space consuming= inefficient for our workflow. My work around is to save files to my Mac, and then copy them to the server later, which is Archaic and also inefficient. When I try to save a PS CS6 .eps to the server, it does not work any longer, I get the message; Program Error or a freeze and crash of Photoshop CS6.

How can I download the Camera Raw 8.2 update? I'm using a Windows 7-64bit machine.
I tried downloading the CR 7.1 update which came to me as a zip file.But when I try to open it, there are a number of various files, none of which are an .exe file. which file do I use and what folder do I insert this file into? Shouldn't it automatically open and load in the correct folder?I'm not a programmer, just a user.
I recently installed CS4 and when I quit Photoshop CS4 I get a "DDE Server... memory could not be 'read'" error. I've looked all over the forums for solutions to this, tried deleting my preferences file, reinstalling CS4, and fiddling with performance options, but nothing seems to make a change. View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter creating an animated GIF with Image Reader, I saved as optimized GIF, and uploaded the GIF to an ad server. However, after I posted it to the ad server, it wasn't working...and the properties show that it was converted to a PNG.
My Question:
Was this conversion a result of something I did...or something that needs to be taken care of by the host of the ad server?

My client PC who use software such as Photoshop CS3, InDesign C3, Dreamweaver have upon registration files on the server an error message:
if the process can not access the file because it is used by another process
If I look on the server, a temporary file is created but 0Ko. I can delete a file against a record becomes inaccessible with the message above.
Park against after a few minutes, I can access anouveau still not save it.
It appears when I copy a folder of photos up to a server, it's also copying some hidden files that nobody can do anything with, causing problems. For instance, say my folder name is Photos, I just drag and drop the entire Photos folder onto the server. But if inside Photos i have a dog.jpg and cat.jpg file, there are also hidden files names ._dog.jpg and ._cat.jpg. it's those two hidden files that are causing problems when people go to work with that folder.is it something in OSX I need to change?
