After creating an animated GIF with Image Reader, I saved as optimized GIF, and uploaded the GIF to an ad server. However, after I posted it to the ad server, it wasn't working...and the properties show that it was converted to a PNG.
My Question:
Was this conversion a result of something I did...or something that needs to be taken care of by the host of the ad server?
I have created 2 web galleries--one html and one Flash. I saved them to my local drive and they work perfectly. Then I uploaded to our server (I checked to see that all folders/files made it, and they did) and then when I access the index.html file, neither the thumbnails or the full-size images show. Here are the two URLs

I copy a .dwg to my remote computer and open it. Then .dwl and .dwl2 are created in same local folder as the .dwg I just opened localy. Then I copy the local .dwl and .dwl2 files back to the remote server in the same location I received the origional .dwg from. Why are those files not locked now from everybody on the network that I am remotly away from?

I am considering a move to DNG conversion so I did some test conversions and was amazed to find that, far from reducing the size of my mRAW files, it increased them by about 60%. I repeated the exercise with RAW files and found that this did reduce the size of the files by over 10%. In fact, i ended up with the crazy situation where the DNG files converted from mRAW were much bigger than those converted from RAW.
Below are some sample sizes based on Medium previews, Embed fast load data - YES, Embed original RAW file - NO, Compatibility Camera Raw 7.1 and later
Before : mRAW 17Mb mRAW 12Mb
After: DNG 28.5Mb DNG 21Mb
Before: RAW 23Mb RAW 22Mb
After: DNG 20Mb DNG 19Mb
If I went for Full Preview, the DNG sizes rose by about 2 Mb
why the mRAW conversion is so inefficient?
I am still not entirely sure whether to adopt DNG but, if i do, it looks like I certainly won't be using mRAW as the source.
Trying to upload pdf to vista print got error make sure all fonts are embedded or converted to outlines and reload Have no clue ??

Now when it's on my hard drive it's fine and works - but when i upload it none on the images show up or they do show but when you put your cursor over a rollover all the images diassapear (they all turn to red crosses).
I just got a new D5, and unloaded the provided software. I'm confused about getting the images into Bridge? I don't want to use the Canon software for any processing, just uploading. Can I store the RAW images, or do I need to convert them so something else?

I've been trying to create a banner that streches using transparent gifs on top of a loaded jpeg background. The gif looks perfect when i save it on photoshop but as soon as i upload it on to the jpeg i get a noisey white line around the outline of the giff, does anyone know how i can minimise or erase this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI open a .NEF in Bridge, go into ACR and open the file as a Smart Object in Photoshop. Double-click the layer icon and I'm back in ACR, just like all the demos and seminars I've watched. But, take the SAME .NEF in Bridge and open it as a standard image in Photoshop, then CONVERT it to a smart object, double-click the layer icon and all I get is a .psd and NOT jump into ACR. It does exactly the same thing with a .dng file And from Lightroom OR ACR...
I found an entry from a discussion (not in here, I couldn't find anything about this in here) about CS3 (yes 3), where a user had this problem and was told it's because the original image was opened as a rasterized image, NOT as a Smart Object from ACR... Which isn't making sense to me 'cause who cares what it was way back when, it's NOW a Smart Object and should be treated like one no matter HOW it got there...
Is there some preference or setting or something I need to change in Photoshop so this will work as expected is is there really some restriction about exactly HOW the Smart Object got created? And if so, is there some paragraph is big, bold letters in the documentation that makes it really clear to the uninformed that you MUST open it as a Smart Object or it won't work?
And yes, I KNOW that in ACR I can set it so it defaults to opening as a Smart Object, but like many other PS users I normally use Lightroom and I haven't seen any such default. Which means it's REALLY easy to forget to go down to the Open as Smart Object and instead just hit Open in Photoshop...
For the past one year I have been regularly editing my photographs in Photoshop (CS5 and CS3) and uploading them on my blog and my fb page.
However since the past 45 days I edited 5 albums in Photoshop but have not been able to upload a single photo on fb or on any other page. I moved browsers trying chrome, fire fox and even IE but nothing worked. I then formatted my laptop and reinstalled CS5 only to know that too was not useful.
I tried editing some photos in basic picassa and that worked well and was able to upload photos on fb and my blog. I then tried uploading some old photos (edited in photoshop) and they are getting uploaded. So I am sure this is a recent problem with photoshop.

View 4 Replies View RelatedElements 11 won't upload raw files from a Nikon D600, I've read the various comments ref Camera Raw Plugins and I've downloaded DNG 7.3 but don't know where to put it. Is DNG 7.3 the same as Camera Raw Plugin 7.3? I have read also that maybe Elements 11 doesn't support 7.3 so may need to use 7.2.

Befoer I bought the program I made sure that it said it would work with .avi files. When I try to upload an avi it says "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".
How do I obain and install the required codec? I have already loaded up all the software that came with the camer, and that software works fine; I assume it already has the required codec. But how can I get Elements to use the codec?
How does one upload photos from Elements to Revel? How does one look at his photos on Revel? You have made a big deal about moving them to Revel. I think that is great but only if one is given enough information to look at the photos. The only way I can see to view them is with a smart phone--not your computer.
