I have photoshop elements 10 and a Canon SL1 camera. My friend has photoshope elements 12 and the same camera. She can "open in RAW" under her drop down "file" menu but I don't find that in my elements 10 program? What gives? How do I open my RAW files in photoshop elements 10?

Elements 11 won't upload raw files from a Nikon D600, I've read the various comments ref Camera Raw Plugins and I've downloaded DNG 7.3 but don't know where to put it. Is DNG 7.3 the same as Camera Raw Plugin 7.3? I have read also that maybe Elements 11 doesn't support 7.3 so may need to use 7.2.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Canon PowerShot camer and make videos using .avi. I just bought the Premiere Elements 11. Befoer I bought the program I made sure that it said it would work with .avi files. When I try to upload an avi it says "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed".
How do I obain and install the required codec? I have already loaded up all the software that came with the camer, and that software works fine; I assume it already has the required codec. But how can I get Elements to use the codec?
I just bought a Canon 6D. I have elements 6 and it does not support the raw files from this camera. Does Elements 12 support the raw files from the Canon 6D?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently traded in my Canon T3i for a T4i, and now PS Elements 10 won't open the CR2 RAW files from this camera. According to "Help - Plug In" I have V 6.7, so I went to the Adobe site which said I needed V 7.1, which I download, and extracted, but it won't install it in the software; when I click on the extracted AdobePatchInstaller application, I get a message stating "Update Failed" and "this patch is not applicable for you". Also, when I click "Help-Updates" it tells me everything is up to date.

I can however import the raw file and then open it to view or edit it. Without the preview option, browsing for your photos is impossible.

We have two Canon cameras - a 450D and a 650D - and have taken RAWs on both. The 450 works fine with PSE6, but we can't get PSE 9 to take a RAW converter new enough to read the 650 files.
We don't really understand the difference between CR2 and DNG so don't know what we might lose if we used the DNG converter for the 650 RAW files.
