View 1 RepliesI'm looking to purchase either Photoshop CS3 or the Creative Suite CS3, but the only operating system I have available is an in-house development server running Windows Server 2003.
I used to run Photoshop 5.5 on Windows Server 2003 without an issue, I wanted to make sure version CS3 will also run on this OS. I know the system requirements say otherwise, but as I said I had it installed on a server OS before with out any issues.
I am having a problem saving files to a Windows 2003 server from PS7 error message of "could not save as serverfolderfilename because disk is full". No problems encountered with PS6 or PS-CS. As the server is in excess of 3 Terabytes I don't think it is a hardware problem. More that it is a problem with PS7 or Windows 2003.

Do I have to deactivate my copy of CS6 before I do a reinstall of the operating system or, will it recognize the reinstall of the program (CS6) as legitimate and just install it with out any problems? I have never done this before with Adobe products.

A thread exists from 2011 that is now closed with a reply from "adobe" saying they are working on providing updated dialogue boxes. [URL] ...
The reply from Adobe stated that they have to support legacy operating systems, which I'm pretty sure is handled by the installer, so it's a sad excuse. One could simply say "if XP" load this dialogue hook, if win 7 use this hook.
What is the status of this lack of effort?
We waste more time trying to save a file with this old school dialogue than is required.

View 31 Replies View RelatedI have a server running Windows 2003 and I need to have limited users be able to run Autocad LT 2012. Every time it runs, Windows Installer pops up for a very short time and AutoCAD never actually runs. I believe that the pop up is for the English Language Pack, but I cannot be positive about it. I have already read the KB article on running as a restricted user, URL.... and the environment does not prevent the user from accessing any of the registry and file locations specified. I have tried many things to get this to work, but nothing seems to do it. One notable thing that I tried was to make the user an admin, run the program, then remove them from the admins group, but as soon as I remove them, they are no longer able to run it.

I installed a trial version of CS4, but had to uninstall because of an error message when I opened an image. Since then I have downloaded the CS4 trial version twice, but can't install anymore. It stops at 90% of system verification, after which nothing happens. I switched off the anti virus and firewall. I cleaned with CC cleaner and Registry mechanic. After the installation programme blocks I find CS4 in the list of installed appliances, even though it is not installed. I can't get rid of it through the Windows uninstaller. I have to use Revo uininstaller.
I currently have 2007 installed on my computer and we just upgraded 2 of our seats to 2013. Can I install 2013 and still have 2007 on the computer? Will that screw up running either one? Will they conflict each other? I will eventually uninstall the 2007 version, but want to get 2013 up and running quickly.

Cannot save or save as to Windows server. Due to "program error." Adobe Photoshop CS5. Can save as fine to local drive. Can also drag and drop in the Finder to this server.
This is Photoshop CS5 12.0.4 (current). Once the error "could not save file name due to a program error" occurs, the file disappears from the Windows server.
I think it has something to due with the SMB connection. All other CS5 apps (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) "save" and "save as" fine. It is also fine performing the same procedure using Preview.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwe have a dilema regarding Backburner 2013:
I work at a studio and we want to buy new servers and we want to purchase Windows Server 2012 wich, from what we read is based on Windows 8 architecture. We read BackBurner 2013's specification and Windows 8 didn't appear as supported.
Our question is: If we buy Windows Server 2012 Enterprise for the render farm will it work with Backburner 2013 without any problem?
Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer!) show that VideoStudio was installed into a sub directory named "Documents," yet that sub directory is empty except for the VS sub-folders.
I want to know whether or not I can delete that particular folder named "Documents" (which includes those VS sub-folders) SAFELY.
All my VideoStudio files are in my own custom-named folder, and seem to be working quite well from there.
NOTE: I tried to provided a jpg graphic showing my situation, but this forum limits the upload file size to a ridiculous 256KB's, which is the size of a postage stamp!
Looks like the format is not forwarded correctly to the printer when printing A3, it comes out as A4. If we change paper format in printer properties to A3 it works fine.
