How to connect to SQL Server 2008 r2 by using Map 3D 2012? I can't to make it. It prompts the message "Invalid connection". I used the IP as the service name of map 3d.
View 9 RepliesWe recently migrated our fileshare project drawings from Window Server 2003 to Window Server 2008-R2 x64...We are experiencing slowness opening or only right click button on more dwg on XP Pro 32/64bit workstation.
Problem repeats if you try to copy many dwg files from windows explorer, right button properties..i have already disabled "validate digital signatures and display special icons" on each machine .There isn't any slowness problem opening files on other application e.g.. Office.
I have loaded the software on my server but wont run. I get the following error details as follows: I have the dump file but not sure what to ddo with it or where to send it. Dont know how to attach it here either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have one computer that can't connect to the Vault Server. It use to work fine and I am not sure what happened. I have gone to the extreme of uninstalling and re-installing and still nothing. I am in the same project as when it was working. I have checked the Application Options Content Center and made sure that the Access Options is set to Autodesk Vault Server.
When I click on Vault Server, everything is grayed out except "Log In" and "Connection Options". If I click on either of them the dialog box goes away and nothing happens. No error dialogs nothing. If I go to the project amd click on the Configure Content Center Libraries button it just disappears and nothing happens. Not sure what else to do.
We have a SQL Server instance that I connect to over our network. I can access it when I log into SQL Server Management Studio. In AutoCAD Map 3D 2014 I do not have the option to "Add SQL Server Connection". I tried using the SQL Server Spatial connection but the database does not have spatial data. I only see a list of tables but they cannot be added as feature classes and display the message "The feature class doesn't exist" when I click on a table. I also don't have the SQL ServerProvider.dll in the FDO folder. I tried copying the .dll from version 2012 but it didn't work.
How do I connect to my non-spatial data in SQL Server? Is this a permissions issue?
Moving to a Windows 2008 Server x64 desktop and notice that when Lightroom is installed it's the 32bit version. On Vista x64 the installer automatically installs Lightroom 64bit. Is there a way to manually select the 64 bit version for install ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI live in a university dorm which requires a proxy server to connect to the internet. Everything else (browser, torrents, skype) all seem to work fine through this connection however I get various error messages when trying to publish, or check or an update in Lightroom.
I'm almost certain it has something to do with the connection because I don't get any of these problems when using another internet source. There don't seem to be any proxy or internet connection settings in Lightroom.
Is there a program available to convert newer Autocad files to older versions? I have a 2012 file that I want to read in 2008.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have drawings that were made in AutoCAD Architecture 2008 that when opened in AutoCAD Architecture 2012, the 0-width walls in the drawing don't show up anymore. The only solution I found was to change the Base Height in the properties of the wall (which I accessed by choosing the zdiagnostics display setting) to 10' instead of the standard 1/2" that we normally use.
I'm guessing it has to do with the wall styles as they were transferred from out 2008 to our 2012 template.
tool palettes from a directory called ACAD2008 to ACAD2012. Tool palettes can't find the associated blocks because the support path still points to the ACAD200 Directory.
Is there a way to "globally" change the associated path? There are too many blocks to think about changing each one manually.
The issue that I am seeing is that BB 2012 is slower at rendering than BB 2008.
1. The server hardware is the same with no other changes other than upgrading to BB 2012. I uninstalled 2008.1 prior to the upgrade.
Looks like the format is not forwarded correctly to the printer when printing A3, it comes out as A4. If we change paper format in printer properties to A3 it works fine.

This has only started happening to all 3 machines we have
Our network is 1GB links, 2 of our computers are massive spec, i5's 16gb ddr3 1600, ssds......., other one slightly older ddr2 no ssd (problem exists on them all)
If we drag the file to the desktop then open, this is instant but reading from the server is being a nightmare!
we have a dilema regarding Backburner 2013:
I work at a studio and we want to buy new servers and we want to purchase Windows Server 2012 wich, from what we read is based on Windows 8 architecture. We read BackBurner 2013's specification and Windows 8 didn't appear as supported.
Our question is: If we buy Windows Server 2012 Enterprise for the render farm will it work with Backburner 2013 without any problem?

My problem is no uvs are kept from original file previously made in solidworks.
When my nurb is selected and i go to uv texture editor is completely blank.
Why my uvs are not kept?
I copy a .dwg to my remote computer and open it. Then .dwl and .dwl2 are created in same local folder as the .dwg I just opened localy. Then I copy the local .dwl and .dwl2 files back to the remote server in the same location I received the origional .dwg from. Why are those files not locked now from everybody on the network that I am remotly away from?
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have been a long user of romcat... but would like to use the new corel connect. i use the folders selected to my HD folder that has all my cdr files (20yrs worth from ver 1). when i type in a search word that is in 100's of my cdr files keywords... connect doesnt display them. In romcat it does display them, even older files, with the same key word. connect only shows cdr files that have in its file name part of the search word, but seems to ignore the key words in the files.
I have all my job files with important key words within them, but the actual file names are simple job numbered names. i noticed on searches from X5 content on dvd, the files also are just numbers, but the search finds key words.

I am using AutoCAD's 2008 DWG to PDF. The quality is good but it does not match the preview. The preview shows the drawing centered. But when I print it and view the PDF, the drawing is off center and cut off. I tried to redefine the sheet size with no borders but it still does not center it.

I have a drawing I've created in Autocad LT 2008 (wall sections) that are viewed in the sheet on their side, I'm tied of drafting sideways. If I group the entire page and rotate, dimenssions and model viewports will not coorperate in the rotation. UCS will allow rotation for view ports, but the command "plan" will not be recognized in paper space. Taking a landscape LAYOUT view and flipping it to portrait that won't wreck notes, leader, dims & viewports?
