Xara :: Produce Brush That Draws Row Of Buntings?
Apr 16, 2013
I want to produce a brush that draws a row of buntings all attached to a rope or tape either using a graphic or a jpg. I have tried everything I know but for the life of me cannot get it to work. I can get the little flags to draw but not from a continuous line.

I am using Xara Extreme 4, and am trying to produce an isometric drawing as I have previously done in CAD software. I have found that the lines drawn do not exactly "snap" to the grid points and some inaccuracy is evident if the drawing is magnified.

I've been playing around with the pen tool and i was wondering whether there was a way of altering the brush dynamics so that when i stroke the path it produces a tapered effect i.e. so that the path starts as a point, grows thicker towards the middle, then tapers back to a point?

Is there any way to add a favorite brush stroke to the list of brush strokes, or do you always have to open the original file to access the brush stroke?

Just a question about adding objects to an arc instead of a whole circle for example using a hearts brush. I draw a circle, convert it to a shape and then bisect it with a line that has also been converted to a shape then I slice and break shapes and now I have a perfect arc but when I go to my brushes and try to add my hearts brush to the arc it like doubles the hearts. Is there anyway to overcome this so that I only have a single row of hearts on the arc. By the way I'm using XaraXtreme Pro 5. T

Are any brush files located in the /templates/eng/brushes directory automatically loaded? Mine did that from a previous version and they survived the upgrade. New brush files seem to be ignored. Is there a regedit tweak for loading the files so that they do not have to be manually loaded? What has to happen to have a brush file recognized by the program so its brushes are an option in the brush menu?

What I am trying to do is to have a flat vector brush in black that I can change to whatever colour I want later just be selecting the colour from the colour bar while I am working.
So. When I edit the brush I go to the fill Properties tab and select 'Local colours replace - all brush colours' and save. The trouble is that it does not seem to save this setting. When I edit the brush again it reverts to 'local colours replace - named colours' I get the same problem if I 'save as new'.

I recently purchased Designer Pro 7 after a trial period. During the trial, I had the default brush gallery, and had also downloaded some additional brushes. After downloading the content pack earlier this week, my brush gallery disappeared. The only brush that is available is the "normal line". All of my "galleries" are checked in the Utilities menu. How to get the brush gallery back?

I seem to be having an issue with polylines and a few other things like rectangle, they will only draw in up and down movements and not draw to the left or right.

For some reason, every time I draw, I'm not getting accuracy from within that circle, but it's like the paintbrush tip is on the top-left OUTSIDE side of the circle.
Using Photoshop CS6 Extended. Genius tablet.
how to edit it so that you don't have to select a specific brush for sensitivity? ALso, is there any way to make the brush sharper and cleaner? It just looks blurry.

I hooked up a VisTablet drawing tablet and am using Photoshop CS2. With the mouse, I can draw curves, zigzags, whatever, but with the pen, I only get straight lines. Is there an option or a preference that makes this do this? How can I undo it if there is one?

I recently upgraded to CS4 from CS2.
When I'm drawing with the Pencil tool at high magnification (1000% or more, doing icon work), the actual pixel changed is not the pixel I click on half of the time. In fact, it often is up to 20 pixels away, so it's not just some snapping problem. Half of the time, it doesn't even change any pixel in my icon (presumably, trying to change a pixel outside the smallish image).
Do I call support to get this logged and have to wait for a fix? Or is there some work-around?

I'm using P&GD2013. I draw with a wacom tablet and use the freehand brush tool in sketch mode with pressure enabled. I want to edit the properties of the brush . The help pages are quite clear except that I can't access the dialog box because the 'edit brush' button is greyed out.

When I use the paint brush tool with my mouse, color set to black, it works fine. But when I use the tablet pen, it draws this fuzzy pinkish black color. What's the problem and how do I fix it?

A friend recently installed photoshopCS3 and she asked me why her lines were choppy. So I looked at her file and sure enough it looked as though there was no anti-aliasing.
So I'm no expert and the only plac I could find out about the anti-alias are the little check boxes under the selection tools. Is there something else that woul dmake this happen? it just shows the black line with no tranparent pixels on either sides etc...?

I’ve just produced a short video, intended for Youtube, but in the ‘Share – create video file’ step can find no options to produce an mp4 file in 16:9. My preferences were set to 16:9 right from the start and all the material is either originally 16:9 or cropped to 16:9, so it would be nice to produce the video as 16:9. I tried a few other file type options that I thought might be suitable for uploading but can’t find anything on offer that would produce a small file size in 16:9.

I am currently deciding whether to invest money in buying Revit LT. I think that I need to do 3D views of interiors as my clients are being asked to provide them for presentation purposes. I would like to know if it is possible to produce decent 3D views in Architecture and render (even in a basic format) them too. If I can do this then I don't need to spend money on Revit LT or similar but maybe just some money on training.

I was wondering, after I make a walkthrough in Revit, Is there a way that I can produce the walk-through into a video which I can open separately (like with windows media player rather than through Revit). If so, how?
I wanted to give a little presentation of the building I had created by showing people a walkthrough of the model, however I thought it would look unprofessional if I have to present it within Revit.

We are currently working on an architecutre project for which we have to make printed curtains/screens. The maximum of one Curtain is about 180 meters (600ft). Over the 180 meters we have a pattern, which makes it not so easy to split files into pieces (color gradients, a.m.m.)
Our printing company suggested us to produce everything in a 1:10 scale (1 meter is 10 centimeters) and in 600dpi and they will scale it up with their rip unit and print it than in 1:1. Final print resolution is therefore 60dpi.
As a start we are doing a 25 meters x 2,5 meters file - which is already super hard on the computer. (all new macs with 16gb ram and adobe creative cloud)
Is there any way of working like with videos - online and offline files? So that we work on a smaller scale and then repeat all the steps on the larger images.
We want to get our workflow optimized as we have to produce 3000 meters of image.

Photoshop CC cannot produce 2 equal batch results ! its skips images at random and even worse skips parts of the batch commands! This makes PSD CC absolute useless in a professional environment, and that Adobe have not fixed this huge bug in the last 5 updates they have done in less than a month is an outrage.

Any way to produce tables, as in an invoice/form, where the outside border has rounded corners? Quite often my print customers want their invoice or statement to have rounded rather than square cornered boxes. When the whole form needs to be done as a table I can't do this. Masking it out works on a solid fill, but not on an outline.

Joined the recent webinar on X4 and very impressed with the product. I currently use Photoimpact X3 but looking to change to the new product.
How do I import photos of all different sizes and output to a 800 x 600 photo suitable for import to a digital photoframe? In Photoimpact, I set up a new image that is 800 x 600, make changes to the photo (crop, hue, etc), resize so that the minimum ht or wdth is 600 or 800, right click, copy, move to new image, paste, then move the image about until I am happy with the finished photo and save to a file that will subsequently be copied to a USB pen drive.

I have done it before (once) using "tiling" but I have forgotten how I accomplished it (and perhaps there is a simpler way)
