Feb 21, 2014I've encountered a strange situation in 9.2.7. If you disable the tabs (uncheck Windows-Show Document Tab) the program doesn't make any backups.

Lightroom :: How To Move Download Backups And Backups Folder To A New Location
Mar 3, 2013I am using Lightroom 4.3 on a windows 7 64 windows computer with two hard drives. One dedicated to running programs and the larger one for storage of all my other stuff. Well my backups and download backups folders are on the smaller drive and I need to move them to the other larger drive. Can I do this without totally freaking Lightroom out?

Jul 2, 2011I cannot find how to show page tabs at the top of my workspace.
I attach a .jpg to show where the tabs are missing (compared with a screen shot of a video that has the tabs in-place).
I am sure they were there originally but cannot restore them (I tried widows -> control bar -> reset, but that didn't work).

Occasionally, clicking the Model or other layout tab results in no action, as if I'm not clicking on it.
All other controls (within and external to C3D) function normally so it's not a mouse hardware issue.
It will usually correct itself if I "restore down" the main application window, then maximize it again.
The -layout command is a workaround too.
Photoshop :: 5.1 Bombs When Not In Use And Often Disables Keyboard?
Jan 26, 2012I'm using Mac OS X 10.7.2 on an Intel Core 2 Duo IMac. A few months ago I downloaded PhotoShop 5.1 after having used every previous issue of PhotoShop without a problem.
1. Often when I have Photoshop open on my desktop but not actively using it, it will freeze and I'll have to force quit and restart. When I installed the latest version of InDesign and Illustrator they would also freeze when not in use, however removing and resinstalling them seemed to fix the problem for them, but not for Photoshop.
2.I will be working along on a project when suddenly all of the alphanumerical keys on my keypad won't work. I ultimately have to restart the Mac to get them to work again in any program. This never happens with any other program and I have tried othe keypads, even one just out of the box, and it's always the same.
I have removed and reinstalled Photoshop twice, but still the same issues.I have called the Adobe helpline and tried all of their fixes, but it still happens. They resolved that it must be my Mac. But Mac says because it is related to a specific software it is not their problem.
Lightroom :: Keep Old Backups?
Mar 18, 2012Wnever I close Lightroom (3.6) I use the option to back up the catalog. So I have loads of backup files on my HD. Is there any reason to keep anything except the latest one?

Dec 19, 2012I subscribe to Creative Cloud and while Ai has proven to be exceedingly crashy, Ps CS6 Ext et al, have performed quite nicely..I was working yesterday with Ps, Ai, Id, and Br, all at once, going back and forth from one app to the other (working on an art book) without any problems at all.
All of a sudden, the next day I get the following alert when launching Ps CS6 Ext: What the heck hardware could it be referring to since I have not installed or uninstalled anything at all! My graphics card appears to have more than sufficient memory, as shown below, and do not experience any problems with 3D functions in any other app.I downloaded the latest version of the graphics driver as suggested in the alert but to no avail; .
Lightroom :: How To Manage Backups
Oct 23, 2012I want to backup my catalog. Specifically, I want to store 2 backups for each catalog.I know how to back them up. I know how to make them backup to a different drive from the catalog. But I'm getting stuck managing the backups.
Catalog backup structure is like this backup folder/date and time/catalog name.lrcat
Say I have a client called "Bob and Sue". I might edit the catalogue every day of the week and take a backup each time - giving me 5 backups. I also have a client called Dick and Jane that I edit on Monday and Wednesday and another called Wendy and Steve that I edit only on Monday.
At the end of the week here is what my backup structure looks like. (I've dropped some times in to make things tidy)
backups/Monday 1100/BobandSue.lrcat
backups/Monday 1115/WendyandSteve.lrcat
backups/Monday 1200/DickandJane.lrcat

Photoshop :: OpenGL Disables In Full Screen Mode?
Jan 9, 2013Been using CS6 PS since Beta. No problems till 13.1.1 came out. I'm in Full Screen Mode 95% of the time and 100% when I'm retouching.After the most recent update OpenGL funtions will become disabled when I go to Full Screen Mode. This is very annoying! My MBP is connected to a 30in Dell Ultra.

Photoshop :: Clone Stamp Tool Disables Keyboard
Jul 8, 2012I'm working on an iMac, OSX (10.7.4) with CS5.1. Ever since I uploaded my new Photoshop program months ago, it disables the alphanumeric keys on my key pad when I use the clone stamp tool. I have to restart my computer in order for my keyboard to work again.
I have talked to Adobe service multiple times, had the software replaced, had a service agent work with my machine from a distance, discussed the problem with Apple (they say it's an Adobe issue), paid a professional to resolve it, reinstalled the software multiple times and ways, worked in safe mode, worked as another user, but the problem persists.
I am a full-time graphic designer with my own business and usually have Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop all open at the same time, so when I have to restart it is a major problem that I encounter multiple times during my work day.
I wish I had never purchased the upgrade and now fear CS6. What can I do?

Sep 3, 2012I just finished a project in Vx5 pro but was unable to save it. When I tried to save it I got a message "could not save data" and the program shut down. Usually after a computer crash etc when I open Video studio again I get a message "would I like to reload the previous project", however on this occasion it didn't give me that option.
I have it set to do auto backups every 5 minutes but can't find where they are stored. I can rebuild the project but would save heaps of time if I could find the backups.

Lightroom :: 5 - Custom Camera Profile Disables External Editing?
Nov 15, 2013I'm using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS5. The problem is that if I apply a custom camera color profile created by X-Rite Passport Color Checker, I can no longer use an external editor, such as Photoshop, to edit my photos. Before I apply the custom profile, the external editor function works just fine. If I apply a custom profile in the Camera Calibration panel, then the ability to use external editors no longer works. There is no error message, but nothing happens when I try to edit in an external editor. If I go back and turn off the custom profile and go back to Adobe Standard, then the external editor function works again. What is going on? Is there a way to make it possible to apply a custom profile in Camera Calibration and still be able to use the external editors?

Jun 18, 2013I have set the automatic backups to end up in a specific folder on an external hard drive, which is always on. However, none of the auto backups end up there. They end up in the same folder as the actual file on my regular HD - which absolutely defies the purpose of having a backup on a different medium. I wish I could attach a screenshot of the setting page to prove my point, but Corel has not advanced to that level yet as it seems. Not even in "Support", which, unless you own the latest version of a Corel software, is non-existing anyway.

Apr 12, 2010Over the past year we have had a problem arise on three projects and I can't seem to track down the cause. The first job it only happened once, the second it happened a few times and now on this third project it has happened twice in three days.
The issue is the dst file becomes corrupt and all of our sheet set info is lost. The backup of the dst file is overwritten every few minutes it seems and by the time we notice a problem, the backup has been overwritten by the corrupt file.
A few questions:
1) What is causing the problem? In reading other posts it seems to have something to do with more than one user writing to the file at the same time (but, this last time it happened, only one person in the office was working on the job).
2) Can we change the time between backups?
3) Is there an easier way to rebuild the sheet set?

Apr 11, 2013when I look in the Folder "name_backup", there are rws-Files with dates of today and yesterday. But when I open this folder with the backup/restore function, the latest recoverable backup is only a few hours old.
Is this correct or is there a way to extend the list of restorable backups?
Lightroom :: 4 Continues To Corrupt Catalog Backups?
Nov 24, 2012Each time I try and make a backup of my catalog, LR4 corrupts it.
This all started when I got my first error message after LR4 crashing on me when I attempteped select "Always write changes into XMP" from off to on in the catalog settings window. I of course didn't freak too much because I knew I had a back up. When I went to open the back up I got the corrupt catalog error again. Not to freak just yet because I have my entire Photo drive being backed up each night to another drive via a backup program. This time I made a copy of the LR4 catalog from the backup drive and replace the corrupt one on my main Photo drive. It opens and I feel like a bad *** because all this backup obsession is being put to use and working. I do a bunch of work with new imports and some old projects the rest of my day. Once finished I decide to close LR4 and make a fresh backup of the catalog using LR4 backup feature. To my surprise, it goes corrupt again corrupting the backup and the main catalog. Now I have hours of work wasted because I haven't run the nightly backup yet. I researched methods for fixing a corrupt catalog and have been mostly successful.
This all being said, what is it that causing my catalog to continue to go corrupt when doing the LR4 backup procedure? One additional piece of the story is that after the initial LR4 crash I lost the Photo drive from the desktop. Meaning somehow it unmounted itself. I did a reboot and it was back.
Lightroom :: Retrieving Lost Files From Backups?
Jun 10, 2013I deleted some RAW files from my hardrive and while they still appear in lightroom, it says they are missing or unsupported. I backed these files up through lightroom but when i try to access the backups catalog I only get blank screens. Is there a way for me to get some of these files back through the backups? I have a PC and am using Lightroom 4.3 I think.

Aug 8, 2013When I converted from LR 4 to LR5 my catalog was and is still called: Lightroom 4 Catalog-2-2. I would prefer it be called Lightroom 5 Catalog. How do I do this?
Now as far as backups go, are they simply copies of my catalog? I have several Backups that I want removed but I am have to be sure I am removing a backup and not the catalog itself? I also prefer that the backup be stored in My Pictures/Lightroom Backups. How do i do this?
Can I remove all backups except for the most current, in this case, 2013-06-27-2100, modified on 08/05/2013?
Why are my backups going into a folder dated June? Shouldn't a backup be created that has the actual date of the backup?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Only One Constrain Disables Moving Of Part Instance Within An Assembly
Apr 26, 2013sometimes when using constraints the "movable" part is fixed after adding the first constraint.
If i use i.e. a surface to surface constraint the movable part should be free to slide on the surface.
To move the part in this case I have to add further constraint or delete the old one.
Furthermore sometimes constraints in assemblys do not update automatically. I have to click on the part and try to move it away. After releasing the part the consraint will be updated.
Are there any options to control or better change this behavior?
I am using Inventor 2013+Vault 2013.
