VideoStudio :: IPhone 4S Video Causing 10 Plus To Crash
May 3, 2013
I've just got an iPhone 4S and shot a test video to edit. However, when I load it and try to create a file, VS10+ crashes every time within a few seconds.
All I'm doing is trying add a few simple titles with the output file being 'same as project settings' so the output should be mpg4, PAL, 720 x 576. This is the first time I've tried editing iPhone video and I've never had this problem with any stuff that I've edited in the past.
I just set up a new rig (specs below) and everything was going great. I added a second monitor and suddenly PS CS6 starts crashing randomly. I think I discovered that PS will not support a dual monitor config if each monitor is on a different video card.
My main monitor (30" dell) is powered by an ATI Raedeon HD 4850. My secondary monitor (HP Elite L2201x) is powered by the on board Intel HD Graphics 4000 because the display only uses Display Port. Both are supported cards and PS runs fine with either one used independently with or without GPU support.
When I have BOTH connected the Graphics Processor Settings box is greyed out and when I mouse over that section the description box below says "Graphics hardware acceleration is unavailable. You will need to upgrade your video driver and possibly your video card" and the programs crashes randomly. The same behavior occurs regardless of on which monitor PS is being displayed.
I have attempted to tweak BIOS settings to establish a hardware priority so PS would only see one card but to no avail. As this issue prevents me from using my second monitor entirely (I use PS daily), I'd really like to get it resolved.
I am running XP and X5 Ultimate. My workflow follows :
File Insert media file to library Insert Digital media Select drive in import from digital media box Start
Then the screen goes black and the PC reboots with an error report box showing. The DVD has a UDF file system and it is 2.32GB and plays in Power DVD OK.
I didn't have any problems with transition effect, but suddenly, some effects, like flip album and the ProDad plugin are causing VS to hang and not respond: flip album is causing the hang just after the automatic preview (can't turn this off) and just clicking on the ProDad plugin is freezing VS. They are also causing the rendering process to hang (turned off smart rendering as well).I've reinstalled the software wituhout SP2 and still the problem persists. No matter what kind of media I insert before or after the transitions, the problem is the same.I assume there is some kind of incompatibilty between VS and some OS/driver update - any way to know for sure?
I am trying out video editing for the first time and I am trying out the VideoStudio Pro X5 Ultimate.
But each time I drag a MOV file from my Phone into the program it doesn't display the video. I can hear the Audio but the picture is blank. I have Re-installed Quicktime but I still get the same problem.
So to share an iphone 4s video, what are the best output settings, to retain the .mov settings, so that there is the least amount of re-encoding, which presumably will be the fastest?
I have registered my product. When I log in, I see it in the list.I have no "Support code".I have spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to send them the dump that the program says I should send them so they can find their problem.
In general, I'm very happy with CVS. I've used X5 and just bought X6. So I'm not a whiner.Get it together for support. When you put so many roadblocks in the way of sending you a bug report, you reduce the quality of your product. If you are going to have such a difficult support policy, then the program should have sent the dump automatically to you.
I want to render a video that consists of two parts: A small intro (8 sec) and a video (~2min). I want to render it on iPhone 4/iPad HD (720p). Now, after rendering the intro (~9%) the program crashes with the message "Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 doesn't respond..." System Specs in profile.
I upgraded to VS X4 SP1 having successfully used its predecessors for many years. However, I now cannot burn a DVD as it fails in the Converting Video of the title (001/001] step.
My clips are captured by firewire from a Sony camcorder in DVI format. In this project I am using transitions, moving menus, 12 chapters and titles extensively.
My workflow is as follows: Share, Create Disc, DVD, Use first clip as introductory video is unchecked (patched dll file for Unknown Error installed), use Smart Scene Menu, Burn. Timeline is 1:26:54:22 so I select Yes to fit to DVD. PC crashes anywhere between 6 and 18 minutes later. Do not convert compliant MPEG files is checked.
I have tried various other things and can successfully burn a video under 30 min on the timeline without and transitions, chapters or menus.
My project properties are Microsoft AVI, PAL 25fps, 24 bits, 720x576, 4:3, Lower Field First, DV Video Encoder - type1
Clip properties are the same with 32000kHz, 12 bit Stereo audio as per attached file.
The converting video of the title step takes up to 30 min to complete for a 20 - 30 minute project, so seems like a proportionally high time of total job.
For some reason I can upload an mp4 video files into the Video Studio, but as soon as I want to work with it the program crashes down, announcing an unknown mistake. Is there any way to prevent this?
I've acquired the Corel Video Studio Pro x4 recently, and across an unplesant problem shortly after instalation. The "create video file" makes the program crash every time i press it.
I am doing simple extrusions in 3D. One or 2 extrusions in a document. Specifically, earrings. I have to save every few steps , because PS is going to crash at least once per hour.
My computer has 12GB RAM, and a 1GB GPU. My MAC is less than a year old. It should be able to handle the workload.
When I'm doing 3D I shut down all other programs on my computer.
I have turned up all the preferences inside PS pertaining to performance.
When I save a document the SAVE time is 3-7 seconds. Each time I hold my breath that it doesn't fail.
I am using X5 on a Win 7 64 bit system. I am having an issue with colors that manifests itself in 3 ways: When I try to change a color from rgb or cmyk to PMS, the program freezes and gives the error message that CorelDraw has stopped working. Files that have been created using more than one palette will not open on this system - although they will open fine on other machines running X5. Finally, if I even mouse-over the color palettes tab from the "Windows" drop-down menu the same thing happens.
I have used F8 to reset the workspace and when that did not work, I re-installed Coreldraw with the same result.
So A client hires a designer to create a vehicle wrap. He does it in Photoshop. If you have not done vehicle wraps before you DO NOT DESIGN IN PHOTOSHOP!!! Anyway, he sends me a link to download a psb file. Another bad sign. Means the file is huge! 1 hr to download. I open it in photoshop (at least he left it unflattened) and reduce it down enough to make a psd with layers intact. I then import it into Corel and begin placement into the vector vehicle template. Once I get all the images fiting nicely I hit save. Come back to it the next day and it won't open. Message says a bitmap is not right "Abort, Retry or Ignore" I try the backup file, same error. I try to move a copy to my hard drive instead of working over the network. No go! Try rebooting, no go! Rebuilt the file agian and saved that version to my desktop. Saved successfully, made a couple changes and then CorelDraw crashes and shuts down. Try to reopen the file and same errors occur.
I'm creating a macro to run on creation of a new assembly from a particular template. I created a macro named autonew in the template's VBA project file. It works great except for one thing: if the user presses "Cancel" on my form, I want to not only unload the form but also close the file. For this case I've used:
ThisApplication.ActiveDocument.Close True
I've created a test template assembly with only this line in autonew, and it crashes Inventor. The same line of code an a non-autonew module within the template file's VBA project closes the document without error or crashing. I assume this is a bug and not as designed.
Is this a bad way to accomplish the task of closing a newly created assembly? Even if this isn't the preferred approach, I don't think this should cause a crash.
I want to know if it is possible to creat a script that will rotate the cam wheel show at the pivot point, while causing the rectangle to oscillate up and down in cadence with the ppoint of the whell that is contacting it.
I have a simple script that rotates the cam wheel, but every time I run it, AC crashes. I am on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and I have installed the latest service pack. Here is the script:
rotate g 1
45.5447,44.7299 1 rscript
I'm not sure what other information you may need to diagnose this, so just let me know. There is no error message given, it just freezes up.
We have a work station with C3D 2013 that has started crashing when trying to open the pipe network vista. We have to edit the pipes using pipe properties for the individual pipes. This makes it difficult when trying to edit a large network. The drawings work fine on other computers. It has something to do with the settings on this machine. What would be causing the crash when trying to open the vista window?
I am currently experiencing problems trying to import iPhone 4 video into After Effects CS5.
Firstly i'd like to note that the video plays perfectly fine on the iPhone, VLC and in Quicktime Player. The audio and video is in sync.
When I add the footage to After Effects the video becomes slightly out of sync with the audio. I have noticed this in RAM preview and also in renders I did just to test.
I also want to note that, both my iPhone and After Effects have latest software updates.
I took a short video on my iphone of my sister-in-law's wedding. I want to transfer the video to my CS6 Cloud. Can this be done? Can I transfer it to photoshop or is there another part of the CS6 that would work better for this type of project? I have "streaming" from my iphone to my mac computers and the pictures go into my iphoto library. Can I "stream" the video to photoshop instead and then create "still shots" so I can edit individual photos to put in a wedding album?
I'm a complete amateur and did some stupid things. Like shoot everything on my iPhone at 120fp.
Everything imported fine and played great in the the Source and Program monitors, and I could drag any of the clips into the Timeline and they would all play fine, all at normal speed (30fps).
When I fully render them, however, they play in the Timeline at 120fps, and the audio stays the same. In the montors they still play at 30, though. When they're just rendered for playback ("yellow"), it's fine. I would leave them unrendered, excpet sometimes they get rendered automatically, and I can never get back to regular playback speed for those clips.
But even better, when I export, all is well, and is at 30fps.
So, is there some way to make them play at 30fps, even when fully rendered, in the Timeline? Or even if there's just a way to convert them. (I'm likening the framerate thing to audio sampling rate. And made similar mistakes back in the day!) I looked at the "Interpret" option, but must not have fully understood it, since the results were disastrous.
Anyhow, that's about it. I'm not sure if it's germaine, but I did also bring in some 30fps stock footage. Just did a straight import. Same thing happened.
In Pro Tools, you can change the sampling rate of a "Session", is there a similar setting that I'm missing?
I just upgraded to x4 from x2. Using x4, if I render to the iphone h.264 640x480 template, rendering seems to complete normally, progress bar goes to 100%, but after that no file is created and no file plays (if autoplay is checked).
I experimented with making a custom h.264 template, and found that this always happens if audio is aac 48000. If I change to 44100, everything works.
After I transfer iPhone 4 videos (Quicktkime .MOV) to my computer, I can load them into the Corel Library without a problem, but if I try to play one of the clips, I get fine audio but with a black picture. If I drag one of the videos into the project and then play the project, I get video, but it is choppy. These .MOV videos play fine in other programs that I play them on.
I was using Ulead VideoStudio SE and 12.0 without any issues but ever since I tried a trial version of X3 or X4 I'm unable to render videos properly with SE and 12.0 using SmartRender. What happens is after 8 minutes, the sound of the video stops and when the sound comes back on, the frames start freezing. This issue occurred before and I removed the trial versions and reinstalled all my drivers, etc. to fix the problem. But now I tried doing the same thing and it's not working. I even tried to cleanup everything of Ulead and Corel on my system, but the render issue still occurs.
How can I remove libraries without causing Load Stream Error. Should I delete all the contents first? I have created several libraries for my individual projects but whenever I have finished with one and try to remove (delete) it I get this error message and have to reset to factory defaults. This means losing the libraries I still want to use.
Lightroom 5 on OSX 10.9.1 will crash after a few seconds of displaying/selecting items if a video fie is present in that library folder. In Console, I get these messages every second until I force quit Lightroom:
([0x0-0x978978].com.adobe.dynamiclinkmanager.application[3472]) Job appears to have crashed: Abort trap: 6 Saved crash report for dynamiclinkmanager[3472] version 7.0.0 (7.0.0.0) to /Users/[Username]/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/dynamiclinkmanager_2 014-01-21-102549_[Computername].crash
Unfortunately I'm not sure if the issue was already present before the 10.9.1 OSX update or with previous versions of Lr.
I have three monitors connected to two separate graphics cards, an 8800GT and an FX5200 (PCI). Now, this setup works fine in regular XP Pro, with driver 175.19; Photoshop CS4's OpenGL works without a problem save for the brush cursor bug. However, I installed Vista x64 as a dual boot for the RAM boost, and ran into a bit of a wall.
Photoshop now refuses to work at all with the OpenGL enhancements on. It loads (an improvement in itself, used to get stuck at "Reading preferences"), but it'll freeze when I try to open a file or go to the performance settings. I'm currently using driver 171.16; I know it's outdated, but it's the most recent one that works with both cards in Vista x64. I'm also quite sure it's not the problem; Photoshop works perfectly with OpenGL on if I disable the FX5200.
I've tried the registry key AllowOldGPUs_ON to no effect. I've also tried both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions, with no difference. Is it possible to get Photoshop working with both cards, short of replacing the FX5200?

I'm relatively new when it comes to 3D applications.Basically, I have created a scene of the Earth from space, and have managed to create a relatively good looking still image.
However, for my project I need a full 3D environment map, and so far I have been unable to produce this with the environment map option in the rendering tab. Basically when moving the camera, the background stays exactly the same, but I want the background image to pan aswell - having a fixed image makes no sense when panning around a 3D scene if I'm being clear :/
I tried to use video post, but every time I try to execute the render Max hangs on "Transforming Vertices". It does this on full scenes and totally blank scenes, but so far has only done it when rendering a camera view, not perspective. The only way out of Max is to close it from the task manager when this happens. I searched all day yesterday for a solution to this, but the only thing I could find was to alter the bitmap pager, which 2011 doesn't allow customization of.
So after I gave up on Video Post ever working, I rendered the inside of a tube with a star map. I have problems with the texture looking right when I do this however, it looks stretched, blurred, and the joins between faces are very apparent.how to make an environment map fully wrap around the scene, and pan with the camera.
I recently purchased Video Studio Pro X3 - and after going through the knowledge base and product read me, I have been unable to find an answer to the following problem I have:
PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.
as I have 30 videos to edit, so looking for ways to save time!
