VideoStudio :: Export Part Of Timeline To New Video File?

Is it possible to export a part of the timeline to a new video file?
So if I have a 10 min video in the timeline, I would like to "mark in" and "mark out" from 3m02s to 5m30s, and create a new file.
I used to use Edius I could mark in and mark out from time to time and export to a new video file. Is there a workaround in Videostudio ?
I'm editing a training video, and would like to export different "chapters" to seperate video files, so I can upload the seperate videos to the web, and not have to export the entire video, as this would be too big.

How do I export my video to 720p mp4 file format?
I can't find the option. In fact I can't find many options. The custom settings are not very custom really as the choice is very limited or none.

I'm currently working on a video that has alot of individual pictures etc in the timeline. I would like to delete a few of the pictures from the video. when I delete the pictures I get an opening in the video that I don't wish to have. How do I shift the entire video over to fill that gap? On the flip side of the coin. Is there a way to insert a clip into the timeline and shift everything down around the inserted clip?

I'm running X4. I have 3 minutes of photos with text and audio narrative at the beginning of my project. When I try to add the first video clip to let's say 3:01 of the project, the video track pins itself to 0:00...I don't see how to set it free...

I am a new VS6 user (coming from Pinnacle Studio). Is there a way to display the video and the video's audio waveform on the timeline at the same time. I see where I can select the Sound Mixer button above the timeline, which does show the audio waveform, but then the video thumbnails disappear.
2nd question, when I put a fade-to-black transition between two clips, it seems like the clips' audio does not get faded out then in with the next clip. Do I have to add a separate audio fade for every video fade?

how do i add a video in the middle of timeline without changing the sync between other videos/audios in the rest of timeline ?
for example when i add a video(30sec.) at min.(1) , all the videos after min.(1) is shifted for 30 sec. , but all audios+images+titles (AFTER 1st min.) is still in it's same time , so the syncing is gone.

I recently got a new pc, installed X3 and transferred my project files and relinked my clips for the current project i'm working on but when I went to preview my work it does not display the video instead just shows a green screen. It does this in both the timeline and the preview window.

I downloaded the trial version of VideoStudio 4 Pro to try it out and I like the interface and the ease of use. My problem is that when I capture MPEG 4 files in the timeline and go to replay them, the sound and video are very choppy and the replay skips the whole way through.
I converted the MPEG 4 files to wmv, and the video was smooth but I lost some of the image clarity in the converting process. I don't think it's my computer because the MPEG 4 files play nicely on MediaPlayer - just not on VideoStudio.

My question is, does Videostudio X5 have the capabilities to either:
A) Batch convert while using one or more of the FX
B) Export multiple clips in one go from the timeline?
I have 120+ short video clips that I need to crop to a different size. I've figured out how to crop them to the size I need by using the "Croping" function in the FX. There seems to be no way however to apply this to all the clips at once in the Batch Convert.
The only way I can do it is to import all of the individual clips to the timeline and then export them individually...one at a time....taking a lot of my time. I notice they all retain their same file names in the timeline. Isn't there a way I can select all of them at once and export them with their individual file names all in one go (with any FX I've added)?

WHen i try to add MP4 file using videostudio pro x 3 in the timeline , i get this error below . THe file type is MPEG 4 media file.
When i convert it to WMV file , it works . videostudio can have a patch and fix this because it takes me so long to convert from MP4 to WMV . This file type is now Windows Media Movie.

I recently purchased Video Studio Pro X3 - and after going through the knowledge base and product read me, I have been unable to find an answer to the following problem I have:
PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.
as I have 30 videos to edit, so looking for ways to save time!

I am having a difficult time Exporting my 640 X 360 Video In an Mpeg Format, I am making a YouTube Video in 640 X 360 ( 360P I believe the size is called ) only because that is what my source video size is. Under the Project Properties there are 2 format types available, MPEG and AVI. Under MPEG Project Options --> General, I have only 4 sizes to choose from in the frame size box, 720 x 480 - 704 X 480 - 352 X 480 - 352 X 240, And the user defined selection bullet is GREYED out.
Is it possible that because im using the trial version that I just cannot fully use the software, If so then I can go back and install my VideoStudio X4, I was hoping to Upgrade to X5 because I can directly import my Paint Shop Pro Layers as well as CorelDRAW too.

My Corel VS X6 Pro is crashing during a MPEG-4 1920x1080 export at 69% complete. Happened twice in a row. The error message refers to this dump file. I have been able to export this same video before, this just started happening.
I tried to add the dump file as an attachment but the .DMP extension is not allowed.

Videostudio X3 crashes everytime I try to export a video. It doesn't matter the file type inputed or how you are trying to export it. It even crashes when trying to export one of the default title screens included with the program. Have tried a clean install with no luck. I have also insured I am using the latest version.

I am unable to insert a MP4 file from a GO PRO HD camera into the timeline.
i get a " file format mismatch" error message
I have read several posts relating to VS10 & other versions, but not VS11+
i tried changing the file extension to .MPEG-4 but this did not work

I have already more than 100 projects running under VS X4 it is problematic to jump to other software, also because of spending 2 years studying Corel VS.I have found now (2 years to late) the top very stable professional software with Edius 6.06.
What happens.... In new installed VS X4 if i put a videofile on the timeline and go to SHARE >MAKING VIDEOFILE MENU....the computer breaks down, and gives the error: " VS X4 does not work anymore..... " and stops working, realy breaking down....
Have tryed it lots of times, it looks like at installing the program, the link to the output formats is not there and VS X4 does not now how to handle.....Yes I am going over to the professional software edius 6, but with a usermanual with 1000 pages i need studying at least one year on that....

I have registered my product. When I log in, I see it in the list.I have no "Support code".I have spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to send them the dump that the program says I should send them so they can find their problem.
In general, I'm very happy with CVS. I've used X5 and just bought X6. So I'm not a whiner.Get it together for support.When you put so many roadblocks in the way of sending you a bug report, you reduce the quality of your product.If you are going to have such a difficult support policy, then the program should have sent the dump automatically to you.

I've been searching and trying to see if there's a way that I can make my video right under 500mb, basically so I can have the best quality possible but still be under Vimeo's 500mb upload limit. It's not a long video, it's slightly under 2 minutes, but I've tried about 10 different export options and they're either around 100mb and the quality is awful, or they're gigantic files.
Is there a way that I can set it to close to 500mb? I'm using Video Studio Pro X5.

I create short videos using the PS frame animation panel. I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page. If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. ADOBE WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR EXPORT VIDEO RENDERING OPTIONS in CS6?

I'm familiar with using photoshop edit photos, but new to video. Currently using Photoshop CC, I want to use Photoshop to edit some short video clips, after apply curve adjustment layer. try to render the video but encounter this problem.
"Could not complete the Render Video command because of a problem with Adobe Media Encoder."
I search for solutions from the net but can't find any answer can solve the problem, I have also update the Adobe Media Encoder, and check I have the latest version of Photoshop, but the problem persist.

We have an idw package we use for Quality control. This idw has more than one sheet. Each sheet has a part placed on the sheet with dims.( DWF attached). Next we open DA inside of the file and run a report. (exported txt attached). I am trying to use ilogic the make the same report with a iLogic browser button pick. My latest problem is file formats! I have two cameras, one of which produces .AVI video format. I have found that Corel does not "read" this format - or am I wrong? I am working from a card reader. I have succeeded in using the latter files in VS but only by converting to MP3. I don't want to part with this very handy camera so am I missing something in that perhaps I can change some setting to enable Corel to recognise .AVI files? I don't want to have to use the editing suite which came with my Traveller camera. I have found it is easy to load via Picasa - which accepts many formats - but it's when I come to insert media file to the VS library that the trouble starts - obviously because the files are .AVI.

I recently purchased Corel Video Studio Pro X6. So far it has worked great except for one issue. When using it to make DVD's, the file take up far more room than the actual file size is.
I've converted old VHS tapes to .mpg files and I planned on using Corel to create DVD's, with menus, for my family. I ran into the issue of the files being far too big, so after some research I discovered that .mpg files were not size efficient. I then used Corel to convert them to .mp4 files. So now, for example, a file that was 1.06GB (.mpg) is no 70.7MB (.mp4). So on disc the files are considerably smaller, with little to no video/audio loss. But, once I opened up Corel and started a new project and tried to use the new smaller files they still take up just about the same amount of space on the DVD's. On my HDD all of the converted files take up the same amount of disc space as just a few of the original files. Yet on the DVD I can still only fit 3-4 videos.

I just downloaded/installed Video Studio X4 Pro. Quite impressive. I've been using Roxio but too many problems so wanted to see if Corel is better. Have a minor problem that I haven't been able to solve. Background: I have 16 individual videos of foreign "soap operas" (all approx 3.7gb). All videos are either mpeg2 or avi. I copied all of them with no problem. Then, I wanted to eliminate some useless things at the beginning and end of each one. I went into a video editing program and trimmed approx 5 secs from the beginning and end of each video. After the trimming, I saved the videos to my hard drive in the My Videos folder in the Libraries. Then, because of some difficulties with Roxio, I decided to try Corel.
When I import a video, click on Tools, Create Disc, DVD, unmark Menu, then Burn, I always get the error telling me the total size is larger than the chosen project. This is what I don't understand. If the video, which is approx. 3.7gb,and I'm using a 4.7gb dvd, why am I getting this error? FYI: I went ahead and clicked on Yes, try to fit to disc, and after approximately 45 mins, it completed, ejected the disc and all I had was approx. 1/8" burn area. The properties of that disc showed it was a video.ts and when I clicked on it, the windows player opened and said can't be rendered. I don't under stand why X$ Pro says a 3.7gb video is over 7gb.
