I have tried to insert a mp4 video file into the timeline and it just does not see the file and if I navigate to it and try open it does nothing
I have download all patches This videostudio pro x3 came loaded on the laptop the mp4 file is from a olympus sp-800 us - I took it from the sd card and put it in a folder on the hard drive
I read all the things people have written I am not at the point of trying to create file I can not import the file at all
certainly the topic has already been covered but with the hundreds of responses I struggle to find it, then propose it a new:
how do I put in the time line already been settled for good, a video clip so that the whole time line moves?
Note: I added the other video clips in many 4-track, not using the main track, which is empty. So should I insert a video clip that I had forgotten about 20 minutes before the end, so you have to move automatically all the work (including effects, subtitles, etc), so it all coincides, without having to move the whole hand. ...
When I select Create DVD in X4, I get a pop-up dialog that allows me to insert my files into the "timeline" for creating the DVD. I can Add, I can change the DVD type, but I don't know how to continue. The Next button is grayed out, the tab for setup 2 is also grayed out, and there is no way for me to figure out What to do to create the menu and continue.
I am using X2. I have been capturing video from my camera with no problems. Today, I set it up again and now can't capture. When I press capture video, it runs for 10 seconds and then give a message that capture failed, file is corrupted and unusable and of course stop capturing.
I can't figure out anything that I am doing different than before when I captured successfully. I have restarted my camera, my computer, and video studio all with the same results. During the 10 seconds, I am getting video to my computer.
WHen i try to add MP4 file using videostudio pro x 3 in the timeline , i get this error below . THe file type is MPEG 4 media file.
When i convert it to WMV file , it works . videostudio can have a patch and fix this because it takes me so long to convert from MP4 to WMV . This file type is now Windows Media Movie.
I'm using Panasonic NVGS-25 camera + windows7 home premium + videostudio X5. When i connect my cam via FireWire, system see it and opens new window with proposition to capture video with VideoStudio, but when VS runs, it says that no devices detected or no drivers for it.
Is it possible to export a part of the timeline to a new video file?
So if I have a 10 min video in the timeline, I would like to "mark in" and "mark out" from 3m02s to 5m30s, and create a new file.
I used to use Edius I could mark in and mark out from time to time and export to a new video file. Is there a workaround in Videostudio ?
I'm editing a training video, and would like to export different "chapters" to seperate video files, so I can upload the seperate videos to the web, and not have to export the entire video, as this would be too big.
I have a new notebook with intel I7 processor, 8 GB memory and 500 GB 7.200 drive. I captured successful the video from my Sony camera, cutted the video, produced a DVD and enjoyed afterwards the video. To back-up the video on a tape normally I generate a video file in my Video Studio x3 (latest version) and transfer it back to the tape on my video camera. This isn't working in the right way due to stuttering after 10-15 minutes transfering back. After restarting the transition the time until stuttering starts is then less then 10 minutes, next time less then 5 minutes.
There is any simple method to insert/add a clip on timeline without its sound? I know the methods of locking the audio track in the sequence or deleting the audio track of the clip but I'd like to have some simple shortcut like Option+drag or something similar. There is any?
The capture went just fine when digitizing my tape and the .mov file has both audio and video during playback in both quick time and Adobe Premeir Pro, but when I drag it into the time line only audio will show up. Even weirder it's 4 layers of audio instead of just one audio and one video. This only began with videos that I catured today. When using footage I captured on a previous day it works just fine. What went wrong? Where's my video!?
I have a new mini recorder which records 720x480 at 29.897 fps. Video studio says Unable to open file *****.avi for all of the files. They play perfectly well with MS media player, VCL, Quicktime etc so what is wrong ?
I opened a previously saved project and all the AVI files have blank spaces. When I click properties it says the file is unreadable. When I try to open the file it says unable to open file, catastrophic failure.
These are the same files that I used to edit and render a video a few months ago, and I was able to successfully open the same file in Windows Media Player. I am using VSX4 on a Windows 7 laptop. I'm not sure what updates are installed.
The video file is DV AVI file (720 x 480, 28854 kbps data rate, 298788 kbps total bitrate, and 29 FPS).
I have a windows 7, 64 bit quad core with 8 Gigs of ram, and 500 gigs of hard drive. I'm using the latest Video Studio Pro x5. After some time, and not always at the same time, it stops capturing, and says "unable to capture video because it is copy write protected". It's not copy write protected, and I cannot figure out how to get it to stop doing that.
I'm capturing an old VHS tape using an Easy Cap (the one that is new, and works). Apparently there are some old Easy caps that do not work.
After extensive editing I saved the result as an avi file. When I tried to open the newly created file I got the message:
File format mismatch. [1081.1.3]
I have many other video playback programs and, with the exception of Real Player, they all can play back this avi file I had just created with VS Pro X4. The Program GSpot finds no problems with the file.
Emails to Corel remain unanswered and telephone support held me waiting for hours, only to disconnect when it was their quitting time.
At the moment, the only file format that I can import on the edit tab is *.wmv. There should be no issue importing *.avi or *.mp4 or any other format for that matter, but it fails to open the files. I keep getting the same "unable to open the file 17101:7:1" error for seemingly no reason. Everyone says this software's functionality is wonderful, but if it won't even let you bring in normal files it's looking less and less useful all the time.
Not that it matters, I don't think, but I have been unable to burn an ISO file onto a usable DVD. In the Sharing module of VS Pro X6, after opting to burn a DVD, I select both "Create Folders" and "Create Disc Image." Both are created where I send them and I have no trouble creating usable DVDs by burning the folders onto a blank DVD after telling the Cyberlink burning software that I'm creating a video DVD. But I can't figure out a way to burn the ISO file disc image onto a DVD except as a data DVD, which, unsurprisingly, does not create a usable video DVD. (Cyberlink, at least, will not recognize the ISO file or the folder that it's in to burn a video DVD.) Is there a way within X6 to burn video DVDs from the saved ISO disc image (or from the saved folders for that matter) without re-rendering the video clips? (Also, while I'm asking, I take it that there is no difference between a DVD created from folders and the same content created from an ISO image. If this is right, why the two options?)
I thought I had read somewhere, before I purchased X4 Pro Ultimate, that BluRay could be burned to regular DVD if the files were small enough. Is that not true? Attempting to burn an 800MB file in BLuRay to a DVD+R yields an error message stating I need to use BD discs.
This is based on prior work with Adobe Premiere and switching over to Smoke 2013...
since you were asking for feedback on the editor UI from Mac users...
a) is there a cut button that allows to cut a clip into two at the current marker positions? (e.g. to repeat certain elements)
b) is there an easy way to add extra frames at the beginning or the end of the clip by holding the first or last frame? (very important, but cannot find how to do this). Ideally this would just require dragging the beginning or end of the clip somehow...
c) There should be an easy option to add frames by extending the last or first frame in the case of transitions. Is there one? On Premiere, there's an option for this, makes it much faster to add transitions if there is limited movement in the source material
d) is there a way to auto stretch a clip on insert into the timeline to the selected region? time warp and frame-hold options (beginning, end, both)?
e) why is it not possible to drag clips back into the media hub on the left? (e.g. imported an AAF with a bunch of clips, now want to store some of the clips for later re-use in another timeline or part instead of having to keep it on the timeline)
f) the zooming into the timeline is cumbersome - is there a way to draw a rectangle to auto-zoom into that area? Premiere has a little scroller at the boom to select the zoom level. very useful.
g) for timeline zooming, could you support gestures on the MacBook touch pad? If you push two fingers apart, the timeline should horizontally zoom in. Two fingers together should allow to zoom out. This is actually not just for the timeline. We need this in all views in Connect FX, Action etc. Would make working so much quicker. And it's really standard Mac stuff. (Two fingers without pushing apart could enable panning? And/or space + mouse movement to pan?)
In VideoStudio X4 (SP1), I am trying to import an edited (VSX4) project into the library in order to use parts of it in a different project. This is something I have done successfully before but the last couple of times I have tried I get the message: “Unable to open file. File format mismatch”. (1081:1:3) There is no problem opening up the project in the normal way it is only when I try and import it into the library. I have compared the properties of these files with the successfully imported files and, to me, they look identical. They were all captured from video in the same way,
This is driving me up the wall, I have pro X4 on my laptop and computer, I can't edit on my laptop as it lags, maybe Corel is too big for my laptop I don't know. On my laptop it allows me to import AVI. files, however, when it comes to my PC, it doesn't.It doesn't make sense how I CAN on my laptop but CAN'T on my pc, It did used to work fine on my pc when I had X2, but towards the end it started making the same error message
'Unable to open file [N:GFFILE309.AVI]. File mismatch'
I'm losing my temper, converting the files isn't an option as it makes my HD footage look like crap and pixilised, it also takes forever. I am at a dead end, I have installed the Corel Videostudio pro x4 codec and that hasn't worked at all.
I write a program, this program needs to insert some standard illustrations. I made these standard illustrations into different blocks. And I store these blocks in a dwg file. Everytime I need to insert some illustrations, I just click the mouse on the current drawing, I want the illustration inserted. These means the following points:
(1) Import the blocks to the current drawing, if the blocks have already been imported, then do nothing.
(2) Specify the insert point by clicking the mouse, and I want the block's insert point to coincide with the mouse clicking point.
I couldn't create DVD disk, or, couldn't create video file either. It would go to about 99% & then hang the system for hours (until stopped with Task Manager).
I had installed all of the updates, including SP2. I've uninstalled today & I will re-install in the next day or so to see if it works.
I'm trying to create a timeline wherein the camera rotates in a circle around a 3d Object that is located at the origin of the Ground Plane. I click 3d Camera in the Timeline to create my beginning keyframe, I drag the time slider to the end of the timeline, and I Rotate the camera view around the Z (vertical central) axis of the ground plane. I have the caps lock on so that the ground plane stays perfectly level as I rotate.)
As I am rotating the 3d Camera, the entire scene appears to rotate around the Z axis at the origin of the ground plane, which is what I want the animation to look like, but this is not the scene that plays back. When I play back the scene by clicking the play button or dragging the time slider, it rotates off-axis around some other center of rotation, with my 3d object often rotating out of the scene.
