I have a new mini recorder which records 720x480 at 29.897 fps. Video studio says Unable to open file *****.avi for all of the files. They play perfectly well with MS media player, VCL, Quicktime etc so what is wrong ?
I opened a previously saved project and all the AVI files have blank spaces. When I click properties it says the file is unreadable. When I try to open the file it says unable to open file, catastrophic failure.
These are the same files that I used to edit and render a video a few months ago, and I was able to successfully open the same file in Windows Media Player. I am using VSX4 on a Windows 7 laptop. I'm not sure what updates are installed.
The video file is DV AVI file (720 x 480, 28854 kbps data rate, 298788 kbps total bitrate, and 29 FPS).
At the moment, the only file format that I can import on the edit tab is *.wmv. There should be no issue importing *.avi or *.mp4 or any other format for that matter, but it fails to open the files. I keep getting the same "unable to open the file 17101:7:1" error for seemingly no reason. Everyone says this software's functionality is wonderful, but if it won't even let you bring in normal files it's looking less and less useful all the time.
In VideoStudio X4 (SP1), I am trying to import an edited (VSX4) project into the library in order to use parts of it in a different project. This is something I have done successfully before but the last couple of times I have tried I get the message: “Unable to open file. File format mismatch”. (1081:1:3) There is no problem opening up the project in the normal way it is only when I try and import it into the library. I have compared the properties of these files with the successfully imported files and, to me, they look identical. They were all captured from video in the same way,
This is driving me up the wall, I have pro X4 on my laptop and computer, I can't edit on my laptop as it lags, maybe Corel is too big for my laptop I don't know. On my laptop it allows me to import AVI. files, however, when it comes to my PC, it doesn't.It doesn't make sense how I CAN on my laptop but CAN'T on my pc, It did used to work fine on my pc when I had X2, but towards the end it started making the same error message
'Unable to open file [N:GFFILE309.AVI]. File mismatch'
I'm losing my temper, converting the files isn't an option as it makes my HD footage look like crap and pixilised, it also takes forever. I am at a dead end, I have installed the Corel Videostudio pro x4 codec and that hasn't worked at all.
I was trying to 'create a video file' when I received this message, 'Ulead VideoStudio [2000:1:1] Failed to open the MPEG encoder.
I've made countless movies and this is the first time I'm having this problem. Maybe I had it in 2008, but I've just turned 70 and remembering what I did then is a thing of the past!
I have autocad civil 3d 2008 in my pc. From last 2 days I got a different problem i.e. when I am selecting open / save command from File menu graphical file select explorer is not opening just message in the command window . Previously I used to select files using graphical file explorer.
I've encountered an issue regarding opening FLV. or AVI file extensions. AVI files - Whenever I try to open AVI files in Corel VideoStudio X5 Pro I get an error message saying "so and so file is not accessible" and then a second message replies: "These files cannot be added to the project. These files may of unknown file format, the computer does have enough memory, or the file is copyright protected."
Here's the information on said file.

When I first installed Adobe Photoshop CS6 I was unable to run Photoshop or Bridge CS6. Photoshop would give me an error about "could not open a scratch file because the file is locked. If I ran either of these programs as an administrator they would run without issue, this led me to believe that there was a permission issue somewhere. After some digging I found out the both Bridge and Photoshop try to create a temp file (similiar to Photoshop Temp2777223910092) on the c: drive of the computer. In my case the user that I was logged in with did not have access to write to the root of the C: drive. Note that you run the program as the administrator and change the scratch disk location as that changes the preference for the administrator user and not the user that you are currently logged in as.
I first had to give the user that I was logged on with write permissions to the root of the C: drive. Next try and run Photoshop, you will get an error another error about the scratch disk and about and invalid or missing setting file. To correct this you need to have run Photoshop as an administrator, next you can go to Users AdminAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings and copy Adobe Photoshop CS6 Prefs and/or Adobe Photoshop X64 CS6 Prefs to Users<your logged in username>AppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6.Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings.
With the AutoCAD Revit 2014 I am unable to open DWG file. It gives me a failed to open error. I have attached screen shot below. We did download DWG TruView 2014.
I have a windows 7, 64 bit quad core with 8 Gigs of ram, and 500 gigs of hard drive. I'm using the latest Video Studio Pro x5. After some time, and not always at the same time, it stops capturing, and says "unable to capture video because it is copy write protected". It's not copy write protected, and I cannot figure out how to get it to stop doing that.
I'm capturing an old VHS tape using an Easy Cap (the one that is new, and works). Apparently there are some old Easy caps that do not work.
After extensive editing I saved the result as an avi file. When I tried to open the newly created file I got the message:
File format mismatch. [1081.1.3]
I have many other video playback programs and, with the exception of Real Player, they all can play back this avi file I had just created with VS Pro X4. The Program GSpot finds no problems with the file.
Emails to Corel remain unanswered and telephone support held me waiting for hours, only to disconnect when it was their quitting time.
There's a specific file I can't open. I've worked on it previously, but a week later, and it won't open. All of my other PS CS6 files are intact, and will open immediately. However, this one file takes so long to load (2+ hours) that I end up restarting my computer in order to work on all of my other things. The size isn't the issue, either; it's only 70 megabytes, as opposed to some of my more heavy-duty files that run upwards 200 megabytes.
I'm thinking about opening it on another computer to see what happens, but I'm concerned about the fact that I can't open this particular file. I'm not sure if it's corrupted, based on the fact that it just sits on my computer and just tells me that it's loading.
Is there something I can do to make it open, or modify the file? I've already tried defragging my computer and other things, and I'm at a loss here. I really don't want to start working on this from scratch .
On my current project I get the error message "Software problem" when attempting to open the project file. This problem began last night and affects the project file and all automatic backup files of my current project. It does not seem to be affecting other projects.
I have an IDW file of my assembly, which is bombing out during opening. II can create pack and go file and post it in your designated folder. File is large.
Start up Gimp and get an error message as follows:
Unable to open swap file. GIMP has run out of memory and cannot use the swap file. Some parts of your images may be corrupted. Try to save your work using different filenames, restart GIMP and check the location of the swap directory in your Preferences.
When I check preferences, the path to the swap file is not correct. My path is user to Application to Application Support to Library to Gimp.
I cannot open a .dng file in my ps elements 6.0. I am running win xp pro
I can see the RAW .dng files in the 'open' dialog box, but when I go to "open" one, I get the following error. Online help say I "should" be able to do this.
Format Import Export Bitmap (.bmp, .dib, .rle) x x Camera Raw(1) (.tif, .crw, .nef, .raf, .orf, .mrw, .dcr, .mos, .raw, .pef, .srf, .dng, .x3f, .cr2, .erf, .sr2, .kdc, .mfw, .mef, .arw) I get an error message "could not complete your request because of a program error"
My camera is a Casio EX-FH100, shoot 10mp files in raw.
Everytime I try to open a CR2 file i get an error saying
"could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional info."
I am shooting with a Canon 6D and Canon 60D so I know the camera models are supported. I have already updated to the 7.1 version of Camera Raw.
Every time I try to render in AE I get this error message " after effects unable to open file 1610153459" I'm stuck until I find a solution. I've tried some of the solutions I've found on the web, such as using a different drive and changing permissions on drive. While the problem is the same, most of the solutions are for a PC. I have a Mac.
I've started getting this error when attempting to open QT wrapped DVCPro HD in Premiere Pro CC (7.2.1) windows OS.
I have the latest version of QT installed and I can open and play the files successfully on the same machine in QT. The files are located on a network share but I have tried copying them locally and I get the same issue.
I've tried removing, reinstalling, updating QT, rebooting the machine, holding down shift when launching Premiere but none of these things have made a difference.
I can open the same files on a different machine using the same version of Premiere (without QT installed - different OS though, Windows 8) and up until fairly recently, I could open these files on the machine where it's not working too.
The really strange thing (as far as I am concerned at least) is that I can open up the project in AME and render it out to DVCPro HD on the same machine, without a problem but for some reason Premiere doesn't want to handle the files properly.
Not that it matters, I don't think, but I have been unable to burn an ISO file onto a usable DVD. In the Sharing module of VS Pro X6, after opting to burn a DVD, I select both "Create Folders" and "Create Disc Image." Both are created where I send them and I have no trouble creating usable DVDs by burning the folders onto a blank DVD after telling the Cyberlink burning software that I'm creating a video DVD. But I can't figure out a way to burn the ISO file disc image onto a DVD except as a data DVD, which, unsurprisingly, does not create a usable video DVD. (Cyberlink, at least, will not recognize the ISO file or the folder that it's in to burn a video DVD.) Is there a way within X6 to burn video DVDs from the saved ISO disc image (or from the saved folders for that matter) without re-rendering the video clips? (Also, while I'm asking, I take it that there is no difference between a DVD created from folders and the same content created from an ISO image. If this is right, why the two options?)
I thought I had read somewhere, before I purchased X4 Pro Ultimate, that BluRay could be burned to regular DVD if the files were small enough. Is that not true? Attempting to burn an 800MB file in BLuRay to a DVD+R yields an error message stating I need to use BD discs.
Installed cs6 which seemed to be working just fine until I attempted to open a CR2 file from a canon 5D Mark III, will not open, checked for RAW updates.
I installed Photoshop CS6 64-bit on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit.When it starts, these two messages are displayed: Unable to open a virtual memory file because the file is locked. You do not have permission or the file is being used by another program.
Unable to initialize Photoshop because the file is locked. You do not have permission or the file is being used by another program.
When I double-click a .cdr file CorelDraw opens but the file doesn't. I just get an empty workspace as if I had opened Draw & closed the welcome screen.
