VideoStudio :: X4 - How To Monitor Film During Recording
Jul 12, 2011I have a problem with Pro X4. With Studio 11 Pro, I was able to view the film during saving to file but I cannot with X4. I can't find a solution in the user guide.

Premiere Pro :: Why Does Sound Stop In Source Monitor (CS6) While Playing A Film
Dec 19, 2013I started a project and watch a lot of files in the source monitor to set IN and OUT points. When the file playes f.e. more than a minute the sound gets muted while the film is still running. First I thought it wood be a matter of my external HD from where I loaded the files. Now that I take the same or any other files from my internal sata 3 harddrive the behaviour is still the same.
When i scroll the mouse wheel to move some frames back and forth the sound is back when i hit the space bar. It's the same if i just hit the space bar once to pause and then hit it again to resume.
The effect shows after different amount of times, sometimes after 45 sec. and sometimes after 2 minutes +
I am running Pr Pro CS6 (latest update installed some days ago) on a windows 7 ultimate x64, 16 GB of ram, Nvidia GTX 670, i7 3770, HD is a WD caviar black
The movie clips come from a Panasonic Lumix FZ 150 in FullHD resolution as h.264 MP4 files.
I am quite sure that some months ago this behaviour was not present. I did not change anything on Premiere CS6 but running the updates.

Oct 9, 2013I am making a video tutorial on using a desktop publishing program. Everything is recording fine EXCEPT when I hover over a tooltip or click for a drop-down box. I can see the tooltips and drop-down boxes during the recording session, but (how odd!) VideoStudio doesn't record them.
When I play the wmv file, the cursor hovers over an invisible tooltip and the cursor moves down the invisible options in the invisible drop-down box.
VideoStudio :: Pro X5 - Screen Recording
May 14, 2012I have used Camtasia for screen recording for a long time, however I purchased two 24 inch wide screen monitors with a resolution of 1920x1080. Camtasia recording will not record a full screen at this size.......in fact, they recommend 1280x720! So, I updated my VSP from x4 to x5 due to it now having screen capture. VSPX5 will not record full screen 1920x1080 at all (already mentioned in a previous post and currently under reveiw with Corel). It seems the limit is 1676x943 and even then, part of the screen is chopped off if one has a wide screen. Resolution has to be reduced. This is a PITA!
In order to do my screen recordings I either have to reduce the resolution which I do not like to do as it distorts everything on my screen, or reduce the size of the page to record and fit it within a custom size. Not the best, but it's a workaround.
VideoStudio :: Audio Stutters After Recording
Sep 25, 2011A problem with recording narration has just started with my Pro X4. On playback the recording is not complete and the nearest description is that it is stuttering. I have tried recording several different phrases in different parts of the video and using two different mics but each time get this stuttering.

VideoStudio :: Sound In Screen Recording (VSP X6)
Oct 5, 2013I used the Screen recording feature to record a little tutorial that is about 4 minutes long. I was shocked, when I watched it afterward, to hear that the sound, although fine at the start, gradually becomes fainter, higher pitch, and overall totally unusable. I thought it was just a fluke but I tried it with 3 videos, and I always get the same problem. I used the settings by default, changing only the file name and location.
Is there more to set for the screen capture to work correctly?

Nov 15, 2013My version is VideoStudio X6. Since the update to Windows 8.1 I have been having this error message every time I tried to record the screen. The message shows "An error occurred on your audio device." and it can't record. The drives're up-to-date, I've checked on the devices they all work fine. I need to record system sounds, however I tried to switch to another device but the error kept appearing. I also wondered if there's an error why would the app not showing the detail of the error but just describe it as "an error" because it's so vague it can be anything.

Dec 8, 2013I make gaming Youtube videos, and recently bought a new computer and needed a new recording software. So I started looking into Video Studio. I am currently using the trial, but will really soon get the full version. So I was gonna record and noticed you can change what audio will be recorded. Cool! So I enabled both of them, but it doesn't work. If I enable System Audio, microphone audio will be disabled, and vice-versa.
Is there any way I can record my game AND my voice without recording the my voice afterwards (I wanna record it live)? I quickly tried to record two video at the same time, each recording having a different audio, but it just recorded one. I don't wanna have to buy $37 Fraps or some other "just-for-recording" software.

I am recording a series of video tutorials for the audio production software FL Studio. I have duplicated the problem in two version of FL Studio, FL Studio 8 & FL Studio 9. I start a screen capture and everything is recording fine. Part of my tutorial includes selecting a menu item in FL Studio. After my recording is finished I am noticing that the menu (dropdown) is not displayed in the screen capture. I can see the mousing clicking the menu items but the menu is not displaying. All other aspects of screen capture are working perfect.
I am using Corel Video Studio X5. No updates to the program have been made, the computer I am using it on was only connected to the internet during activation.

May 10, 2011I have started my project with the Instant Project function (middle category) and I am trying to apply the Old Film filter effect to my project but I want most of the original colour to come through. Rather than have the whole thing sepia with scratches and dust, I would like it mostly colour but with scratches and dust etc.
I have clicked on the strip of film that I want to edit the filter on and clicked 'Customize Filter' in the options. From there I clicked 'Duotone' and edited the picture there to how much colour I would like to show through. The problem is, when I click 'Ok', the colour hasn't changed when I go back and replay it. It is still all sepia and not colour.

I have got to the Preview stage which works perfectly and then I am told to click on "Next" but all I am offered is a "Back" button. The instructions say that I should click on "Show more output options" but that is not there.

Jan 22, 2012I have used Corel Video Studion for a number of years. I purchased VideoStudio Pro X4 some months ago and have no problem until now.Having edited a film into five segments. I have re-edited each segment with success until I got to the last one, having saved the earlier ones at each stage so only dealing with one at a time. On saving the last segment all went well until playback when I got the correct audio BUT the picture is now just a BLUE screen and nothing else. In desperation I delted the programme from the computer then reloaded, updated with service pack 1 and 2. Also, followed an on line recommendation to putin a new dll detail. Restarted the computer, downloaded the film and re-edited the final segment. It did seem to save quicker but AGAIN i have the correct audio BUT the same BLUE screen and for the life of me I do not know why.

Jun 26, 2011The problem is that when I put a 2minute film in AVI format it works great, but I want to put a piece of it, so I use option to cut the film and I'm doing from it let's say 30s clip. The problem now begins, because when I play this clip in "Clip" option tagged I got the sound, when I change it to "Project" the sound vanishes... Using full film the sound is available in "Clip" mode and "Project" mode.

Jan 31, 2013I have just received back a 15min 8mm movie from a film transfer company. They suggested for editing purposes that it has been transferred as a AVI file.
Having transferred the AVI file to my Video folder in Windows 7 i have tried to enter the file into Coral Video studio 12 by right clicking on the time line, this will not open the file for me to edit.
The file plays straight from the disc ok on the computer ok but does freezes intermittently. the file size is 3.36Gb

I stumbled (the usual method for finding anything out in Video Studio) upon somebody posting that twin icons that look like movie film mean that the clip has been through Smart Proxy. what all these cryptic symbols/icons/whatevers mean? I have the Picture Yourself book and the pamphlet that comes with VS4 and I can't find a simple page that explains these. How lame.

Sep 3, 2012I got in on the big sale that NewBlue was having and I purchased the Film Effects pack (finally!). Everything is installed and registered.
There are actually 5 individual effects that you get with the Film Effects, they are:
Film Camera
Film Damage
Film Express
Film Look
Film Pro
I can successfully add each of these to a clip in my timeline and then modify the attributes, except one.
The Film Look plugin give me the error:
Corel Video Studio Pro
Invalid parameter
[15032:1:18]
It is a Corel error dialog, not a NewBlue error dialog. Only the Film Look plugin give me the error, the other 4 work just fine.
I have fully purchased and legally registered Corel Video Studio Pro and NewBlue Film Effects running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
VideoStudio :: Created Short Film Using Numerous Clips - Ratio Export
Sep 30, 2012I have created a short film using numerous clips. The footage is shot with a ratio of 16:9 and this is how it is viewed on my PC.
However if I export it to any format other than MPEG the first and last second of each clip stretches horizontally and then returns to the correct ratio (see images). I have tried every possible conversion with no luck. It is always the first and last second of a clip and happens for every clip in the film. The only time it doesn't happen is with the title templates.

I'm working with SD avi clips, in a 4.3 aspect ratio (made with Mpeg Streamclip). find something like a "grunge" effects plug-in, compatible with VS ProX4, that is not too expensive.
