I have been unsuccessful in adding voice over to a project that I have created. Have tried using both the built-in microphone on my laptop and a plug-in one. When I activate voice-over the adjustment for volume does not function and nothing is recorded when I try.

At the EDIT step, the voice level of each HD clip is in reasonable level, but during playback of the entire project the voice level droped down. Also after rendering the voice level is still low. On the other side, the voice level of imported music from audio CD doesn't changed. Is it suppose to be so? I am using the Pro X4 program.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that it is possible to overlap sound clips. Just wanting to know does this automatically add fade to the end of the first clips and start of the second clip - my testing could not confirm that. Also is there some documentation on overlapping sound clips as I could not find anything in the handbook.
Also a possible problem I have encountered (I could repeat it too). When I add a video clip to the overlay track at times when I select it (left mouse click) VS Pro X4 appears to FREEZE and I cannot do anything within VS such as select something else. If I then select 'Show Desktop' (from the icon in my quick start bar) and then click anywhere in the desktop and then reselect VS from the bar at the bottom of screen I am returned to VS and it is not in freeze mode again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes it make an audible difference if I use the voice over track for music?I do a lot of audio synch and I sometimes put the music track in the voice-over track. This happens because the audio track that I am using comes from a video clip. One video has good quality video and bad quality audio; the other one has poor quality video, but good audio. So I keep the video from one and the audio from the other. After synchronizing the 2 videos, the sound is also synchronized. When I split the audio from the video file, it automatically drops into the voice over track and if I don't move it the the music track, it stays there.When listening to the final result, I don't hear a noticeable difference, but is there one?In other words, is one of these tracks more suitable for music.

My specific issue is that I have to go back and edit material sometimes that precedes the voice track I already have laid down, but when the time frame of the material after my new edit I have to go back and drag the voice track to the proper location. I would like to be able to permanently "attach" the voice track to the specific video clip and have it follow that clip as it is moved, time wise, during the editing process.
Is there a means to make this happen?
PS - I realize there is a work around way - just publish each clip and then rebuild the final project but that is NOT what I want to do.
So I am in premiere cs6 on a mac 10.6.8, and when I go into preferences-Audio hardware and I try to change the input to the built-in-input, a white box comes up and it never goes away. It says application not responding so i=I have to force quit.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy video material holds two voices that were recorded on CH1 and CH2 in mono, resulting in a stereo clip that has one voice on the left channel and one voice on the right channel. So far I always duplicated the audio clips and use fill right and fill left. I just found out about channel mappings in CS2 and CS3, but for my actual project it is too late since it is cut already. It is my first project I'm doing in CS2 and after it is finished I will install CS3. So my first question is: When I use the channel mapping command, how are the resulting mono channels handled in the master? Will each mono channel fill the right AND the left channel of the stereo master track?
With delight I found out that the channel mixer in CS2 allows to use fill right and fill left effects, so I don't have to drag the effects on each clip separatley.
My second question is regarding the mixing of the two voices. Since we couldn't afford to have a professional sound engenieer at the shoot the channel of the voice that was not talking wasn't turned down, so the second voice will be heard on the other channel when the two people stood close together. Is there a more efficient way to mix the two voices instead of using rubber bands to bring down one voice when it is not talking? It's a hell lot of work.
Is it possible to use voice recognition to add notes / redline Autodesk 360 drawings in the field on a tablet. For example when inspecting a dock being able to use a stylus to add a redline cloud around a specific pile on a plan drawing and then adding comments via voice recognition would be a real time saver.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have WMV 1080p30 source files that I am trying to render to an 5-6min MP4 HD file for upload to Youtube. I am able to make WMV HD files, but wanted to see if MP4 HD files would make a better final outcome on Youtube (Youtube seems to add a lot of jaggies to my WMV uploads). However, whenever I try to render anything to MP4 HD, VSX3 crashes (it never gets past the "Creating files" message). The windows error log states that the faulting modules are kernel32.dll and ntdll.dll. I have QT 7.6 (not the latest) installed. I have XSVX3 updated to SP2 (although the file downoaded was patch3.exe). In the Make Movie template and in Share/Custom , I don't get the option to see/manipulate any MP4 HD formats or even use H.264 compression. When I bring up Mpeg-4, it allows me to use mainly standard-def or non-HD resolutions and on-H.264 codecs. Is it not seeing the profiles/codecs for HD H.264 from Quicktime? Do I need QT Pro or just the free QT? I can render MP4 non-HD. As an aside, I see no sign that CUDA is being utilized.

I am unable to import a DVD into VSX5.
DVD Properties only show as 195 MB udf file system / It is not copyright protected .It plays OK in Power DVD and Windows Media Player and lasts about 5 minutes .It is a free promotional DVD.
To try and import it into VSX5 I go import file -insert media to library -insert digital media -select drive, -start- when I select or get near the small boxes in the top right of title I or chapter1 boxes with the cursor - the screen goes black and the PC reboots loosing any unsaved data..
If I try to do a screen capture of a paused DVD screen either via print screen-paste as new image, or the dedicated screen capture feature in Paint Shop Pro X- the captured screen area only shows black....
When I get to the step where one edits the main and sub menus, I am only given the option to RETURN. The NEXT button is missing. This problem appeared after I was forced to re-install VSX2 following a computer crash. I am now running it on Windows 7 Home Premium.
View 2 Replies View RelatedInstalled VideoStudio for compatibility with Windows 7. Used mainly for editing out commercials fron television programmes recorded onto DVD. Both single use and re-recordable discs used. Everything worked well though the program is top-heavy for my requirement. Automatic suggestion last week that I install an update. The update failed and the problems started. I can no longer import from DVD. The process appears to run up to 60% then stops. The program then stops responding and has to be closed using task manager. The DVD can only be ejected by re-starting the computer. Tried removing VideoStudio using the clean-up tool and following the regedit instructions. Re-installed but no improvement. Suggested workround by Corel is to copy the vob file from the DVD to the desktop, rename this file as a mpg then import into VideoStudio. This does not work. So at the moment I have un-useable software.

This is strange because when I first installed it, everything was working fine. This applies to the following image types JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a project I'm trying to render to an mp4...I previously rendered 2 different versions of it, then after this morning when I re-edited and finished the project, it doesn't let me render an mp4.
If I try to render, it goes through the whole process and then I watch as the file disappears when rendering is complete. It let me render to an AVCHD file, but it won't let me render an mp4 from it. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling VS x4 and installing the SP but nothing works.
I uninstalled VS Pro X4 about five times and each time re-installed it (in order to clean out any duplicate files of VS Pro X4 that may have been the cause of a crash-on-startup that always happened when I changed the name of the user account). I uninstalled VS Pro again but afterwards the installation wizard of the installer did not work. So now I don't have VS Pro X4 on my computer any more! Secondly, if there is a maximum limit to the number of times the installer works, is there some way to get a new installer or just get one more installation?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using X5 since last year and have been able to create and burn DVDs without issues. Today I tried to create a DVD (I chose "Create Disc" from the "Share" menu) and a new window came up titled "DVD Movie Factory 7". I have never downloaded this and I am unable to get past this window. Did Corel update X5 with this new software? I can not create a disc like I did 4 weeks ago. I forgot to mention that I did have to perform a recovery and reset my computer to it's original settings a few weeks back and I reinstalled X5. My computer info is as follows:

8GB RAM with Intel i5-3230M CPU 2.6 GHz
750 GB Hard Drive
When I connect my camera and select Capture Video, I receive the error:
Unable to switch to capture mode
Check if your video capture driver is working properly

I select OK and it properly identifies my camera in source as Canon HV30
Using the VS Pro X3 software, I can play, ffwd, pause, etc the camera however, it will not Capture the video at all
This is on my dads pc. he is running:
- Video Studio Pro x3 Pro which has had all patches applied.
- PC is an intel i5 2500 on a Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard.
- 64 bit Windows 7 Home premium all patches applies
- Canon HV30 connected via firewire
Note, I have used this camera with VS Pro x3 on another pc with no issue.,
not sure if i have got a setting applied incorrectly in vs pro x3 or not.
I've just made my first attempt of transferring my camcorder tapes to DVD using the video studio pro 3, all seemed to be going well until I tried playing them in my DVD player, you can watch the DVD but there's no sound however, if I play the DVD in my laptop it plays as it should (sound and vision).

I created an m2p video file with premier pro and imported it into VS and saved the project as a VSP file. It is just one complete clip of approx 1hour 20mins that needs no other editing except I added 4 chapter points and saved again.
The problem is that when I try to create a DVD by either Tools/Create Disc/DVD or through the Share Tab at the top, a window opens ok but I cannot do anything with it.
My project shows in the media clip list at the bottom (It shows black because I have a couple of seconds of black video at the start) but I just cannot find a way to get it into the preview pane so that I can use the jog slider or view the project.
When I click Add/Edit Chapter, another similar window opens and my file shows along with the 4 chapter point but I still cannot get it into the preview pane.
In VS X4 I see the clouds, rain, lightning, but did not see an option for snow in FX. How to do that or where I could download one

They all behave differently on on Different players, on some players they won't even start, some will start and play part of the way through before playing up. All copies behave differently on different players. I have been able to get most copies to play properly on my computer.
