VideoStudio :: Slightly Different Render Depending On Format?

Oct 5, 2010

I've been experimenting with syncing audio and video in a precise way (something like URL....), and have found that in every output format except "MPEG Optimizer...", the sync is a little off... or at least different than the preview.

Through experimentation, I have found that you can be off by one frame and not really notice, but two frames and things look "amateurly" synced. Given that there is one frame leeway, I figured that rounding due to frame rate differences are accounted for, but this is not the case.

In some cases, I have also noticed transition and F/X changes, depending on the output format. For example, I have an image of a statue with "AutoSketch" applied. In the preview, everything looks wonderful. In HD MP4 output, the statue is drawn top to bottom, then the base of the statue disappears and is re-drawn. In DV and WMV format, the drawing is noticeably different, even though the resolution is the same.

What gives? If we can't count on the output to be like the preview, then all that time spent making a killer sync is just wasted

VideoStudio :: AVI Format Render Crash

Oct 14, 2011

i bought VSP4x about a month ago to try to get back into video editing (was originally using Media Studio on my XP machine but it isn't supported on Win7) and was working fine with video acquired through the method capture -> edit - > share. but once i started bringing in videos from other sources it started going bonkers. one source i get my video from is a screen capturing program called Bandicam. it creates standard Mpeg encoded VBR AVIs. i would editing my footage cut, and snip where needed. add some text and then render. as soon as it hits 1% of rendering it will come back with a unspecified error and give me a dump files to send to tech support. i then proceed to find tech support but was unable to find any sorts on the website that wasnt going to cost me $20 just to send an email. i searched everywhere i can after that for a solution. couldnt find one.

VideoStudio :: Video Format To Create DVD (Render VSP)

Jul 30, 2012

Given that it seems to be a good idea to render VSP projects to a single video file before attempting to create a DVD through Share Create Disc, I am wondering what is the most optimal type of video file to initially render the VSP into.

The video from my camera comes in a ACVHD 1080/60i. My target final disc is either 1) standard DVD, or 2) Blu Ray. I have been rendering the VSP into a 1920x1080 AVCHD format.

3ds Max :: Render Element Output Files - Format And Name

Aug 31, 2011

Sometime with some scenes, I have this trouble :

-when I render my beauty pass in TIF 16bits with render elements and when I leave MAX set my render-elements output files automatically, MAX use the initial name of the output beauty pass. So technically, It is suppose to make a couple of file with the same format and the same name.
-ok, I presse render to Backburner and I wait.
-Now my render is done, I go check my output files. And, sometimes, without constancy, my beauty pass is a TIF 16bits but my passes are in gray-scale or in 8bits or 16bits in random.

If I restart the job on Backburner, maybe it fix this problem, maybe not.

The unique thing I find to fix that is to set all my passes manually. but it's a pretty heavy process.

Premiere Pro :: CC Closed Captions Format On Render

I have added closed captions to my Premiere Pro project took bloody ages and all looks and runs great within the project. Simple white captions over the video.

Although, when I render the video out with the closed captions embedded within the video, cirtain captions seem to have slightly "dodgy" formatting when played back in quick time player.

Some sections of the captions have a black background on and some do not. As I previously mentioned the captions are all fine within the project. It just seems to happen on the render file

Photoshop :: Text Disappears In Large Format Render

Apr 13, 2006

I have to create several large format banners (3' x 7') in a 1:1 printing ratio.

When I type in text (at approx. 145 pt type), half or more of it disappears when it is rendered. I have tried reducing the text amount by line, but that hasn't helped. I don't want to to every single word as a separate layer either.

What am I doing wrong?

I am using PS6 in a Windows XP OS and I have 2 GB of RAM.

The printer we are using specifically asks for a "Photoshop file saved as a JPEG".

I am desparate on this as I am under the gun on this project - short notice.

AutoDesk Smoke :: Changing Timeline Render Format

Jun 14, 2012

It seems that you can only decide on your intermediary at the point of first setting up the project? Is this true? Wouldn't it be a good (very good?) idea to be able to change this once you have embarked upon the project? It seems to me that you might want to use the ProRes codec when you are cutting and messing about with your project and then switch to DPX when you want to be careful about the quality of the render files?

Thus you may want to be creative in the render-room saving ProRes format when you can build up lots of decisions, but then switch finally over to the DPX format when you are closing in upon the final project. The current system (unless I have missed something) means that one you have chosen your intermediary render format, you are stuck in that project in that format?

TO mention Liquid for the second time today, you used to be able to right click in the timeline and switch the timeline render format (everything from dv to uncompressed). It could take any codec, frame rate and frame size but then you could decide and change your mind on the render format that you wished to use.

Photoshop :: Why Can't File-export-render Video Into MPEG4 Rendering Into Small MOV File Format In CS6

Dec 5, 2012

I create short videos using the PS frame animation panel. I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page.  If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. ADOBE WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR EXPORT VIDEO RENDERING OPTIONS in CS6?

VideoStudio :: Unable To Render MP4 HD

Feb 5, 2011

I have WMV 1080p30 source files that I am trying to render to an 5-6min MP4 HD file for upload to Youtube. I am able to make WMV HD files, but wanted to see if MP4 HD files would make a better final outcome on Youtube (Youtube seems to add a lot of jaggies to my WMV uploads). However, whenever I try to render anything to MP4 HD, VSX3 crashes (it never gets past the "Creating files" message). The windows error log states that the faulting modules are kernel32.dll and ntdll.dll. I have QT 7.6 (not the latest) installed. I have XSVX3 updated to SP2 (although the file downoaded was patch3.exe). In the Make Movie template and in Share/Custom , I don't get the option to see/manipulate any MP4 HD formats or even use H.264 compression. When I bring up Mpeg-4, it allows me to use mainly standard-def or non-HD resolutions and on-H.264 codecs. Is it not seeing the profiles/codecs for HD H.264 from Quicktime? Do I need QT Pro or just the free QT? I can render MP4 non-HD. As an aside, I see no sign that CUDA is being utilized.

I experimented with making a custom h.264 template, and found that this always happens if audio is aac 48000. If I change to 44100, everything works.

But I'd like to be able to use 48000.

VideoStudio :: MP4 Render Crash

Jun 19, 2011

It's an element contained in a .vsp. Right now I'm trying to "connect" & render 1 video file + 4 .vsp (inttertitle card.mp4, segment1.vsp, ... segment4.vsp). Each contains segments that run continuously and I need to combine into just one video file (mp4 HD format). But every time the render reaches that file (above) (17% of the total render), it crashes. There's nothing else on that timeline except that mp4 file and a wav file. I don't understand why it's happening. I have done it successfully before in Youtube HD format.

Smart Proxy is enabled, but I don't see how that's relevant to rendering. I have tried re-converting the video file into versions: one has .mpeg4 codec, the other has .H264. I also downloaded & installed VSPX4 SP1, updated my codecs, drivers, downgraded Quick time. But the result is still the same as far as rendering the whole project goes: crashing at 17%.

There were enough RAM & CPU when I did the rendering so I don't think this is a hardware issue. I also tried disabling Smart Render just to see if it will react positively.

There came a time also when the render passed 17%, but it crashed when it reached 94%. Interestingly, when I rendered segment1.vsp only (to mp4 HD), it also passed 17%, but then it failed to finish also. Right now, I'm going to re-convert the file to a different format to see if the whole crash is related to mp4 (I have rendered many mp4s just last week and they were successful).

So I'm curious, is there a limit to how many "connected" .vsp files one can render successfully? And is there a certain mp4 type that VSP can't handle properly?

VideoStudio :: How To Render At 1920x1080 Instead Of 1440x1080

Nov 21, 2012

After lots of experimenting, I have finally found that Corel Video Studio Pro X4 is capable of rendering the 1080i 50i AVCHD videos off my Sony CX-190E Camcorder, without any motion blur.

All other softwares failed to remove the motion blur. Only this software could render the video, smoothly at 25 FPS (50 FPS isn't supported by my Samsung HDTV so I render at 25FPS)

So I was trying out VS Pro x4 before buying. But the only problem that keeps me away from buying the product is, Corel VS Pro X4 renders the AVCHD (1080i-50i) source files to HDV 1080i -50i (.mpg) files at 1440x1080, which plays vertically elongated (with two black borders on the sides) on my HDTV.

How can I make it render at 1920x1080?

If I select any other profile like WMV (and manually configure the profile at render at 1920x1080), motion blurring is present and noticeable. Only the .mpg HDV 1080i-50i are completely smooth and free from any motion blurring.

How can I make it render HDV 1080i-50i at 1920x1080, instead of 1440x1080?

VideoStudio :: X2 Slow To Render In MPEG

May 8, 2010

Up until recently I had been able to capture a VHS movie using the ADVC-110, edit the avi files and put in transitions, save to a vsp file. Next I would go to Share> Create Video File> Custom. Since this an old movie of only fair quality I would select a bitrate of 6000. I was previously able to render 3 different movies of approx. 70 minutes in lenghth to mpeg-2 in 1 1/2 hours each. Now it suddenly takes 6 to 8 hours per movie. The cpu will go like gangbusters and render the first 50% of the movie in just 20 minutes, and then slow down and take hours for the last 50%. I have Spy Sweeper and other running progs. and apps. shut off, screen saver disabled, internet connection off and D-Link not in use. I am using my "D" drive for all my files, which has nearly 1 TB, and I have plenty of available memory. what causes it to slow down, and what I might try? OS: XP; MB: ASUS P5QL-E; GC: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT; SC: Real tek High Def Audio; Processor: Intel 2 Core Duo @ 3.33 GHZ; Hard Drive: C: 300 GB, D: 1 TB; Memory: 3GB.

VideoStudio :: Slow Render Times

Oct 25, 2012

I'm running VSP x5 and have made a 90min film with my AVCHD 1920x1080 files. I'll be making some SD discs and HD discs. There wasn't a lot of enhancements to the footage except for several clips that needed a few filters put in. The Project Settings are MPEG Standard Definition dimensions.

When I edit my project, I always observe the Smart Proxy Queue manager, wait until everything coverts, and I get very good smooth action in editing. (probably a solution to many of the problems that needlessly occur elsewhere in the forum).

However rendering takes AGES and AGES (reached 40% after 4hrs). The box is checked "Perform Smart Render". Why is it when I've already waiting for files to be downsized when I first added the clips to the timeline....can I not take advantage of these and save time?

What else can I do to speed up render time?

PAL HDMV

Video Format -MPEG-2 (also have tried H.264)

VideoStudio :: Cannot Render Video - Unspecific Error

Nov 24, 2013

I have been using X5 for almost a year and everything seems find until lately when I up graded my system to window 8.1. I have assemble a 40 min video but when I tried to use 'share' to output to MP4 iphone/ipad HD,the rendering go halfway then the VideoStudio crashed with an error 'The program has encountered an unspecified error' and a DMP file and ask me to contact Corel support. My project only has 1 video tack, 1 voice track and 1 music track and the project file is 17,426 KB. If I disable the voice track, then the project can render successfully. Since the voice track is recorded using VideoStudio voice over with WAV format, I went back and convert all voice into mp3 to smaller size but still crash when render halfway. My system should have enough resources to process this 40 min video.

Window 8.1 pro 64x
16GB ram
CPU i7
Hard drive 2T.

I have assemble 40 min video with heavy voice before in XP and it render without any problem. Is there are issues between VideoStudio and window 8.1 64x ? Is there a limit to VS project size, or voice track size ? I read some of the posts and you recommend to manfully uninstall the software and reinstall the software. I am reluctant to do this, not at least after I can output my project to mp4, because it might wipe out my setting, templates, libraries, and even my project file. Do you know of any tool so I can read the DMP file ? I don't understand what good to have a DMP file when my software have passed the 30 day or 1 time support warranty?

It has been very frustrate to spend all this time to assemble a video and at the end cannot produce a sharable version. I was about to upgrade to X6 but now I have to think twice if this issue is not resolved. What good are all thees fancy new features in X6 to me if I cannot produce a sharable version of my project ?
