VideoStudio :: Pro X5 Does Not Open?

Oct 9, 2013

Because I had some problems with burning Dvd's I reinstalled VS Pro X5. At starting it opens but does not work. I get the message that there are problems and I have to send the name of a dumpfile to Corel. It's the message: vstudio_15.2.0.10_2013009_135036.DMP. What can be the matter?

VideoStudio :: Pro 3 Will Not Open?

May 7, 2012

I had been using the program but stopped for about a week. When I tried to go back into it again, all that would come up would be the introduction or the announcement to the program. I waited and waited and it just stayed fixed on the screen. I had to do a hard shut down to get it off the screen. I tried several more times and the same thing would happen each time. So i decided to uninstall the program and then reinstall it. No change, the same thing happened. i even tried to open the program by opening one of the saved movies

VideoStudio :: X3 Won't Open Files 1GB And Above

Sep 10, 2012

The previous problem I had was it wouldn't smart proxy 1GB files and above (still not fixed), now X3 won't open files 1GB and above. I tried opening files over 1GB that I have edited before, but it's not happening. Basically the files are from a Canon 5D MKII, converted to AVI via Cineform Neoscene. Today I selected about 12 clips I have just converted to AVI I filmed yesterday, and 4 of them (over 1GB) gave the following message

".... file is not accessible"

then

"these files cannot be added to this project. These files may be of unknown file format. The computer does not have enough memory, or the file is coyright protected"

Is there some restriction setting I have accidentally selected? Like I said this is a new problem, these files would open before. I've tried clearing some space on my laptop's hard drive, so there's over 200GB, but that didn't work either. I contacted Cineform, and they said their file format is the same whether it is above or below 1GB in size, so the problem lies with Videostudio.

VideoStudio :: X3 VSP Files Won't Open In X2?

Nov 22, 2010

I have both VS X2 and VS X3. I've been working on a project in VS X2 for the last month. I just recently installed VS X3. I opened up the file in VS X3 for the first time, saved the project. Now the file won't open up in VS X2. I tried with another short project file that i originated in VS X2, opened it up in VS X3, did nothing to the file, saved it in VS X3, and now this file wont open in VS X2 anymore either. It seems that when I save a file in VS X3, whether i edit the file or not, the file will no longer open in VS X2. All files are the standard .vsp files.

VideoStudio :: Can't Open MOV Files

Nov 26, 2011

I just bought and installed the downloadable version of VSPX4 and I can't open MOV files. I updated to SP2 and still no joy.

When I open the "Open Video File" dialog, Quicktime is not listed among the file type options. I also tried dragging the MOV files from the File Explorer, but it won't let me drop them on the VSPX4 timeline or library. I'm confused because Corel advertizes VSPX4 as both reading and writing Quicktime. Does VSPX4 have any ability to provide information about what's wrong? Is there any way to test the configuration?

I want to edit files produced by a Contour HG camera. When I open them in Quicktime (v. 7.7 1680.34) the movie inspector says they're h.264 format.

VideoStudio :: Cannot Open Any MP4 File

Jan 13, 2011

I can not open any MP4 file (let alone move to a track). So, I did things I read here in these post. I installed the latest version of QuickTime and changed the file type to MOV. Was then able to open and select to the time line. Now, when I play the clip in the time line it looks good. However, when I play the project the playback is very slow. Other file types work fine including clips that I mix with the MOV clip. The MOV part is slow and the WMD part is fine. Tried converting the MP4 to other formats but the quality suffers greatly. All this conversion really takes time. Will VS ever be able to read a MP4 file like other similar routines?

I have been using this computer with X5 and XP professional and it works fine. I have now installed Windows 7 on this same computer but cant open any of my previous projects. These projects were created using X5.

These are the same files that I used to edit and render a video a few months ago, and I was able to successfully open the same file in Windows Media Player. I am using VSX4 on a Windows 7 laptop. I'm not sure what updates are installed.

The video file is DV AVI file (720 x 480, 28854 kbps data rate, 298788 kbps total bitrate, and 29 FPS).

Everyone says this software's functionality is wonderful, but if it won't even let you bring in normal files it's looking less and less useful all the time.

VideoStudio :: X2 - Failed To Open MPEG Encoder

Dec 13, 2010

I've been using VideoStudio Pro X2 for the past 2 years and it has been working just fine since, up until mid last week. I was rolling right along, creating MPEG-2's of the Classic 39 Honeymooners episodes, until I got up to Episode 24, when I started getting the 'Failed to open the MPEG encoder' error message. I searched through this forum to find any possible solution and the only solutions I found were to check to see if the MPEG-2 encoder CODEC is installed, which it appears to be according to the InstalledCodec utility and to uninstall/reinstall VS, which I did. I still receive the same error message, however. What could cause it to go from working one moment, to not working the next?

I tried to attach a text file listing all of the installed codecs on my system, so you can look to see if the needed codecs are installed, however I was unable to attach the file...says 'extension not allowed'. How to upload the file.

VideoStudio :: X4 - Unable To Open File Format Mismatch?

Feb 2, 2012

This is driving me up the wall, I have pro X4 on my laptop and computer, I can't edit on my laptop as it lags, maybe Corel is too big for my laptop I don't know. On my laptop it allows me to import AVI. files, however, when it comes to my PC, it doesn't.It doesn't make sense how I CAN on my laptop but CAN'T on my pc, It did used to work fine on my pc when I had X2, but towards the end it started making the same error message

'Unable to open file [N:GFFILE309.AVI]. File mismatch'

I'm losing my temper, converting the files isn't an option as it makes my HD footage look like crap and pixilised, it also takes forever. I am at a dead end, I have installed the Corel Videostudio pro x4 codec and that hasn't worked at all.

VideoStudio :: Error Message - Failed To Open MPEG Encoder

Jun 29, 2011

I completed a video and when I went to 'Create a Video File' I would receive the following error message...

"Failed to open MPEG encoder"

I'm using Ulead VideoStudio 11+. The 'vsp' file is too long...One hour fourteen minutes. I made a 'Part 1' and cut the vsp to forty-five minutes and still received the same error message.

I cut the 'vsp' to one minute thirty seconds and it would "Create a Video File'. I've never had this problem before.

It seems with Ulead VideoStudio 11+ whenever I have a problem like this I can resolve it, by backing up all the files, then removing the program, thoroughly clean the hard drive and re-install 11+.
