VideoStudio :: Open With Last-edited Pro 5?
Feb 21, 2013Is it possible to have VS Pro 5 open with the last-edited vsp file when starting the program, by default? I couldn't find anything in the "Preferences" about that option.

Lightroom :: 3 Suddenly Won't Open Photos In CS4 To Be Edited
Dec 6, 2011When I right click on a photo in LR3 and click on 'edit in Photoshop CS4', it opens the dialogue box that it has always opened: 'This version of Lightroom may require Camera Raw version 6.5 to be fully compatible,' or something to that effect. I have never needed to worry about that, and have always been able to just click on OK and it has worked anyway, however suddenly it doesn't.
So I checked (just in case the issue was my version of Camera Raw) and I am running Camera Raw version 5.70.213
So I tried to update it to 6.5. I downloaded it (and the Adobe installer manager which it seemed to want me to install), but when I try to install 6.5 I get a message: 'This is not required'.So one message tells me it is required, and another won't allow it to install and says it is not required.
I don't seem to be able to install the latest version of Camera Raw (doesn't bother me as I don't use it - I use LR, except if it is causing this problem), and I have the problem of being unable to edit any of my LR catalogue in CS4.
VideoStudio :: Transitions - Edited / Duplicated
Jan 23, 2011I've been making a video with about 400 photos on it and am using various transitions.
What I can't work out what to do is how can I edit a transition then save or copy that edited version of the transition off somewhere so I can use it multiple times? It seems I get the 'base' transition, can add it to the timeline then have to edit each and every transition - it takes hours!
VideoStudio :: Change Edited Video From NTSC To PAL
Apr 7, 2011I have created and burnt a video and find that after burning it plays fine on a computer but not on television. Opening the video in Pro X3 and checking the Properties I find that it is in NTSC profile. Obviously not a lot of use in the UK. The television tells me that the DVD is an incorrect DVD, which I would expect if it's burnt for viewing on a computer or in NTSC format.
How can I change this to PAL DVD? When saved it is saved in Corel VS, which I would expect. When I go into the Library to obtain the video there appears nowhere where I can change it to PAL.
VideoStudio :: Edited MP4 Video Playback Audio
Jun 20, 2011I just finished editing MP4 videos with Corel VideoStudio x3. I exported the videos in the same format. The problem i am having with all of the videos is that when I try to view them with Adobe Flash Player All I get is the audio portion of the video and the Adobe controller is visible. I have tried to exporting the videos in a few different MP4 formats but none seem to work?

May 12, 2013Adobe Photo shop elements is not user friendly. It is in fact the most difficult programme I have ever used.
I finally managed to watermark my files they have been saved but when I want to view them on my laptop in the normal windows view the thumbnail just shows the photo shop elements logo and I have to double click each file separately and they open in the edit programme. I want to open them and flick through my edited pictures without having to enter adobe photo shop elements and without having to open each one individually.

Mar 1, 2011I am having difficulty generating files with VS X3. The app works fine opening the source files, editing and preview playback. Preview replay has audio and is very smooth. However, all generated files have no audio. The files I'm working with are recordings using the Hauppauge HD PVR controlled by BeyondTV (V4.9.2). Those fies are MPEG-2 Transport files, having the extension *.tp. VS does not recognize the TP extension - which is very frustrating. When I change the extension to M2T, they import fine.

I know it does this so you can create your own video and then overlay your own audio. However, all I want to do is just cut out a few portions of the video while retaining the original audio minus the parts I cut out (i.e. I don't want to have to overlay any audio for this project, I just want a simple way to cut a few parts out and be done).

Dec 2, 2010I recently installed VideoStudio Pro X3. Whenever I play back anything I tried edit the program crashes and a dump file error shows. I have tried using the smart proxy without success. I am trying to edit HD files *.mov. The files are only a couple of minutes so that should not be an issue. I also tried closing all other programs. When I try and playback I can only see a couple of seconds before it crashes. I am wondering if my computer does not have the resources to edit HD. I have 1024 MB of Ram.

I did some editing to some MPEG-4 video files and when I was finished I found out that the file sizes of each video blew up to huge numbers. During the editing I did add some transitions and .MPEG photo images. I didn't think that the video size would grow to that amount. I really would like to keep the MPEG-4 format for the convenience to the viewer. I just need to have it in the smallest file size possible. how I can get my "MP4 H264 - MPEG-4 AVC Resolution 640x480" videos to an acceptable file size?

Sep 10, 2012The previous problem I had was it wouldn't smart proxy 1GB files and above (still not fixed), now X3 won't open files 1GB and above. I tried opening files over 1GB that I have edited before, but it's not happening. Basically the files are from a Canon 5D MKII, converted to AVI via Cineform Neoscene. Today I selected about 12 clips I have just converted to AVI I filmed yesterday, and 4 of them (over 1GB) gave the following message
".... file is not accessible"
then
"these files cannot be added to this project. These files may be of unknown file format. The computer does not have enough memory, or the file is coyright protected"
Is there some restriction setting I have accidentally selected? Like I said this is a new problem, these files would open before. I've tried clearing some space on my laptop's hard drive, so there's over 200GB, but that didn't work either. I contacted Cineform, and they said their file format is the same whether it is above or below 1GB in size, so the problem lies with Videostudio.

Nov 22, 2010I have both VS X2 and VS X3. I've been working on a project in VS X2 for the last month. I just recently installed VS X3. I opened up the file in VS X3 for the first time, saved the project. Now the file won't open up in VS X2. I tried with another short project file that i originated in VS X2, opened it up in VS X3, did nothing to the file, saved it in VS X3, and now this file wont open in VS X2 anymore either. It seems that when I save a file in VS X3, whether i edit the file or not, the file will no longer open in VS X2. All files are the standard .vsp files.

Nov 26, 2011I just bought and installed the downloadable version of VSPX4 and I can't open MOV files. I updated to SP2 and still no joy.
When I open the "Open Video File" dialog, Quicktime is not listed among the file type options. I also tried dragging the MOV files from the File Explorer, but it won't let me drop them on the VSPX4 timeline or library. I'm confused because Corel advertizes VSPX4 as both reading and writing Quicktime. Does VSPX4 have any ability to provide information about what's wrong? Is there any way to test the configuration?
I want to edit files produced by a Contour HG camera. When I open them in Quicktime (v. 7.7 1680.34) the movie inspector says they're h.264 format.

Jul 3, 2013I started a VSX5 project that my friend wanted to piggyback on with his VSX4 software . He tells me that VSX4 opens but nothing seems to happen afterwards. Does it mean that VSX4 is incompatible with VSX5 .vsp file projects ?

Jan 13, 2011I can not open any MP4 file (let alone move to a track). So, I did things I read here in these post. I installed the latest version of QuickTime and changed the file type to MOV. Was then able to open and select to the time line. Now, when I play the clip in the time line it looks good. However, when I play the project the playback is very slow. Other file types work fine including clips that I mix with the MOV clip. The MOV part is slow and the WMD part is fine. Tried converting the MP4 to other formats but the quality suffers greatly. All this conversion really takes time. Will VS ever be able to read a MP4 file like other similar routines?

I have been using this computer with X5 and XP professional and it works fine. I have a selection of vsp files that I use as templates, the only time I have had this message before is when I had my template vsp files write protected, which I have stopped doing. I have now installed Windows 7 on this same computer but cant open any of my previous projects. These projects were created using X5.

Apr 13, 2012I opened a previously saved project and all the AVI files have blank spaces. When I click properties it says the file is unreadable. When I try to open the file it says unable to open file, catastrophic failure.
These are the same files that I used to edit and render a video a few months ago, and I was able to successfully open the same file in Windows Media Player. I am using VSX4 on a Windows 7 laptop. I'm not sure what updates are installed.
The video file is DV AVI file (720 x 480, 28854 kbps data rate, 298788 kbps total bitrate, and 29 FPS).

Dec 22, 2011Is there any way to copy a project from Final Cut Pro (fcp) and open in VideoStudio? I have someone who has done hundreds of hours of work on a video and I'd like to take over the project... but he used FCP.
I know I can have him produce a the video and then open it back up as a video, but I'm hoping to avoid the loss inherent in such a move.

Sep 25, 2011At the moment, the only file format that I can import on the edit tab is *.wmv. There should be no issue importing *.avi or *.mp4 or any other format for that matter, but it fails to open the files. I keep getting the same "unable to open the file 17101:7:1" error for seemingly no reason. Everyone says this software's functionality is wonderful, but if it won't even let you bring in normal files it's looking less and less useful all the time.
