VideoStudio :: No Video When Playing Project - Version 10
Feb 6, 2011when I try to preview my project, I do not get any video. I can hear the audio though. When I preview individual clips I have both audio and video.

VideoStudio :: No Sound When Playing Project?
Jan 2, 2013i was work on some project and it's was going well and everything was just fine but then i've saved it and close the program (went to watch tv). after few minutes i've opend the program again but then the sound didnt play with "project" but only when i play the clip alone or in edit sound mode. * when i'm playing the project on "audio" instead of "thumbnail" it's working fine...

Nov 11, 2013I am working on creating a project and it all goes well when I have it in the edit tab. I am able to listen to the audio and watch the video.
When I hit the Share Tab and watch it the audio disappears and I can't hear anything anymore but can still see the picture.
I have split the audio from the video to see if this corrects the problem and it doesn't. I know my microphone is picking up the audio or I wouldn't be able to hear it in the edit tab. I have made several videos before using the program and have never encountered this before.

Jan 25, 2011I have few avi video clips which I believe I imported from camcorder using windows moviemaker. When I play those clips in any media player they play fine.
I have latest Corel Video Studio Pro X3. When I import this videos into timeline and play clips sound plays fine but when I play the project there is no audio. Even if I render it there is no sound.
VideoStudio :: MP4 File - No Audio Playing In Project
Jan 2, 2013I am using VS Pro X2 - I have 3 small MP4 files in my project timeline (filmed on my mobile phone) and for some reason although they play fine on the clip, the audio doesn't come out on the Project, or on the finished DVD, which is a real pain...I have 94 minutes of good quality DVD and 45 seconds of silence! If there was no audio at all I could understand it, but the MP4 clips all play fine on the "clip"...it''s just that when I play them under the 'Project', there is no audio.
My original DV files (which are all ok) are MPEG Audio Layer 2 files - 48000Hz, 16 Bit Stereo - bitrate 224kbps
The MP4 clips are MPEG AAC Audio files - 48000Hz, 16 Bit Stereo - bitrate 113kbps

Mar 7, 2013In VS Pro 4, in edit mode, I get no sound when I play the project but sound is OK when I play the clip. Then if I switch on the sound mixer I get sound when I play the project.

Jan 22, 2012I am having a very difficult time trying to figure out what is wrong with my audio in VSPx4.
When I put a video in the timeline and click on it so it is on the "clip" the video plays fine but the minute I switch it to "project" the audio dissappears. If I render it in any format, the audio doesn't return. Also, if I multi-trimm a video I am no longer able to get audio either.
Lastly, if I split the audio from the video I cannot play the project at all. It just gives me a frozen screen...
I have re-installed VSPx4 and have all the patches updated.
VideoStudio :: MP3 Files Not Playing In Library But Plays In Project
Nov 19, 2012I just upgraded to Windows 8. All with Videostudio X5 is working fine, except MP3 files will not play in the Library. I get this strange hiss. If I drop the mp 3 file into the time line on any audio track and then play the project it plays fine. Wave files play fine. I did a uninstall and re-install of X5 to see If that would fix the problem.

Sep 24, 2011I'm using Corel VideoStudio X4. I'm facing problem that there is no any audio for any type of video playing. AVI, MP4.. any type of file I play, no audio plays.. All files are checked & plays correctly in any video player, GOM, VLC player etc...
No problem with video files. there is no audio for sample files provided by corel itself. When I play mp3 like audio files, sound plays perfectly. But some problem with video files only... I edited one file but no audio for that file also when I play edited clip in video player like VLC.
PC Configuration:
Windows 7 Ultimate.
HP DV6 laptop. 1GB graphic card, i5 2nd Gen.
VideoStudio :: Video Not Playing Smooth In Preview Bar?
Jun 17, 2013I am a amateur editor and do the basic stuff with the editing like color fixing and cropping/cutting. Since the time, i switched to HD videos the video does not render and playback smoothly in preview mode.
However in other editing programs like Vegas it plays back like butter but i am not into Vegas and i dont like vegas. I use Videostudio only.
the video plays back like in 1FPS or like 2-3FPS i mean the videos one picture is shown then directly after 2-3 seconds. The audio is howver smooth.

VideoStudio :: Crashing When Playing Video Clips?
Mar 29, 2013I had VisualStudio x5 working fine on my Windows 8 Pro machine. I've been using this for a few months without issue. I imported some video from my phone in .MOV format, and had the message that I needed install quicktime to work with this video. I did so, edited video, and posted it.
However when I then imported video from my Canon camcorder, AVCHD format, I received a crash dump in trying to play any of the clips. What's strange is that I was able to look at old sections of clips I'd saved and play them find. Only the newer clips were an issue. I suspected corrupt files, re-imported things and it didn't work. I even recorded new video and that didn't work. I was up to date on patches from Corel, according to the product.
I was in a bind, so I decided to upgrade to x6, even though none of the features were really important. I upgraded, imported the same videos I'd had issue with in x5 and they worked. Problem solved, or so I thought.
I had to run x5 to access some old clips to put together a short reel. I did that and things worked fine. I then went back to x6 and received crash dumps on all imported files, including the video I had just imported. I can still play the edited pieces of clips I separated out in x6, but I cannot play any full clips.
I've rebooted multiple times, removed quicktime, uninstalled and reinstalled x6, no go.
VideoStudio :: 1080 Versus 720 Video In Version 4 Or 5?
May 30, 2012Are the bigger 1080 files harder to work with or slower than 720? I have a Panasonic camera that takes 720 video and VideoStudio 4 seems to handle them pretty well.
I might be getting a Canon that can do 1080 for my upcoming honeymoon. Since DVDs go back down to 480i or whatever, does shooting in 1080 really add anything quality-wise when converting to back down to 480 DVD?
I don't have a blu-ray maker on my machine, but maybe someday so don't know if should shoot videos in 1080 or 720. So should I shoot 1080 just in case? Are the files a lot bigger?
VideoStudio :: Combining Different Video Formats In A Project?
Jul 13, 2013I have several different video clips with different formats from different cameras I'd like to use in one project. Is this possible and if so, is the rule to use the lowest common denominator? e.g. One file type is 25fps, 720x576 non-hd and another is 50fps, 1280x720 hd, so the output would have to use the first specs? What about different clips and the upper, lower, frame based thingy? I did try one experiment combining the two examples above using the first specs to create and avi file and the original 720x576 quality was reduced but the 1280x720 came out fine. Thats why Im asking - If I created the output based on the first lower specs, why did the clip with those specs turn out worse?

Mar 31, 2011If my video project is to big to fit on a 4.7G disc and X4 prompt to fit it in the burn to ISO or Video TS stage, the end result have 1 or more video clips converted to heavily low quality, approximately a bit more than 3000 bit rate, but not all the video clips are converted. The end result is that some video clips have grainy scenes with some artifacts on the TV.
Since it is very time consuming to batch convert all the videos of the project to a lower bit rate in order to fit it on a 4.7G disc (choosing one bit rate specification, see if all videos plus menus fit, choose another lower bit rate and start batch converting again if not...), I decided to use the 8.5G option of X4 with the original quality formerly rendered videos and finish the dvd building in that way. After that I choose DVD Shrink 3.2 to compress it on 4.7G. DVD Shrink successfully compress a 5.2G project DVD to 4.7G (actually 4.4G) with a 95% compression rate with a sharp function. The overall end result's playback quality was far more better than when using batch convert to a lower bit rate with X4. Just want to mention that X2 handled such a compress to fit request better.
The last time I've needed to go the DVD Shrink way for compressing large DVD sizes were in the days of VS 11. By mentioning VS11, that was also the time when I got several crashes with DVD authorizing. I remember I had to set VS 11 to convert all DVD compliant MPEG again to have a smooth playback without Video/Audio multiplexing problems.I always use formerly rendered MPEG2 files. I never use the edited project to author a DVD.
VideoStudio :: Copy Video Clips From One Project To Another?
Nov 20, 2012I'm working on a project that pulls together many short clips from many much longer video files e.g. there might be less than a minute pulled from a 60 minute file then another then another etc. I found that my computer (which is reasonably beefy) was struggling to cope with the workload so I split the project into separate project files i.e. Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3. My thinking was that once I had done all the editing I could cut and paste all the clips into a single new project file before rendering the entire thing. But I can't work out how to do it! Sure, I can copy and past individual clips or even a sequence of clips but on pasting they lose all the editing I've done! I just end up with a uniform bunch of unedited clips!
I guess the alternative is to render each project file (1, 2 and 3) separately then pull the rendered videos together into Project 4. I can then render Project 4 to give me my final 'movie'. But surely that means as I've rendered everything twice I'm suffering a quality loss?
So the question is: is there any way of copying edited video clips from one project file into another project file AND retaining all the edits?

VideoStudio :: X4 Project Properties Cannot Match Source Video
Mar 20, 2011In VS X4 we do not have the ability to match the project properties to the specs of the source video. When editing "project properties", we only have two choices for compression (NTSC DVD and PAL DVD) which only allow a maximum resolution of 720. In X2 we had many more choices which included MPEG-2 where we could get up to 1920.
I thought it was rule number one to match the project properties to the source video. Maybe that is not so important anymore, but snapshots for freeze frames must be done in project mode to include any attributes. The resulting snapshot is the resolution of the project properties and therefore not the same as the orignal video. Once rendered, it will not look the same as it's parent frame. Maybe freeze frames are not important to anyone else, but they are to me.
I shoot with a Canon HV20, so I need 1440x1080. I have created an empty project in X2 with the correct properties that I use to start projects in X3 and X4. X4 appears to maintain the project properties once they are set.
VideoStudio :: Pro X5 - DVD Burn From Project / Audio Ahead Of Video
Nov 20, 2012I am burning DVDs from an hour long project file in ProX5, of a two act opera. Act I burned fine, but Act II which is a separate project comes out on the DVD with the audio ahead of the video. I am making coasters, have quite a collection. I've never had this problem before with burning DVDs. I have burn speed set to 16x, not maximum. In the past I normally use the project rendered to a movie for the DVD burn, but with editing changes I keep making, it is faster to just burn directly from the project.
I am not using a separate audio file. The audio is embedded in the video.When I play the project and not the DVD, the audio and video are fine.

May 28, 2011I'm trying to match the project settings to an imported HD video clip (1920x1080 *.mts).I've been using videoStudio for years but only in 720x480 SD. I just got a Panasonic HDC-SDT750PP HD camera and want to make sure the video output file makes the most out of both camera and X3 but in project settings it only allows 720x480.
Does the project setting have any affect on the final video file?The properties of the video file says 1920x1080 24b H264 yet the source file extension is *.mts
My intention is to create a HD video file that I burn to a Hybrid DVD until I get a Blu-ray burner but what format to save the file in if the X3 project setting only goes to 720x480.

Nov 26, 2013Any solution regarding why video is not playing LR 5.2? In the past video worked fine until this update. I have looked thru the threads and see that other people have had a similar problem. One person said she reinstalled numerous times and then suddenly it began working?!?! I have downloaded all updates and it does not work. Yet I have confirmed that i can go to the files directly and open/play them using other programs.

When the back button is pressed teh animaiton returns to this state but the video still plays in the backround.
