View 3 RepliesHaving just download a free trial and being very new to revit--I notice when I open revit and the project I have been working on I can see faintly and briefly the properties and project browser box but they disappear as it's opening and I cannot figure out how to get them on my screen.
Did I hide them somehow with out realizing it? Where do I go to get them back on my screen again?
I have re-arrange the Properties and Project browser from their original position, I cannot figure out how to put them back in their default position , I'm having hard time navigating thru my project because of this mess.
See the attached picture.
I've just downloaded the student revit-architecture, however even after reinstalling I cannot find the elevations in 'Project Browser'. I only have floor plans and ceiling plans. Is it hidden somewhere?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was working on a project adding topography and trees when revit crashed. I saved a recovery file which i then opened and saved over the old file. what I hadn't noticed was the the defaut site view in the project browser had gone missing. how to recover this view / plan which shows the topography, origin point and survey points etc?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn ACA 2011 I have the project browser icon. This is easy to find and use in the 2011 quick access toolbar.
When I open the "Customize user interface" I find and select "Project Browser", then I see under the properties of the command I only see "Display" and "Advanced" nothing else is listed. This command is quite odd compared to other commands.
However, in ACA 2013 this icon is completely missing, I cannot find it in the quick access toolbar, when I search in the "Customize user interface" command list, I cannot find "Project Browser" in the search field of the command list.
How do I find the command for project browser so that I can drag it / steal it from another .cuix file?
Bonus Question: How do I stop the sheet set manager from always showing up? I use the sheets tab of the project navigator all the time.
how to add custom browser views to the project browser window. See the attached image
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using Acad Architecture 2010, and my quick access toolbar does not have the Project Browser Icon, and my application panel has no Save or Open Project Browser either. I can only get to it by "Configure" in Project Standards panel. It is not in CUI.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just opened two separate projects in Revit Architecture 2014 and the Properties window and the Project Browser Window will not dock. When I double click on the top tab of each one, it will expand in width to the full width of my screen. I recently upgraded from 2013 to 2014. Is this a 2014 glitch?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have created new levels e.g T.O.F. & T.O.G. but they will not show up under the existing Floor Plans section in the Browser. All I get is a new section Titled: ???! How do I get these new levels to show with the rest of my levels under the floor plans category. Using Revit Ultimate 2014.

Worksharing enabled project. When I delete anything from the browser; views, family types, families, Revit crashes. Was able to delete views such as sections by finding and selecting section tag within plan and deleting within view, but deleting same instance from project browser crashes Revit. Deleting types within 'purge unused' dialog does not result in crash also.
Have reset registry values for Current User, confirmed SP2 install, confirmed Hardware Acceleration is turned off. Still crashing.
I am attempting to learn revit via the on-line tutorials. I have figured how put in walls, doors, and furniture. I would like to do some elevation work and I notice I have no project browser.
How do I bring up the project browser?
In starting a new project, I renamed "Level 1" to "Street Level" and "Level 2" to "Level 1". Next I added two additional levels in the drawing, "Level 2" and "Level 3".
My Project Browser shows only Level 1, Site, and Street. Why do the Levels 2 and 3 not show under and how can I get them to.
I have created a door family that has a concrete fill that replaces the insulation in an insulated precast wall. When I cut a section through the jambs looking down it looks correct but when the section is looking up the concrete fill pattern is not visible.
I would typically cut my sections looking up so that the exterior face is down in the view as it will be cast.
I am opening my project on a different pc than I started the project on. Some elements are missing such as materials, material jpgs and decals. Is there a way I can generate list of my custom elements that I need to somehow transfer to this other pc rather tracking manually. When I transfer my custom materials to the other pc how do I get the element to automatically read the material.
For example, I have kitchen cabinets with a custom paint color. I can transfer the paint material to the other pc but the cabinets don't recognize it automatically. I have to choose the cabinets and re-assign the material even though it is in the material list.
How can I change the way the Project Browser maps the creation of new projects?
Currently, the new project folder is created and named according to the Project Name prompt. We want the folder to be named according to the Project Number prompt...
When I first time use AutoCAD 2013, my Properties toolbar can be displayed by right-clicking at the pull-down menu at click on the properties. But now I could not find the properties option anymore after right-clicking at the pull-down menu. get back my properties toolbar displayed in my AutoCAD 2013.

The information im interested is shown in attachment properties 1 (This is from Civil3d). In the properties pallet in plain autocad this information is missing se attachment Properties 2 (From plain autocad).
Is there any way to reach this information in plain autocad. This is in autocad 2014.
When creating custom materials and utilizing them within your Revit project, are the image files embedded within the RVT file and thereby increasing file size? I was needing to know before we load down the project file (.rvt) with many custom materials. Hopefully it is just a pointer to a separate material file.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Autodesk Revit Architecture 2013. I am using mirror project from the manage pulldown under position. I have used this tool many times in the past with success. This particular home is an average size two story. The file is about 40Mb. I tried flipping the home and Revit gets to about 29% and stopps. I let it run for an hour over lunch, even over night and no luck. I tried the same house on another computer running Autodesk Revit Arch. 2013 and it did the same thing.
I tried purging the file, I made sure nothing was locked, I even got rid of my grouped items. I tried copying the plan into another "fresh" file with nothing extra (like title blocks or other families).
I do have some floor framing shown in this plan. I used structural 2x10s to produce the framing (I did try getting rid of the framing and it didnt work). I tried turning off the roof lines (it has about three reverse gables) and nothing.
Not sure what to categorize this as, throw it under another 2013 oddity.
We have a project that has some filled regions causing graphics issues. What happens is the plan elements around a filled region are being transposed onto the filled region causing a "ghosting" affect on the filled region. See attachment.
It is happening in both Arch and MEP and I've tested it with update 2 and update 3 installed. No changes with an audit either.
For no apparent reason the Render Button at the bottom of the view frame has disappeared. With RayTrace I just get a black screen. It was all working fine then suddenly the problem occurred.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the PC - I can render in MAX Design as normal.
For some reason unknown to us the Project Browser has double entries for the current projects: that is, a project shows up twice, with the same job number and such.
Windows Explorer correctly shows only one project folder, and in the Project Browser selecting either entry will bring up the project correctly. So, functionally we could live with this but I'd like to clean this up and I think deleting either entry would actually delete the project.
I used railing tools and created railing in the project files. i want to change rail and Baluster.i created metric baluster and rail from family and saved in the local drive. i used in to my project also it is working fine.
i want to use this railing to some other project. how to get it either copy past or revit link or any other way because the railing created in project file.
AutoCad 2012 and 13- PROJECT NAVIGATOR or project browser disappears in Classic view.
We are running 2012 and like the look of the older versions. We are using the Autocad Classic workspace, BUT the Project Browser and all that jazz is missing. Where or how do i get it back?
Al my projects, settings and templates use the Metric system.
When i open the material physical properties i see the Imperial System.
How can i change this ?
Some parts properties of one project has partially or completely grey in browser.
Nothing special had happened prior to this problem. It happened with some absolutely irregular and not systematic affection as like a fallen and broken ink bottle makes something completely colored and some other stuff just partially and some not.
I mean some parts properties are completely grey and some have just several grey properties while some other are not affected (see video link)
It is a permanent bug and seems it belongs to the part itself since the reloading Inventor and windows and Task Scheduler attempts to fix it - all gray colors stay exactly where they were before and in same irregularity. Opening the affected parts in other project gave the same result as in original one.

I have to set up a project in Navigator so we can get started on it but I will have to go back and change the project number when we get it.
My question is how do I change the project no so that it re paths everything and reorganizes itself numerically in Windows Explorer...or should I just create a new project in Navigator and copy the files I need into the new project?
Where the properties browser settings are located so that I can turn the browser on for modifying parameter keys in factory layout? I actually had turned this browser on before, but now I cannot remember where they were. Please see the attachment for further info.
