I am attempting to learn revit via the on-line tutorials. I have figured how put in walls, doors, and furniture. I would like to do some elevation work and I notice I have no project browser.
When I try to open the material browser in Revit 2014, the screen opens. But suddenly Revit in totally doesn't work and it says 'Does not respond'When i try to close the material browser the whole program closes and my work is lost unsaved.
I've just downloaded the student revit-architecture, however even after reinstalling I cannot find the elevations in 'Project Browser'. I only have floor plans and ceiling plans. Is it hidden somewhere?
I just opened two separate projects in Revit Architecture 2014 and the Properties window and the Project Browser Window will not dock. When I double click on the top tab of each one, it will expand in width to the full width of my screen. I recently upgraded from 2013 to 2014. Is this a 2014 glitch?
I have created new levels e.g T.O.F. & T.O.G. but they will not show up under the existing Floor Plans section in the Browser. All I get is a new section Titled: ???! How do I get these new levels to show with the rest of my levels under the floor plans category. Using Revit Ultimate 2014.
Having just download a free trial and being very new to revit--I notice when I open revit and the project I have been working on I can see faintly and briefly the properties and project browser box but they disappear as it's opening and I cannot figure out how to get them on my screen.
Did I hide them somehow with out realizing it? Where do I go to get them back on my screen again?
Worksharing enabled project. When I delete anything from the browser; views, family types, families, Revit crashes. Was able to delete views such as sections by finding and selecting section tag within plan and deleting within view, but deleting same instance from project browser crashes Revit. Deleting types within 'purge unused' dialog does not result in crash also.
Have reset registry values for Current User, confirmed SP2 install, confirmed Hardware Acceleration is turned off. Still crashing.
I have re-arrange the Properties and Project browser from their original position, I cannot figure out how to put them back in their default position , I'm having hard time navigating thru my project because of this mess.
In starting a new project, I renamed "Level 1" to "Street Level" and "Level 2" to "Level 1". Next I added two additional levels in the drawing, "Level 2" and "Level 3".
My Project Browser shows only Level 1, Site, and Street. Why do the Levels 2 and 3 not show under and how can I get them to.
I was working on a project adding topography and trees when revit crashed. I saved a recovery file which i then opened and saved over the old file. what I hadn't noticed was the the defaut site view in the project browser had gone missing. how to recover this view / plan which shows the topography, origin point and survey points etc?
How can I change the way the Project Browser maps the creation of new projects?
Currently, the new project folder is created and named according to the Project Name prompt. We want the folder to be named according to the Project Number prompt...
My content browser is being finicky. The palettes are there, I can select the I-drop but when I release the dropper in my file, nothing happens, no error, no content???
Is it possible to unload and reload just the content browser?
For some reason unknown to us the Project Browser has double entries for the current projects: that is, a project shows up twice, with the same job number and such.
Windows Explorer correctly shows only one project folder, and in the Project Browser selecting either entry will bring up the project correctly. So, functionally we could live with this but I'd like to clean this up and I think deleting either entry would actually delete the project.
I'm using Acad Architecture 2010, and my quick access toolbar does not have the Project Browser Icon, and my application panel has no Save or Open Project Browser either. I can only get to it by "Configure" in Project Standards panel. It is not in CUI.
I used railing tools and created railing in the project files. i want to change rail and Baluster.i created metric baluster and rail from family and saved in the local drive. i used in to my project also it is working fine.
i want to use this railing to some other project. how to get it either copy past or revit link or any other way because the railing created in project file.
I want to be able to have All Work Planes set as 'Invisible' but create a Message.box or Icon that allows me to change the Visibility of any individual workplane(s) physically selected in the browser.
A rule written by another member should do the trick if the following line could be altered so as not to read 'For Each' oWorkPlane but instead for 'Each Selected' oWorkplane.
'For Each oWorkPlane In docFile.ComponentDefinition.WorkPlanes'
'get user input oInput = InputRadioBox("Select workplane visibility:", _ "Turn ON workplanes for all components", "Turn OFF workplanes for all components", "False", "iLogic") 'Define the open document (top level assembly) Dim openDoc As Document openDoc = ThisDoc.Document
AutoCad 2012 and 13- PROJECT NAVIGATOR or project browser disappears in Classic view.
We are running 2012 and like the look of the older versions. We are using the Autocad Classic workspace, BUT the Project Browser and all that jazz is missing. Where or how do i get it back?
In ACA 2011 I have the project browser icon. This is easy to find and use in the 2011 quick access toolbar.
When I open the "Customize user interface" I find and select "Project Browser", then I see under the properties of the command I only see "Display" and "Advanced" nothing else is listed. This command is quite odd compared to other commands.
However, in ACA 2013 this icon is completely missing, I cannot find it in the quick access toolbar, when I search in the "Customize user interface" command list, I cannot find "Project Browser" in the search field of the command list.
How do I find the command for project browser so that I can drag it / steal it from another .cuix file?
Bonus Question: How do I stop the sheet set manager from always showing up? I use the sheets tab of the project navigator all the time.

When working in an assembly model or part my 'find in browser' command has disappeared under the right click menu - why and how to retrieve it?
Inventor Professional 2013. Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013 SP2 64-Bit Edition Windows 7 HP Z400, Intel Xeon W3550 3.07GHz 12.0GB RAM, ATI FirePro V4800 (FireGL)
It is about year I use Project Basejump (Bing Map servise) for AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 in my AutoCAD Map 2013 and it works good.
But lately I wanted to test AutoCAD Map 2014 downloading from Autodesk website demo version. I saw that Project Basejump for AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 can not installed to the new - AutoCAD Map 2014 version. I thought that it may be possible copping DLL files from FDO AutoCAD Map 2013 folder to FDO AutoCAD Map 2014 folder and adding commands (or strings) from "provider.xml' of AutoCAD Map 2013 to AutoCAD Map 2014 "provider.xml' file. But it did not worked. Is there any way to use Project Basejump in AutoCAD Map 2014?
I don't normally use libraries. I'm just not a big fan of them, so if I'm wrong here about a basic concept it's no surprise. My understanding was that if you add a folder location to a project under the library heading (see image) then everything in it automatically becomes read-only when that project is active.
My intention was to test some of 2014's functionality on products that I have drawn in 2013 without mucking up my other designers who I'm not ready to upgrade, yet. So, I copied some assemblies over to a new folder on my network completely outside of the root folder of the normal working directories. I then assigned that working directory as a library in the new project file I created in 2014 specifically for testing it. I expected this to allow me to open my files without a bunch of unresolved reference problems and not have to worry about accidentally migrating files that I'm not ready to migrate.
So, why did I still manage to migrate a bunch of file that are located in the working directory that's supposed to be write protected?! Now I have actual product files that can't be opened in 2013. Luckily, I can restore these from a back-up, but what did I miss here? Did I not check a certain box somewhere or am I missing the whole concept? I really doubt this critical function of Inventor is somehow bugged in 2014.
I'm trying to set up Backburner and 3DS Max Design, and I'm a newbie to both. I'm getting the warning 'Could not find a Manager. Will keep trying...' when I try to connect to my manager machine from the server machine using the manager's IP address. I can connect to the manager from the monitor on the server machine, however, and I can connect from a virtual machine running Windows 8. The server machine is running Windows Server 2012 - I haven't been able to find where someone says if you can or can't use Server 2012.
Everytime i switch project files for any reason, Inventors response time to anything gets to the point i have to close the program and open it back up. After the program restart I'm able to use it again, but then when I have to change project files it does the same thing again. It's wasting a lot of time for me and I'd rather not format and reinstall everything.
Was instructed to use arch titleblock. I created my own shared parameters file. I can physically click on the sheet and name the sheet but the name doesnt change in the project browser,
So I created a shared parameters file. I created the parameters I needed (in this case the sheet title). The parameter properties discipline set to common, type set to text. I edited each label I wanted to re-associate. Hit new, selected the shared parameter, removed the arch label and added mine. I loaded into project and had it overwrite parameters. Then I went to the project parameters and added my shared parameters and under category applied to the sheets.
why the two (project browser and the sheet itslef arent talking?
