I was given footage that was shot in 640x480, though the video is still in a widescreen format and has letter boxing. My boss would like to have just the video footage without the letter boxing at the top and bottom of the screen. How do I change the frame size of the clip so that only the video footage can be seen?
I am fairly new to the this and am learning by playing around with the software. I'm working with Premiere Pro.
I have some MOV quicktime files that look fine in preview, when I move them over to program they get a letterbox around them. How can get the files to view in full frame in program?

How do I identify what any given color is?
When I click on a letter, it shows me a visual block of the color, but doesn't tell me what the corresponding color number is.
Problem being, if I see one letter and want to take its color to use it elsewhere, I have no way of knowing what that color is.
How to remove a partial black frame at end of video sequence? 1/8 of end frame is black. I inserted last clip on timeline and it ends with this last scene with 1/8th vertical black bar. I just need to know how to stretch out that last frame to get rid of the black so the whole image is there without messing up the audio file.

Syncing in plural eyes is good with our pro res files, but when I try and sync with some mp3 files from a zoom h1 recorder it goes black at the bottom of the timeline and responds really buggy.

How do I outline a letter or a number? For example, I have a black, arial font, 200 pt number 5. I would like to put a thin outline of another color, say red, around it. I have tried making a larger number 5 on a different layer and placing it under the smaller number but that gives me more of a drop shadow effect which is not what I am looking for.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI rebuild old wood working tools and frequently have a need to reproduce the original decals found on these machines. My normal procedure is to take a photo of the decal in high res, import it into gimp then use the tools available to "copy" the image onto another layer(s) in very high res. This produces a nice decal that I can then use on my machines.
The problem I am having however is that most of the lettering on these decals isn't quite a normal font. I can normally find something close, but then I need some way to stretch or otherwise modify individual letter so the fit exactly the text being copied.
When using MText, how does one change the spacing in between the letters?

However if I stretch the whole letter, the left "leg" of the 'R' goes down as well. I just want to stretch the right "leg" of the 'R' so that it reaches the bottom of the word Agency.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently using CS2 working in a sign shop designing signs, banners and vehicle lettering.
When working with text I need to know the exact letter height, not the em and without the leading. I need it exactly the way it would measure if converting the text to outlines. The reason I need this information is that when I output the lettering to a cutter/plotter to cut vinyl media I need to know the exact measurement so I can nest my lettering on my media size. The media is typically 24" wide which gives me 22.5" of available space once the pinch rollers on the machine are considered. Pinch rollers are rollers that engage a knurled driving wheel and "pinches" the media between them and thus guides the media through the plotter. Of course, when using any media one must make the best use of it to avoid making scrap or using more than is needed for the job at hand. Converting text to outlines gives me that measurement.
One time awhile back I did a google search on this and found a one or two button fix that made the bounding box snap to the exact "ruler" height of the text. It worked great. But I got away from design work for a short period. When I returned I'd forgotten the process. Back when I did find it I never bookmarked or made a text file explaining the process and I'm ost in finding it again.
I don't know exactly how I worded the google search but the answer I was looking for came up on the first page. That's probably why I didn't feel the need to bookmark it or write it down. Now, I've googled dozens of different wordings for my question and get nothing. It's likely a nomenclature/jargon issue and I've yet to stumble on it again.
As it is, when I get to the point that I need to know the exact ruler height of my lettering I convert my text to outlines. But then, as sometimes happens, I'll desire to change the font or try someting different but the text is not live so I'll have to start over with that line of lettering.
I was typing some text onto a picture and needed to use a letter from the 'Character Map'. Normally I just 'Drag and Drop', but it would not work on PE. I also tried to get it using the code for the letter and it did not work either, but I am not familiar with using the codes, so maybe I was doing it wrong.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using an external hard drive with a laptop PC running Lightroom 3. Every now and again I unplug from my ext HD to leave home with my laptop. When I return and plug the ext HD back into the USB slot I realize that the computer has allocated the ext HD a different drive letter than it had the last time it was plugged in. This confuses Lightroom and puts question marks all over the folders on the file drive letter that it had the ext HD stored under previously.
Is there anything I can do to make the computer name the ext HD the same letter every time?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the last few months I have had problems outlining letters. I think it began when I upgraded from Draw 12 to x5. When printing the project, outlining isn't complete on the corners of the letters. The fill of the letter and a small amount of white appear at all 90 degree areas. Curved letters do not have the problem. I will give you an example.

On all corners, there is black & white exposed instead of solid pink.
I am looking for the best way to carry this out. I have a drawing which I have scanned into my computer. The drawing is of one big shape made up of random, interlocking shapes - something like a jigsaw. Each of the shapes I want to be filled with different, single words.
I think cutting out each shape one at a time, filling with text then re piecing together may be the best option?
I should say that nothing of the original drawing needs to stay in the finished image, it's really just the shapes I am after so piecing them back together in a new document could be an option.
this layer appears to be limited to the layer palette. many of us will start typing for the layer when searching instead of scrolling. now in the layer pull down in the ribbon this works as expected start typing the layer name (2-3 letters) and it locates the layer. if this is done using the palette it will only search to the first letter. if i use the classiclayer dialog it works the same as the drop down from the ribbon.
