When using MText, how does one change the spacing in between the letters?
Acad 2010
Im trying to change my letter spacing in my style and I cant seem to figure out how to do it. The picture here is my Autocad 2012 on the left and on the right is what I get from another company. How can I change my style so the lettering is more spaced out like the one on the right? This is not just for the tolerance box. All my dimensions have a similar problem where the text is not spaced out.
Such as if I make a dimension, it says "R.125" where there is no space between the "R" and ".125"
I need to fix spaicing and I can not locate the menu...
View 12 Replies View RelatedHow can I introduce negatives values to letter-spacing like
.myStyle
{
letter-spacing:-0.03em;
}
currently the field allows only positive values, and when I try to enter negative ones, it simply chops the minus sign.
I have questions in 2012 pipe network labels.
We are having problems with running out of space and would like to squeeze the line spacing between lines to get more room. We know how to do that in standard MTEXT but can't find the equivalent in the label settings.
I have also noticed problems getting dragged pipe labels to stack. I check the box to stack on drag, but it doesn't seem to do it. We created a separate stacked label style.
Is there a way I can adjust the spacing of objects like I can adjust the tracking of text. just a simple slider that adjust the distrobution of them. the objects are all different hights so there isn't anything in the align window that is useful. I'm looking for something that I can say "space 20px apart" or "space 12px apart." and dont have to deal with moving each object individually.

I understand there is no built-in way to adjust spacing between letters in Elements, but I would like to do that just for two words, so I am looking for a workaround. I thought it would be possible to copy out a letter, select the arrow tool and then paste it back in as a separate element but that does not seem to work. Is there a way to do this in Elements?

View 1 Replies View RelatedPSE doesn't show the user all the text formatting capabilities available in PhotoShop, but this script can alter the tracking (character spacing) of the text on a layer.
Here are the steps to use the script:
Open Notepad.Copy this text and paste it into Notepad:/*<javascriptresource><name>Character Tracking</name><enableinfo>true</enableinfo><menu>automate</menu><about>Adjust the kerning.</about><category>Typography</category></javascriptresource>*/var targettext = app.activeDocument.activeLayer.textItemtargettext.tracking = 30
Use "Save As" with the File Type of "All Files" to save it asCharacter tracking.jsxin the C:Program Files (x86)AdobePhotoshop Elements 10PresetsScriptsdirectory.Keep the .JSX file open in Notepad.Start PSE. You'll have a new menu item: File...Automation Tools...Character Tracking.Create a document in PSE with some text on a text layer. With a text layer selected, run the Character Tracking script. To adjust the tracking, simply switch to Notepad and change the numeric value after the equals sign, save the file and re-run it in PSE. (No need to close and re-open PSE.)
You can use negative values, too -- any number between -1000 and 10000 is OK.
For example, here's the original:
Here the tracking was set to -50:
And here the value was 300:
It works on paragraph text as well.
I have a project with many different blocks of text, and colors changing from letter to letter within words.
How do I identify what any given color is?
When I click on a letter, it shows me a visual block of the color, but doesn't tell me what the corresponding color number is.
Problem being, if I see one letter and want to take its color to use it elsewhere, I have no way of knowing what that color is.
this layer appears to be limited to the layer palette. many of us will start typing for the layer when searching instead of scrolling. now in the layer pull down in the ribbon this works as expected start typing the layer name (2-3 letters) and it locates the layer. if this is done using the palette it will only search to the first letter. if i use the classiclayer dialog it works the same as the drop down from the ribbon.

I want to create a label with a textbox (myabe) in which i will write by my keyboard a word. After that i want to press the "Enter" button and the programm do this simple thing...."SPELL" each letter of my word, an activate a specific command each time and in my case a specific RULE from iLogic.
For example, i wanna whrite my name.....NIKOS....and after pressing the ENTER button, firstly my programm read the letter "N" and trigger the Rule1....After a specific time (that i want to defined by myself, probably with a timer) the programm read the right next letter which is "I" and activate the next Rule2...Until the last letter where it will end.
I should note here that i already have the code that i can calling as Rule i wish. But i dont know how to use it for my job....
The code is the following...
Dim iLogicAuto As Object
Set iLogicAuto = GetiLogicAddin(ThisApplication)
If (iLogicAuto Is Nothing) Then Exit Sub
Dim doc As Document
Set doc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument
[Code] .......
I am using AC LT 2008.
When inputting Single Line Text or Multiple Line Text I want to reduce the space between characters.
I mean the space to the left and right of the characters.
I do not mean the space between the lines of characters.
In typography this is called kerning.
In MS Word this is known as condensing.
I am using Times New Roman as my font of choice.
Currently i have a problem with xrefs. I just changed my network drive from B to A. As all the xref was not working. I only can do is manually remapping the xref. Thats will be wasting time to do that.
Any solution without remapping the xref when change the drive letter?
I am making a iPart with iLogic. I need a function to convert letter to number or convert number to letter as we did in VB for Excel.
For example: Char(65)="A"; CODE("A")=65, and so on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy grid X and Y spacing is 10 so I changed it to be 1 and click ok. The grid change and then I close the program. When I open Autocad, I have to change the grid spacing again because it's back to 10.
Also I try to save the drawing work. The saved one which is already change grid spacing, not have the problem. But open new one, I have to change it again.
Look at the picture attached.
Why does this happen? Every time I open a file where I changed paragraph spacing it always gets back to its default value of x1,00.
When I do a section in a drawing, i always have to replace the letter a end of arrow.
Is there a way so the letters will always be at end of arrow?
I have a question regarding parameter naming. A good number of my parts are made to standards with different size classes. ( AS, MS, JIS etc )
In these parts the dimensions are given with a single letter designation ( A, B, C etc ). Unfortunately, Inventor does not allow some ( a good number actually ) letters to be used as a single digit parameter. Until now I've been using "DimA", "DimB" etc. but I'd like to find a way to use just A, B, C .... just as it is on the prints.

View 2 Replies View RelatedPattern component is great but sometimes I have to pattern the same part several times to different dimensions in the same direction. For example: I have a part that has to go the left 26', then again at 29" and then again at 37". Other than manuallly constraining this 3 different times I've had to Pattern Component the first one at 26", then change the 2nd one to Independent. Then Pattern component that one to the 29" dimension. Change that 2nd one to Independent and pattern component that one to 37". It saves a lot of time but if I have to increase the model they are going on I have to start all over. Is there a command or something that will do this? I understand that a pattern is equal lenghs so maybe I am looking at the wrong command for what I am needing to do.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just started working for a new employer as a 2012 AUTCAD Tech: they have only used old school DTEXT for everything (what a pain compared to multi-text "MTEXT").
Problem: I converted several single line Dtext to Mtext (.075 test height) paragraphs but can not achieve the same spacing they have been using (.225) because .025 is not an availalbe increment in the parapgrah & line spacing selection. Is there a way or a LISP that will allow me to add custom spacing choices to the Line/Paragraph spacing default list?
Then I can upgrade so much and work faster, yet maintain the standard spacing already set via snap grid settings.
