AutoCAD LT :: Remapping Xref When Change Drive Letter
Mar 18, 2013
Currently i have a problem with xrefs. I just changed my network drive from B to A. As all the xref was not working. I only can do is manually remapping the xref. Thats will be wasting time to do that.
Any solution without remapping the xref when change the drive letter?
I have photos stored on a external hard drive, over time the computer changes the drive letter ie from "G" to "I" Lightroom there for is unable to see all the photos in drive G which is in fact the same drive.
I had to uninstall the material library from my C drive. I have a dedicated SSD OS drive with very little extra space to spare.
Now that I need the material library again, when I try to install it, the installer still insists on using 1.2 GB on C.I've browsed for the new drive letter, and the little pop up window still shows it using no space on any other drive, and 1.2 on C.
I am using Windows Vista and Lightroom 3.The drive letter for my external hard drive has changed from "J" to "L". I changed my import preset to "L", so I can now import and access new files. However, all of my previous imports are on this elusive "J" drive, which no longer exists. When I open J from the folders list in Lightroom it shows all my folders with the dreaded giant "?". I have tried to synchronize these folders by right clicking to "merge folders". This did not work. I can open all of these files from my back up folder, but I can't do anything with them in Lightroom. Half of my catalog is un usable.
I have LR 5.2 and I move files off onto a removable drive as a back-up and it allows me to share the pictures with them when they sometimes lose them. Windows 7 routinely assigns the drive to the letter M:, N:, and sometime P: and apparently I cannot see the folders unless the drive is assigned the same letter as it was when I imported the pictures into the catalog. The folders don’t even show up in the library, but if I do an import all of the folders appear as valid destinations within LR. How can I fix this? The first picture is a screen shot of the library; notice that the year 2013 is missing. The second screen shot is what appears when I go to import; note that 2013 appears. The folders simply do not appear in LR except when I attempt import.
When I look at N: in my “working catalog” it shows it as having catalog “AUMC” but the folders in it belong to the part of my working catalog that I have moved to a different external drive since they’re old picture I don’t use much. They all have question marks, but they are resolved with I attach the external drive with those folders on it.
Is it possible to run a lisp which can extract all the xref names, make a layer with that name and then change the xref on the layer? I have got a similar routine from earlier posts but it doesn't work if any xrefs inserted in paper space (works fine on model space). could change this routine allowing to change the layer of xref in paper space too.
(defun dxf (i a) (cdr (assoc i a))) (defun c:lxr ( ) (setq ss (ssget "x" '((0 . "INSERT"))))
I'm new to AutoCad 360 but I'm finding it impossible to find link to Xrefs on the 360 drive - I'm logged in and can see the files in Windows explorer but can't link them into the file... It means I have to work from different locations which is a nightmare for co-ordination.
Im trying to change my letter spacing in my style and I cant seem to figure out how to do it. The picture here is my Autocad 2012 on the left and on the right is what I get from another company. How can I change my style so the lettering is more spaced out like the one on the right? This is not just for the tolerance box. All my dimensions have a similar problem where the text is not spaced out.
Such as if I make a dimension, it says "R.125" where there is no space between the "R" and ".125"
I rebuild old wood working tools and frequently have a need to reproduce the original decals found on these machines. My normal procedure is to take a photo of the decal in high res, import it into gimp then use the tools available to "copy" the image onto another layer(s) in very high res. This produces a nice decal that I can then use on my machines.
The problem I am having however is that most of the lettering on these decals isn't quite a normal font. I can normally find something close, but then I need some way to stretch or otherwise modify individual letter so the fit exactly the text being copied.
I have been using Photoshop Elements for quite some time without any problems. Suddenly it appears the feature to change letter types is not responding. The last type I used seems to be stuck and I can not change to any other type. The window with the different letter types flashes up momentarely, but doe not open to be used. Uninstall / install die not solve the problem.
I thought I once knew how to change the leading of an individual letter in a text, but now I can't remember how to. Do you know the short cut? An example would be using the word Tooth and changing the T to have the top aligned with the cross of the other t in the word!
I have a set of Lightroom Print templates that I am trying to use, that are all for a 4x6 print. I can't get it to work because my page setup in the print module defaults to letter size. When I go in and change the page setup, it messes up the template and it gets all jumbled. Then when I go on to the next template, it switches back to letter size again. I want to create and hold a 4x6 canvas so these templates can either be saved to a 4x6 .jpg or printed on 4x6 paper. I know I can save a printer and page layout as part of a template by clicking the "update settings" once I have it all as i want it, but I can't even get that far because it messes up the template as soon as I change the page settings to 4x6. How do I get the canvas to 4x6 on templates that are already created so I can save them as a 4x6 .jpg or print to 4x6 paper?
I even just installed a printer that only prints 4x6 to see, but again, when I change the page layout it completely messes up the template.
Is it possible to use the Timearp function in the same way as Time Remapping in AE?
I just watched Grants video for a third time and it doesn't really touch on this kind of time manipulation.
specifically i need to add keyframes at specific events then be able to move those keyframes to match up with other moves on a different video layer, and have the "time" between the two keyframes react accordingly.
How to speed up and stabilize a video clip, however, the embarrasing discovery is that a Macintosh proprietary software that comes standard with each Apple computer purchase (Imovie), has a stabilizater and time remapper that works seamlessly.
I have a drawing which has a reference to an external drawing in it for the company logo which is used in the title block. We have moved the location of the company logo to a new drive and thus I need to modify the properties of the path.
But when I open up the properties on this it does not allow me to change the path. I found the only way around this was to delete it and start over using the new path .
change line weight on a xref, i have went into each xref and changed line weight but when i view in model space the line weight is still printing bold.
I'm trying to apply the time remapping settings from my original clips to those that I've colored in DaVinci Resolve. I turned off all effects on my colored clips and graded the entire clip, not just the segment in my original timeline. My workflow thus far has been this:
1) Copy the original clip above the colored clip
2) Revert the speed of the original clip to 100 from where it was adjusted to (the speed of the original clips varies from 500% to 1000% across the timeline)
3) Turn off Time Remapping on the original clips (this is done by deleting all keyframes)
4) Find the In and Out points of the original clip through timecode
5) Set the In and Out points of the colored clip to those of the original
6) Make another copy of the original clip and set it to 100 but don't turn off time remapping
7) Copy the time remapping settings of the original clip to the colored clip
8) Convert the colored clip to the original clip's speed (usually between 500% and 1000%)
Now, in several cases this works, but in others it falls apart at Step 3. When we turn off time remapping, the original clip gets grey stripes over it in the timeline and we cannot see the footage in the Program or Source viewing monitors. We have tried reversing steps 2 and 3, but when we do that the clip gets shrunk down to 1 frame and we lose the original In and Out points.
For the whole project we’ve had this issue, however it’s never effected our drawing until now.
When we receive an background, we use setbylayer to change everything to by layer, then in the layer manager, set the layer colour to 8, so all is grey.
Then we xref that background dwg into our model drawings and doodle all over the thing, pretty standard stuff.
But today, in our model drawing, I’d like to change, well, any of the xref’s layer colours, but I cannot! As soon as I make a change, it reverts back to the original ‘8’ colour. It refuses to change colour.
I’ve changed visretian from 0 to 1, open, closed, changed it again, all combinations but to no avail.
I can freeze, turn off & on layers, just not change the colour (or lineweight).
For several releases Autocad's layer manager has shown only XREF layers in the layer manager by default. Open a drawing with Xrefs (nearly every drawing I have ever worked with) and to access the layers that are actually *in* the drawing, I must first open the layer manager, select the "Xref" filter, and check the Invert Filter box. Then I see the layers that would more logically be shown be default.
Does any way to change this so the non-Xref layers show up be default??? I am currently using Autocad Architecture 2012.
I'm having trouble with the renaming of X-refs.i have made a script file that re-paths required x-refs to a new project, but this leaves the x-ref name as the old x-ref. Any keyboard commands to change the name? or to set the name to file name?
I have a lot of drawings that someone inserted the Xref's, but the Xref's are "Attached, and Full Path"; however, I need to change them to "Overlay, and Relative Path".
I am referencing a survey file in my site plan. Both were created using Civil 3D. I want to change the color of all of the reference files' layers to 250, so I selected them all in the layer properties manager and did so.
However, some layers are not changing colors. One layer is red in the reference file, but comes through on the site plan as magenta. Some Civil3D structures are also refusing to change colors.
I selected all of the objects in the reference file and made sure their colors were "by layer," but it did not completely fix the problem.
In my xref drawing I changed the linetype of a swing to be hidden. After changing it in the xref and saving I go to my plot file and the swing is still continuous. Visretain is set to 1. The swing changes on all other drawing files except one.
