I'm an illustrator and only really just started using Photoshop for anything past basic colouring because I usually prefer vector lines and only just brought a tablet.
When I start a new picture in photoshop it's always the same set up for it, 1500x1000 and 150 dpi, It's a good middle ground for me and the workspace is always easily expandable. That's all fine.
How to reset the work space back to default settings?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe color space I use as a default throughout CS6 for RGB is Adobe RGB 1998. This is because I do not want all my RGB work to be in sRGB. Here is a simple workflow I am having problems with:
1. I set up a new web project and use the sRGB color space
2. I export the file as a flat PNG via 'Save To Web'. In the settings, 'convert to sRGB' is selected.
3. I open the file and color is off. I do not get a color space dialog when opening the file.
4. I need to then go into Assign Profile and assign the sRGB color profile, then...
5. Convert profile to convert to sRGB.
If I do the above but save out a JPEG...
1. When opening the jpeg, again no color warning dialog.
2. When I go to Assign Profile, the default is set to 'Do not color manage this document'.
The above also happens outside of Save to Web, as when I save Layer Comps to PNG files.But...if I save a JPEG file via Save As, the sRGB color space is correctly tagged when I open the file. Odd.Why are not Save to Web's save sRGB color space actually saving the color space in either PNG or JPEG formats?
Why do I get much different results between going from Assign Profile to Convert Profile? I thought Assign was assigning that color profile without converting the actual document, where Convert actually changes the image. I played with the advanced options in convert, but still cannot get anything super close to the original file.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI using a trial version of CS 6 on windows 8 pro. I keep getting flashing in the work space / background when I zoom or move an image around (only some images not all). When I zoom or move an image around the background changes from transparent to various shades of gray to black. I was getting it with selections but after making some changes in Catalyst I fixed it. I have the latest driver for my card. I won't purchase it until this issue is resolved. I see many others have the same issue. It's been a long time since CS6 came out and I'm concerned this won't be fixed. I can just continue to use an older version if need be. I don't want to have to buy another video card just to use PS CS6 properly. If I turn off "Use Graphics Card" it seems fine.This card works fine with other versions so what had changed. At $700 I expect to be able to use it with my video card (AMD Radeon HD 6450) which is not too old.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open an Image in Photoshop CC the image does not appear in my work space. The tab identifies that the image is opened, layers shows the image is open, however it is not on the screen. All tools, brushes etc work, but I can't see what they are doing. I can only see the image if i click the tab and move it around. Once my mouse lets go of the image window it dissapears again. After moving it around and such it gets buggy and the image crashes not Photoshop. i have attached two screen shots of my problem. the second with the image, i have my mouse clicked, held down holding onto the window to acheive this.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm tasked with setting up a new dwt file to be used along with the Sheet Set Manager.
I've got as far as adding in my own custom properties at both the Sheet Set level (things like project name, site name, etc.), and at the Sheet level (drawing title).
But more specifically, at the Sheet Level, I want to be able to facilitate having a multi-line drawing title. Things start to get a little cloudy.
In order to be able to control where the line breaks are, I've simply created 5 fields (3 for an odd number of lines, 2 for even), and I want to set their Default Value so they don't display anything, i.e. a space or blank of some kind, instead of the four dots. So when I want to add the title I go to the Sheet properties and change the value.
I thought it'd be as simple as adding the ASCII code for a space (U+00A0) into the Default Value, but that seems to display the text U+00A0 instead of the space.
Just got the new 2013 version and I'm having this strange problem:
When I open a drawing (that was last saved in Paper Space) and I'm switching to Model Space, my view is not set to "Top" by default. How can I set my view by default to "Top"?

If I click on any of the check boxes or the Ok, Cancel, or Help buttons, nothing happens. The only button that works is the Close button (top-right button with the X in it).

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere is a bug in inventor 2012, where the default dxf version does not apply. It's not a huge issue, but it's quite annoying. Basically, when saving a dxf, I need to change the dxf version each time, regardless of what the default version is (which I've set to 2004). In order to import the files into my cam software (for CNC), it needs to be the Autocad 2004 DXF, so every time I need to save a dxf, I need to go to options and press finish.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to dock three palettes vertically on the right side of my work space but have had no luck at all. I have preferences checked to allow docking and have used the drop down on each palette to mark "docking" as opposed to floating. However, the palettes always stack horizontally (left to right) and very large as opposed to vertically and sized as I want them. I can float each palette and drag each to the right of the screen as shown but they will not dock like this. I have attached a capture file of what I want to happen and another with what happens.

For some reason when I place new text or line work in a file it is fine, but when I save the drawing, close it and re-open it all of the text and line work found in model space goes gray. Yet if I place new text and use the match property command on text placed previously, that is now gray, and use it on new text, the new text recieves the attributes of what the previously placed text has minus the appearance of being gray. In my drawing I am using a shape file and a data connect image through planning and analysis.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo you know what system I have, I use a laptop running Windows 7 64bit, with a dual core processor and 4GB RAM. It's a very capable machine and I don't usually have a problem using LR on it.
After installing LR 3.3 over 3.2 I experienced a problem whereby the PC would not recognise which program to use for opening the lrcat catalog files. Using the Default Programs option in Control Panel didn't work as Windows wouldn't accept Lightroom as the default program and kept suggesting I open the catalog using Adobe Reader instead.
I seem to remember having an issue with the 3.2 update as well but that was simply the icon for file type being missing (showing a default unknown file type icon).
Anyway, resolved the problem but had to resort to downloading a program called Default Programs Editor (http:[url]...... to correct the problem. Am thinking next upgrade, I will uninstall LR completely before installing the update, just to be sure.
Today, all of a sudden, two of my most used functions—holding down the space bar to move the image around and holding down CMD-space bar to zoom—just up and quit on me (I do like the "Scrubby" but it took a little getting used to. It's very touch screen-esque).
I did all of the normal trouble shooting such as deleting the prefs, relaunching, restarting, etc. Nothing. The functions work fine in the other CS5 programs.
I checked through all of the prefs thinking that perhaps I accidentally changed something but I couldn't find anything. If all else fails, I'll do an uninstall/reinstall but only as a last resort.
I did notice that Adobe finally fixed the Distort (in Full Screen Mode) bug that was killing me in CS4.
[URL] Bug is where the Hand move (by holding down Space bar and dragging) stops working. Issue appears to be a conflict with web browsers.
This bug is still present in Photoshop version 12.1 (CS 5). I don't use Firefox, I use Safari and Chrome. Quitting Safari did not fix the problem. Quitting Chrome DID fix the problem.
