View 3 RepliesI'm trying to make a site that has some nice curved lines in it with some transparent sections showing through.
I'm refering to the cool transparent sections in the image section that fade from completly transparent to opaque.
how to make curved lines like these?
The outline of this small fish drawing on paper, it seems with one continuous curve, so in XDPX9 that should be logically with Smooth joins and Making curves
Smooth_join.xar
According to your experience is there maybe some tactic where to put the control handle points? At the curves or rather where the line is straight? After around some minutes probably in any way can be drew around, I am searching the logic rather which decrease that time.
How to make the lines on this image smooth. You will see in the picture that there is some really choppy lines on the headphones and how to properly fix it. I've tried so many times and can't do it.

The  problem that i have is this has many ridiculous curves and concaves. I wanted to know if their was such a tool, like a sculptor tool or something of that nature that will make a smooth 3D curvy figure.
I attached pictures of the chair to this message if that works.
Can ayyone help me with what i suspect is a very simple question to most of you. I've created text in photoshop using a number of different fonts. i've placed antialias on them but they still seem to heve jagged edges!! Can anyone tell me What am i doing or not doing. Ive been using the standard horizontal text tool.
Also i'm teaching myself photoshop using the help section within the software. Do you think this is the most thorough and efficient way to learn?
When I type using "Smooth" font smoothing and the font size is small, all my characters appear in boxes (see image below). It does not happen if the font size is larger (say above 14pt). It also does not happen if I use "Crisp" or "Strong" but it happens to "None" as well. I encountered this problem in CS4 with OpenGL enabled. I turned it off but the problem remained. I also tried to open the same file in CS2 and the problem was exactly the same. I have not encountered this problem in other applications. I've updated my graphics drivers but no change. Thanks! View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using Illustrator CC (on a Win7 Pro machine) at a beginner level, probably halfway to intermediate. I'm trying to learn how to blend colors together for highlights of various types (skin tones, clothing, light on objects, etc.) so that when I'm making a graphic for a project I'll have a decent idea of which tool/technique is best for the specific effect I need.
Â
I'm trying to use the Smooth Color option in the blend tool. Late yesterday afternoon I recall creating two ellipses (one of which was a solid fill and one of which was a gradient going from black to transparent) and getting a smooth color transition between the two. It was a much harsher effect than I was looking for so I didn't keep it. This morning, while trying to replicate the same thing, I seem to be unable to use smooth color between two objects if one or more of them has a gradient applied. I only get what you see below, which is a step between the two objects.
Â
I've done searches and found multiple references to blending gradients in this way and have followed those instructions (create the shapes, fill with the gradients, then either click on the Blend tool and click on the center of each shape, or click on Object -> Blend -> Make) but I can't seem to get a Smooth Color blend if either object has a gradient applied. Am I missing an important step somewhere? I'm 95% sure I accomplished it yesterday and nothing has been changed since then.
I have a white text (without any effects) on a transparent background. When I save it as a .gif image and use it as a logo on a dark background, the text is not smooth anymore. What is the right parameters for saving as a .gif image for web? I mean in the dialog window when saving.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I put text into photoshop CS3, and then zoom into it, the edges are all fuzzy and jaggy.
I was of the opinion that all text were vectors in PS and so the edges should be smooth as. Unfortunately, the text prints out all jaggedy on my laser printer also just like it looks on the screen. I've also played with the anti-alias options somewhat. Obviously when I do this in Illustrator, it is spot on vector, but not in PS.
What am I doing wrong here? When I convert the text into a shape, sure... the nice vector lines appear around text. But shouldn't the text be vector straight up when I create a text layer in PS, and then I should be able to rasterize it when adding filter effects etc?
Is there any way for me to work with my text in Photoshop in sharp vector-resolution so that it's sharp at all resolutions? Let me describe a test I've done:
I open up a A4 300 ppi resolution document in Photoshop and simply type the word "Photoshop" at 72pt size Myriad Pro font. The anti-aliasing is set to 'Crisp'. Firstly, it doesn't look the best as it is on the screen with the edges 'jaggy'. Secondly, I hit print and it tells me I'm printing to a non-postscript printer (i.e my laser which I know IS postscript!!). When it prints out, it looks crap just like it did on my screen (edges jaggy).
I then open up a simple A4 document in Illustrator, type the word "Photoshop" at the same size text as outlined above. Looks great on screen OBVIOUSLY because it's vector-based and is sharp at all resolutions. I hit print, it it spits out the document perfectly printed as it is on screen.
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this with Photoshop, but my text looks garbage only when using Photoshop. Not with any other program out there (ie. MS Word, Publisher, Illustrator, Serif Drawplus, Serif Pageplus, Serif Photoplus....)
Some of the files texts are displaying without smooth edge.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out how to fill this text with smooth edges. The blue part is the font I'm using and the white part is what I filled, using the paint bucket. You can see some jagged/uneven edges between the white and blue. I have tried different blurs, median at low radius, smart blur and several other things. I have even tried those things on just the blue text before filling with the paint bucket and it still shows up like this.

I want to make flyers for my band. I used to put text onto jpeg images using the Microsoft PAINT program but I want to get better at GIMP.
I really like some of the text(s) I make using the word art function in Micrsoft Excel 2010 but it seems I can't cut and paste them onto the image when using GIMP.
Is there a tutorial on putting text onto an image and making the text glow like a light saber?
I have a black background and want to make a white text which looks like if if was cut out of the black backgroundAny help out there?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a White Circle with a very thick black outline/border. Thick enough to write TEXT.
My exact words:
"Heart of a Lion. Mind of a Panther."
When I **ARC** this text, or any small phrase of it (like "heart of a lion" only), it will never bend the right way to fit into my black circular outline/border.
create block 3D text similar to how its done with Word Art in Microsoft Office products? I need to duplicate some text in that same style. The depth of the text extends back diagonally to the left and up.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was able to do the fire technique and had a great time. What I want to do is kick it up a notch and make a youth sports poster with Fire (just for my kids team). I want to have fire surrounding the kids (big wall of fire in the background) Not really sure how to do it. I know I can follow the directions with the text and take it a bit further, but hoping for a little direction to start. I have a fairly decent working knowledge with Photoshop.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am currently building a website using photoshop and dreamweaver for a uni project. I am using photoshop to produce the images & text which I then export as JPEG's into the layers in dreamweaver. Obviously as these are only JPEG images, none of the individual text is 'live' within the site, and I cant put in hyperlinks etc.
My question is: is there a way of making the images I create 'live' when they are online, so the end user could copy text from the site, or click on a hyperlink? Either with photoshop or with imageready?
Though I have been playing for photoshop for quite a while, I have had no official guidance in the program. I am making a logo for my gaming team, "Why Even Try", or "WET Gaming".
I would like to make the logo either a "wet" question mark, or have it say the actual word "WET" and have it look like water. I have gone through a couple of water droplette tuts, and have applied it to the text, but am not getting the effect I am looking for. I am NOT looking for the "gel" look either.
So, how can I get an effect like this?
Also, how can I make a nice, clear image @ 100 x 56px image? I have gone through the tutorials that apply the actions/recording, but have not gotten nice results.
I am making an 8x10 poster with a very large number "8" in the middle. I want smaller text above and below the number. When I try to click the text tool below the number, it won't permit me to because of the space required below the number.
Â
Can I turn the text number into a shape so that it doesn't have any space requirements around it?
Is it true that we should avoid making text in Ps cause the letters appear pixelated? What do you think about the about view?
