create block 3D text similar to how its done with Word Art in Microsoft Office products? I need to duplicate some text in that same style. The depth of the text extends back diagonally to the left and up.
View 8 RepliesTrying to make a simple dynamic block. Its a pipe with a "cylindrical annoying" hatch that gets distorted when i stretch the object.see pics attached.
My guess is that this problem has something to do with hatch. What options do i have?
Basically 2"x1' standard block which i want to change height only and maybe flip it but thats not an issue .
I was trying to make a block of an elevation, no more than 150 objects and the program had a FATAL ERROR; I tryed again and again and always the same fatality.

Is their a protocol for making a block with visibility states? I have not done this in a long time but I know the procedure for creating the visibility states but for some reason no matter how many times i adjust this one block i cannot get the this attribute definition to stop showing in visibility states.
I have tried doing a show all and hiding this attribute manually over and over again and i cannot get the block to hold the info. it looks right in the block editor but as soon as i insert this block i can see the visibility state is not right. is their a procedure of how i set up a block like this so that the visibility states will work the way i want them too?
I am trying to make a block with text inside in it. I need the text to rotate at 0 no matter what degree I insert the block into my drawing. For example the type of blocks I use are for fire alarm in which need to go onto different sides of the walls so I need a base point in which I can insert the block at but the text to always rotate back at 0.

My problem is that I need to spray radius (i.e. 15', 10') to stay the same, but the head symbol and text to scale with the viewport. So far I've only been able to make the entire block annotive. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a small vba sub wich changes the color and layer of all entities inside a block. It seems to work pretty well for the majority of blocks, but then if I try that on a dynamic block, the definition is correctly altered, but the references aren't updated...
I know for a fact that the definition has been correctly modified because if I type bedit, I can see the definition is modified. Then, in the block editor, if I save the block, the references are correctly updated.
How to force references to update after I made the modifications inside the definition ?
I searched for methods within the VBA Reference and I tried blockRef.Update but it doesn't seem to have any effect.
I'm trying to create and add a block to our standards. A user wanted to make it annotative. Our company hasn't used them much. I think I'm starting to understand them better. It is just a simple HVAC symbol with two attribute definitions. The block I received was a scaled up block for 1/8" - 1'-0". I shrunk it down to normal 1:1 size to match what is would look like on paperspace with 1/8" text. Now to make it annotative.
- Do I add scales to it or leave it as is? The users may need need most of the scale that are defined.
- How do I save scales on the block for them to use?
I want to make flyers for my band. I used to put text onto jpeg images using the Microsoft PAINT program but I want to get better at GIMP.
I really like some of the text(s) I make using the word art function in Micrsoft Excel 2010 but it seems I can't cut and paste them onto the image when using GIMP.

I've got a surface that I want to be semi-tranparent, it seems the only practical solution at the moment is to eXplode it so that layer transparency will affect it. Which is fine, I guess, for the time being (well actually it's not but we don't have much choice with 2013 do we?).
Putting that aside, my issue now is that every time I hover over the exploded block, it does a selection 'preview' which is distracting to say the least. So I want this exploded surface to be unselectable. Is there a way? If I lock the layer, it dims it, which I don't want. If I freeze the layer the exploded surface just disappears.

My boss gave me a drawing to make some changes on a particular block; however, every time I try to insert the block, it always insert the block in Paper Space even though I'm in Model Space.
Is there any way to change that insertion point? I want to insert the block in Model not in PS...
Do you need to use the join command on an object before making it into a dynamic block? I have these stairs I need to scale down to fit my floorplan, but when I place grips on it in order to scale them down, I can only scale of the block while the rest becomes totally distorted.

I am using photoshop to produce the images & text which I then export as JPEG's into the layers in dreamweaver. Obviously as these are only JPEG images, none of the individual text is 'live' within the site, and I cant put in hyperlinks etc.
My question is: is there a way of making the images I create 'live' when they are online, so the end user could copy text from the site, or click on a hyperlink? Either with photoshop or with imageready?
Though I have been playing for photoshop for quite a while, I have had no official guidance in the program. I am making a logo for my gaming team, "Why Even Try", or "WET Gaming".
I would like to make the logo either a "wet" question mark, or have it say the actual word "WET" and have it look like water. I have gone through a couple of water droplette tuts, and have applied it to the text, but am not getting the effect I am looking for. I am NOT looking for the "gel" look either.
So, how can I get an effect like this?
Also, how can I make a nice, clear image @ 100 x 56px image? I have gone through the tutorials that apply the actions/recording, but have not gotten nice results.
I am making an 8x10 poster with a very large number "8" in the middle. I want smaller text above and below the number. When I try to click the text tool below the number, it won't permit me to because of the space required below the number.
Can I turn the text number into a shape so that it doesn't have any space requirements around it?
