I have very little experience in terms of making files for webpages. I have an image, that contains display text and I need to know what the best format for webpages would be? as soon as I make a jpeg, the text turns blurry.
View 9 RepliesI am currently writing a book that will initially be sold as a PDF but may later go on the i Book store, however I don't have a Retina display myself and what is the best practice for making screenshots from a normal display look acceptably sharp on a Retina display?
I have Photoshop along with the iOS simulator that shows how the iPad or iPhone will look if they can be used in some way but I mainly need to get menu items and dialogue boxes from various applications in OS X and Windows looking good on Retina screens. I really don't want to pay out for a Retina display purely for this task that would only take a few hours of work at most.
Is there a faster way to make the downloading of the graphics for the
webpages you create in 6? I am using the one where it slides down to the
left and a Photo comes to the screen and you use the left and right arrows
to navigate.
what i need: to be able to resize all objects on all pages simultaneously.
what i figure: a macro that takes objects off of page 2 and makes a layer 2 on page one. does this exist?
I prepared 32 pages for a magazine. They are all prepared as single pages in Corel Draw X6. Now I would like to check the end result like it would look if I would hold the magazine in my hands. That means that the following pages should be displayed at once on the screen:
1 (cover)
2 + 3 (together)
4 + 5 (together)
...
30 + 31 (together)
32 (back cover)
How can I convert drawings on paperspace into PDFs and DWFs with the correct scale? I measured everything on paperspace and it's right; but if I convert them to PDFs and DWFs everything srinks a little and the scale doesn't match at all. What settings or ways to match the scale into what it's suppose to be to convert it to PDFs and DWFs?

I'm working on one of our standard layouts for a client. Our typical drawing setup is the base drawing file, surrounded by our Xref'ed border. On said border Xref, we have all the information that does not change between drawings (Revision history, address of job site, etc). The only things that change - and, thus, are not on the xref - are the title of each individual sheet and their number; in the case of these objects, they are located on the drawing file itself in the appropriate position. They are, however, the same font as the text in the Xref - "Standard". Or, at least, they're supposed to be.
The text in the base drawing file seems to be a different version of the text from the Xref - a much blockier, sharper-edged version than the Xref text. My first response was "Okay - I'll just copy/paste the text from the border into my base drawing file, and force the existing text to match the properties of the imported text."
This, however, did not work. The imported text automatically assumed the same form as the existing text. Here's a screenshot from the base drawing, illustrating this (The "Mechanical Plan" also exists on the base drawing, and not the Xref):
I copied the existing text from the base drawing (In this case, the "Mechanical Plan") and pasted it directly into the Xref itself, to see what would happen. Apparently, it wants to stay blocky:
In the latter example, I even tried to force the blocky text to assume the properties of the smooth text via MA (Match properties). I specifically need to make the text in the base drawing conform to the style that the text is assuming in the Xref - which is to say "Smooth."
Is it possible to use a textframe on a master page for means of common positioning of texts?
On pages based on this master page, I'd like to put individual text into this frame, or at least the exact location. Then, when I change the position of the textrame on the master page, the position of all textframes of the pages follow suit.
I don't often work with paragraph text, but I'm creating a booklet of about 32 pages. When I paste my text into Draw, it automatically creates as many pages as are necessary to display all of it. But when I change text borders or enlarge the font, it doesn't add any more pages. If I manually add pages, the text doesn't continue to them. All the original text is still there, but the excess is hidden within the border on the last page. I can manually add pages, of course, and cut and paste my text from one page to the next as necessary, but is there a way to automatically continue the text onto new pages?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am working on creating a book layout for print. I opened the .doc file through my Mac text editor and placed in InDesign CC as a text flow. I am working on adding design elements now (after I adjusted the page layout of the text on all the pages) and blank pages keep inserting themselves in weird places (for instance page 7 will suddenly turn into a blank page and my text will move itself down while design elements such as chapter headings will stay in the place where I put them, but then be completely out of place according to where the text is now). I have tried to adjust it every way I can think of--- by moving all of the text up onto the new blank page and re-aligning the chapter headings, by moving the blank pages to the end of the book and deleting them, and of course, by just simply deleting them. (Deleting them just causes the layout to become mis-aligned even worse, and just re-adds the blank page I attempted to delete.)

Every page consists of 2 linked frames of paragraph text and second one is linked to the first one of the next page. When printed, it prints only first two pages as a whole. And the 3-rd and all the others prints only first frame of the page and two rows of the second frame of the page.
Is this my printer (Canon LBP3010) or the CorelDRAW ?
BTW: Paste 16 pages from WORD to Corel X6 takes infinity and crashes. In Corel 9 it takes about a minute for 80 pages!

I was able to do the fire technique and had a great time. What I want to do is kick it up a notch and make a youth sports poster with Fire (just for my kids team). I am using photoshop to produce the images & text which I then export as JPEG's into the layers in dreamweaver. Obviously as these are only JPEG images, none of the individual text is 'live' within the site, and I cant put in hyperlinks etc.

Though I have been playing for photoshop for quite a while, I have had no official guidance in the program. I am making a logo for my gaming team, "Why Even Try", or "WET Gaming".
I would like to make the logo either a "wet" question mark, or have it say the actual word "WET" and have it look like water. I have gone through a couple of water droplette tuts, and have applied it to the text, but am not getting the effect I am looking for. I am NOT looking for the "gel" look either.

I am making an 8x10 poster with a very large number "8" in the middle. I want smaller text above and below the number. When I try to click the text tool below the number, it won't permit me to because of the space required below the number.
