Photoshop :: Making Website Text 'live'
Mar 13, 2006
I am currently building a website using photoshop and dreamweaver for a uni project. I am using photoshop to produce the images & text which I then export as JPEG's into the layers in dreamweaver. Obviously as these are only JPEG images, none of the individual text is 'live' within the site, and I cant put in hyperlinks etc.
My question is: is there a way of making the images I create 'live' when they are online, so the end user could copy text from the site, or click on a hyperlink? Either with photoshop or with imageready?

Right i have created my template etc.
And what i want the site to do is where the content box is for text instead of having to use photoshop to edit what text is in here i want to be able to edit it through notepad or frontpage.
Even when i view the site you can not highlight the text as it appears as an image.

have a design all ready for slicing in Photoshop. How do you make it so that instead of just being a block in the middle of the page it can stretch to 100% of the window's width?

I just learnt to use Adobe Illustrator , the basics anyway. I am able to manipulate the size of the logo to almost scale in Illustrator. However, when I save the logo in JPEG/PNG for the web its always coming out smaller than i would like it to and i cant seem to get it to the size i want.

I am in the process of completing my Photographic website and need to make thumbnail and larger sizes for the the site. The site will have approximately 100 images on it. Clicking the thumbnails will connect to the larger images. How do I make both sizes in PS CS? Perhaps their is a generator that you would recommend for Mac 10.2?

I made a button for my personal website, along with a "header" graphic. Nothing fancy, but I'm wondering how to center text in the middle of a circle I made. For example, I made a circle and want to put a D in it.

I seem to be having a problem with jagged text when trying to design a webpage in PS. I have the resolution set to 72dpi because it is only for the web. However I have noticed that any text I add seems very jagged. I have tried applying smooth, criss etc which seems to fix it a little bit but not as good as it should. One strange thing I did notice was that I had added a text banner to my page which was jagged. Then later on I added another one and it seemed perfect. Im not sure what I did to the second one to make it better than the first lot of text I added.

I'm trying to save a website template. I've made the appropriate slices
to save sections of the canvas as individual images. In its current
state, all the text is saved as an image. Accordingly to make any
changes to the text I need to do all the editing in Photoshop. I would
like to be able to save just the images and have text fields that are
editable in Frontpage or Dreamweaver.
In Dreamweaver tried simply deleting the image splices that contained
text and inserting a text box. When I do so all the other images become
misaligned and my whole webpage is screwed up. I would also like the
text area to be adjusable. Is there any way to make the surrounding
images adjustable to accomodate more lines of text without losing the
alignment of the images?

making an image that has only text and a transparent background. I want to use this as a banner/logo for my website and would like the "text" to sit on top of my site background.
I have tried several things that I know of in PS CC, but when I upload it to my website I get the text siting on a white background, thus my site background does not show through.

I have a fairly good quality image with black text on a white background and I'm trying to trace it using live trace. I want to be able to manipulate it like normal text would allow you to. The font is a serif font and contains some thinner lines, so whenever I live trace it, it comes up quite uneven and all over the place. I've tried tinkering with the settings but nothing I do really seems to make much difference. My question is, are there any specific settings or modes that are best suited for doing traces of text, or any other methods for that matter? I can't recreate the text using a pen tool - it would take way too long!

I'm currently working on a project in which I have a background that has a large text layer above it. What I want to do is create a sort of "dynamic" clipping mask that essentially subtracts the shape of the text from the background yet remains editable as text in case I need to change the word or font.
However every way I've tried so far as been met with the backgrounds instead being constrained inside of the shape of the text...which is NOT what I want.
How can I do this while still having the text able to be edited?

I am trying to do a www logo with transparent text - colour of the text should change accordingly to web site background (image or solid colour).
I do not want to use Magic Wand as it degrade quality of the text.
I've tried to use 2 layers with blend mode set to multiply but it does not work for me if background was transparent (saved as PNG file)

If I the image map I use for my website.....could have copyable text.
For instance.... here is a link to a page on my website...the whole body of the webpage is a png image that I made using gimp and the image map option. The problem is that the text is not copyable...since it is part of the image. Is there a way to keep the format as it is, but make the test copyable as if it were a website made by the regular, HTML programming way?

I'm thinking that I learned this once in a tutorial but is this possible? I know you can use the SAVE FOR WEB and make a link but can you also do something else to just make the text IN the graphic so that it's selectable or still becomes visible to search engines or searches? I made a graphic in Illustrator but really want the text to be selectable on the site still....

I want to make flyers for my band. I used to put text onto jpeg images using the Microsoft PAINT program but I want to get better at GIMP.
I really like some of the text(s) I make using the word art function in Micrsoft Excel 2010 but it seems I can't cut and paste them onto the image when using GIMP.
Is there a tutorial on putting text onto an image and making the text glow like a light saber?

I have a White Circle with a very thick black outline/border. Thick enough to write TEXT.
My exact words:
"Heart of a Lion. Mind of a Panther."
When I **ARC** this text, or any small phrase of it (like "heart of a lion" only), it will never bend the right way to fit into my black circular outline/border.

I was able to do the fire technique and had a great time. What I want to do is kick it up a notch and make a youth sports poster with Fire (just for my kids team). I want to have fire surrounding the kids (big wall of fire in the background) Not really sure how to do it. I know I can follow the directions with the text and take it a bit further, but hoping for a little direction to start. I have a fairly decent working knowledge with Photoshop.

Though I have been playing for photoshop for quite a while, I have had no official guidance in the program. I am making a logo for my gaming team, "Why Even Try", or "WET Gaming".
I would like to make the logo either a "wet" question mark, or have it say the actual word "WET" and have it look like water. I have gone through a couple of water droplette tuts, and have applied it to the text, but am not getting the effect I am looking for. I am NOT looking for the "gel" look either.
So, how can I get an effect like this?
Also, how can I make a nice, clear image @ 100 x 56px image? I have gone through the tutorials that apply the actions/recording, but have not gotten nice results.
