I'm thinking that I learned this once in a tutorial but is this possible? I know you can use the SAVE FOR WEB and make a link but can you also do something else to just make the text IN the graphic so that it's selectable or still becomes visible to search engines or searches? I made a graphic in Illustrator but really want the text to be selectable on the site still....

For instance.... here is a link to a page on my website...the whole body of the webpage is a png image that I made using gimp and the image map option. The problem is that the text is not copyable...since it is part of the image. Is there a way to keep the format as it is, but make the test copyable as if it were a website made by the regular, HTML programming way?
I have a problem publishing a particular file to pdf. The file is one page, with text, 9 small-size (but high-res) photos, and a couple of arrows (ie line with arrow end). Items not on the page are on the Desktop, which is set not to print. I have tried both Page as well as Selection (selecting all the objects on the page). Every time, the pfd doc appears in the requisite folder but is 0KB or 1KB and cannot be opened in a pdf program, and a window called CorelDraw(R) appears saying that CD has to close and that Windows will close it. I have never had this problem before. It is presently only with this particular file/page.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've got a number of multi-line text elements in my document and I want to decorate them with some icons that further describe the content. If I can find a font that contains all the icons I need, it's pretty simple. I just add the glyphs from that font in the normal text flow. Maybe change their colour.
But what if I can't find a font and need to use other graphics sources for the icons? They're not in the text flow and I'd need to align them to the font baseline by hand, and update it whenever I change the text length or font size.
I'm looking for a way to insert a graphic directly in the text flow, much like adding an image inline in MS Word or HTML. Maybe it will be necessary to adjust the graphic size or the vertical alignment a bit, too.
How can I do that in Illustrator CS6/Windows?
After recent update (CC) the feature which was allowing the invisible layers (turned off by "eye" icon) to be not selectable by Move Tool is gone. So when one have a web page design with 300 layers and 3 states in groups and you decide to deactive some of them (make them invisible) you can still select them. So overall it makes imposible to selecet anything. You must do it manualy on the Layers pannel.
See image below - so instead of selecting only visible layers (like in previous versions) now onet is forced to select every possible layers so in most cases all present layers in the file.
I am not new in Photoshop but I never had to do this before and it seams to be less straight forward than I expected.
I have a PSD file containing some graphics and some text. I want to export it in PDF and I want that the text in the PDF can be selectable for an easy copy and paste. Is that possible? All the PDFs I can save contain text as imagine and not as selectable text. How to solve this?
I am using Photoshop CS6 for OSX.
I'm having two related issues. Currently running CS4 on OSX.
1. I've exported my project as a pdf. Some of the text is not selectable at all. That is, the cursor won't even highlight the text in the pdf file.
2. Some of the text that is selectable when copied and pasted to another document gives me all sorts of crazy looking characters (none of which I recognize.
I can't believe this is still an issue in CS6. When you have multiple text layers stacked near or in between each other, its impossible to lock the layer so that it can no longer be selected. Even if the layer is locked, the TYPE tool is still able to select it. This makes its a super pain in the tail to edit text near each other. Is there a way to make the text layers lock and NOT be selectable?
Instead of locking a layer and not being able to select it with the type tool, a pop-up telling us that its locked come up?
I have an imported svg file that I've saved to Illustrator 17.1. I can't seem to change the layer colors (they're all the same light blue) - the only options that come up in the Layer Options dialog are checkboxes for Lock and Show. Oddly, duplicating a layer seems to give the new layer a different color, but again I can't set the color of that layer myself.
Really want to be able to do this, as I use layer colors to track their status (red = not even close to done, yellow = in progress, green = done in MY eyes, blue = done in the CUSTOMER's eyes).
I have five PSDs I want to make into one 5-page PDF.
I want the text to stay vector/selectable in the PDF (and not rasterized during the conversion process). Is there any way to do this?
When trying to change the stoke alignment on an object, even with the options available to clicked on, I am unable to.
The panel looks like this but when I click on any other alignment It reselects "align stroke to center"
When I purge a drawing, the text styles are not a selectable option (as if there are no purgeable text styles). if i use (-purge), it will purge the unused text styles. I can also go into the Styles dialog box and delete the styles. It happens in all drawings and nobody else in the dept has the problem. I can't find any settings that would exclude any items from the purge dialog box as well. Autocad 2012? windows 7 64 bit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOk I'm new to both photoshop and making a website, but I'm diving into both I know most standard websites have 3 columns to them, the main center website and then the side bars of color/design. The side bars are what I'm trying to figure out. The main background color of my website is going to be black, so I would like to have a dark grey side bars but then also wanted to layer 3 different images over the grey, in diagnol rows, parallel with each other, but almost kind of ghosted themselves... Does that make sense? How do I take a picture, and turn it ghosted/transparent almost so that they will show just ever so slightly on the dark grey side bars? Thanks.

In a layout for an ebook I have some important black and white bitmap illustrations in tiff., 300 dpi. These have appeared ok on print, but on screen, reading the same pdf-file, they're unacceptable, especially some texts in fontsize 5-6 pt are unclear. I have to convert the drawings, or at least the texts, to vector graphics. Can I open these tiff.s in Photoshop, change only the texts to vector graphics and then save in a format, that can be inserted in the Word2010 layout?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf you could modify attached background image so it would be more suitable for a repeating background image for a website? I have been already trying to do that by myself for hours (duplicating layers, flipping them horizontally/vertically, offset...), but how to realize that well. The main problem is that gradients and textures on borders are way to rough and it is really noticeable when so small background gets repeated for many times. On top of that, corners have dark shadows which make everything even more noticeable. Please note that attached image should be resized for about 3 times, I'm just posting original image which I have to work with.

I make the logo full size and shrink it then save for web but when I import to the site program and publish the site the logo looks ragged.
the logo in question is the top right side image at [URL] .....
I have tried lots of different design ways but still looks crummy.

do table backgrounds stretch? or do they repeat? is the guy using a diffirent background image for each page on hes site? Also another thing is that hes using the same image in the middle table on the left? or is that just the same image but stretched with a diffirent filename?
