I'm having two related issues. Currently running CS4 on OSX.
1. I've exported my project as a pdf. Some of the text is not selectable at all. That is, the cursor won't even highlight the text in the pdf file.
2. Some of the text that is selectable when copied and pasted to another document gives me all sorts of crazy looking characters (none of which I recognize.
I have five PSDs I want to make into one 5-page PDF.
I want the text to stay vector/selectable in the PDF (and not rasterized during the conversion process). Is there any way to do this?
I am not new in Photoshop but I never had to do this before and it seams to be less straight forward than I expected.
I have a PSD file containing some graphics and some text. I want to export it in PDF and I want that the text in the PDF can be selectable for an easy copy and paste. Is that possible? All the PDFs I can save contain text as imagine and not as selectable text. How to solve this?

I can't believe this is still an issue in CS6. When you have multiple text layers stacked near or in between each other, its impossible to lock the layer so that it can no longer be selected. Even if the layer is locked, the TYPE tool is still able to select it. This makes its a super pain in the tail to edit text near each other. Is there a way to make the text layers lock and NOT be selectable?
Instead of locking a layer and not being able to select it with the type tool, a pop-up telling us that its locked come up?
I'm thinking that I learned this once in a tutorial but is this possible? I know you can use the SAVE FOR WEB and make a link but can you also do something else to just make the text IN the graphic so that it's selectable or still becomes visible to search engines or searches? I made a graphic in Illustrator but really want the text to be selectable on the site still....
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen I purge a drawing, the text styles are not a selectable option (as if there are no purgeable text styles). if i use (-purge), it will purge the unused text styles. I can also go into the Styles dialog box and delete the styles. It happens in all drawings and nobody else in the dept has the problem. I can't find any settings that would exclude any items from the purge dialog box as well. Autocad 2012? windows 7 64 bit.

I created 61, 9 layer composites that are text only, but I can not figure out how to export it with the alphas for use in keying in Final cut. I exported as Targas, psd's and eps's but nothing give me the alpha and I end up with a flat image that I can only to an add key with in Final Cut...this loses all of my shadows and glows, etc......

I don't get it: my old CS2 has PS with texture filter that actually is there, while my PS5 app shows an unselectable "texture" in filters. WHAT IS WITH THAT? I feel ripped - off now that I need to use it in this project.

So far I've come across guides that show the method of using Object > Slice and the Attributes' Image Map, but none of them seem to work when I open my exported .pdf.

I use a lot the "Automate -> PDF Presentation", in Photoshop CS6 (english language) feature, but in the last months, something really weird is happening.When I export a file, some parts of the text disappears, like is being corrupted by something.
My pc specs: win7 x64 - portuguese language
Photoshop CC Extensions menu is greyed out. I cannot select event that menu.
The extensions installed successfully in Extension Manager CC, no errors. I even tried uninstalling and trying just 1... no dice. I've reinstalled Extension Manager CC without success as well.
A few of those extensions are scripts and those are available through the File > Scripts just fine, but the Extensions are not. I have no issue at home using them, but here on my work computer I cannot access them at all.
In Photoshop CC, I cannot even click on the Extensions menu, not even the Exchange is available which is built in:
I uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop CC and reinstalled the plugins and I still have the same issue. No error messages, it's just not selectable.
After recent update (CC) the feature which was allowing the invisible layers (turned off by "eye" icon) to be not selectable by Move Tool is gone. So when one have a web page design with 300 layers and 3 states in groups and you decide to deactive some of them (make them invisible) you can still select them. So overall it makes imposible to selecet anything. You must do it manualy on the Layers pannel.
See image below - so instead of selecting only visible layers (like in previous versions) now onet is forced to select every possible layers so in most cases all present layers in the file.
I'm trying to set the scale of my picture in CS6 but everytime I got to analysis -- set measurement scale I can't select it! I need it to make scale bars on my fluorescent pics so I can finish my thesis. I have CS6 (64x) from creative suite 6 design standard that I got from my school. The picture is .tiff file 24 bit
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I usually work with corel, I export my files in .png when I finished working so that I can use them in Power Point or whatever. It was never a problem and still works with most of my files, but I have now one file that simply doesn't want to be converted.
I export it like usual (--> export --> .png) but than in the preview it shows me nothing but an empty bar-like part of the file, so basically nothing. The .png file that is created it empty.

I would like to export the attributes from each drawing file in my (project folder) from the title-blocks (drawing numbers and descriptions) into excel and then be able to just data link that into my Index table in AutoCAD. I know i could put the info in excel and import it into my table in CAD but i am looking for something more Automatic, so that every time i need to create an index it will automatically extract the info from the drawing files title-blocks.
I thought I had this figured out but it appears to occur somewhat randomly. Since upgrading to Windows 8 when I export files that I have imported from Canon raw .CR2 for some files it gives an error that "the file could not be written" and lists the original source .CR2 file name. It does not do it everytime but once it happens it happens everytime for that file. When exporting 10 JPG files for example only 3 of them may have this issue. The file still exports and creates the JPG file and the only issue with the exported file appears to be that it did not create the preview thumbnail.
I have tried importing the files into new catalogs, writing to different folders etc but it still happens.
When exporting from lightroom this message came up: Could not create a JPEG that met your limit of 500K bytes. (1) I have tried making the size smaller, but nothing seems to work. I have never seen this message before.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I want to cut an item out of an image, I create a mask on the image's layer and paint out everything except the item I want to keep. Something has changed and I can no longer select that remaining item in the layer after I've applied the layer mask and essentially painted out everything else.
For instance if I wanted an apple cut out of a tree, I would paint everything in black except that apple, which remains white in the mask. After applying the mask to the layer, I should be able to click in the empty space around the apple wtih my magic wand tool and have it make a perfect selection around that apple, yet the magic wand tool is still picking up the leaves, branches, etc. Even though I've painted them out and applied the mask, essentially deleting them, and all I can see is the grey and white checkerboard grid behind the apple.
This is Photoshop CS6 and it was working fine before. Did I change something without realizing it?
I'm wanting to create transparent text over a picture with only the outline of the text showing. So basically, I need to only see the stroke of the text and have be picture show thru from behind.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI export simple text to .ai file format for my vinyl cutter to cut names. However, after importing into vinyl cutting program, the letters are split. The 'o', 'a' and 'e' all have a vertical line through them. However, when I export from X3, there is no issue.
I have checked export settings, converted to curves etc, but nothing works. why this occurs on X5 and not X3.
I permit to come for a new question that concerns the exporting solution in Xara (I have Designer Pro version) in PDF/X mode.
I have some work to do (in Xara as it is my favorite tool), and have to export it 100% correctly in PDF mode for external collaborators, for allowing them to open it and use it in Illustrator software (that's for webdesign : I made the template and external people must be able to use them, in illustrator - or photoshop, it depends).But I get strange results with the texts, with the advanced PDF/X export solution of Xara (the rest is ok).
I can't get a text that can be simply editable when opening illustrator soft. Instead of a rich text editable, in an entire paragraph, I get :
- a "word by word" or "sentence by sentence" editable text. <- that's the best case, but happened only with very simple files, with only few words in it
- a "letter by letter" editable text <- that's unfortunately the more frequent case. If there is a little "too much text" (?!), is works like this.
I send 2 files of examples I made. One simple (with texts, shapes,...), another a very few more complex : just longer texts (only 2). And then the "non editable text" appears : you can select only the letters, not words or better : paragraphs.I put the 2 xara files, and the 2 pdf/X exported files. (I precise the option "convert text into files" is, of course, not effective).
I have been using Corel for a few years now, and have achieved amazing results with corel and 4 color litho printing... HOWEVER now I am dabbling on the internet, and run a site

I am trying to export a manually generated material list (not an AutoCAD "table") to an Excel spreadsheet or a .csv file. I've tried selecting the text and right clicking, but there is no export option. I've also tried selecting the text and going directly to Export, but I see no option to save it as a .csv.
