I made a button for my personal website, along with a "header" graphic. Nothing fancy, but I'm wondering how to center text in the middle of a circle I made. For example, I made a circle and want to put a D in it.

As you can see the button is extruding out of the image. What I want to do is wen you click the link that the button will pushed down, or embossed if you will. Im not sure anymore how to make this effect. I dont think the emboss filter or blending options can create an effect like this but if any of you have any idea how to create this effect (of the button being pushed down when you click the link) ...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently building a website using photoshop and dreamweaver for a uni project. I am using photoshop to produce the images & text which I then export as JPEG's into the layers in dreamweaver. Obviously as these are only JPEG images, none of the individual text is 'live' within the site, and I cant put in hyperlinks etc.
My question is: is there a way of making the images I create 'live' when they are online, so the end user could copy text from the site, or click on a hyperlink? Either with photoshop or with imageready?
I seem to be having a problem with jagged text when trying to design a webpage in PS. I have the resolution set to 72dpi because it is only for the web. However I have noticed that any text I add seems very jagged. I have tried applying smooth, criss etc which seems to fix it a little bit but not as good as it should. One strange thing I did notice was that I had added a text banner to my page which was jagged. Then later on I added another one and it seemed perfect. Im not sure what I did to the second one to make it better than the first lot of text I added.

to save sections of the canvas as individual images. In its current
state, all the text is saved as an image. Accordingly to make any
changes to the text I need to do all the editing in Photoshop. I would
like to be able to save just the images and have text fields that are
editable in Frontpage or Dreamweaver.
In Dreamweaver tried simply deleting the image splices that contained
text and inserting a text box. When I do so all the other images become
misaligned and my whole webpage is screwed up. I would also like the
text area to be adjusable. Is there any way to make the surrounding
images adjustable to accomodate more lines of text without losing the
alignment of the images?
making an image that has only text and a transparent background. I want to use this as a banner/logo for my website and would like the "text" to sit on top of my site background.
I have tried several things that I know of in PS CC, but when I upload it to my website I get the text siting on a white background, thus my site background does not show through.
I have like nearly a hundred generic buttons I need to make. The size of the button is the same only the centered text needs to be changed for each. It seems silly to have to copy/paste/output them from my text file one by one. I did some Google hunting but don't think im using the right keywords to find what im looking for. I am trying to make an active button using the Create-Buttons-Round Button Script Fu menu item. I then select the colours I want, select Active and Pressed, and then hit create. The buttons look perfect, except for one thing ..I need the buttons without the Text. But if I enter no text in the text box when creating the button, I get this error:

I have an Ergodex DX1 keyboard and I'm wanting to document the layout of the keys for the various games I use it with. So, I need to generate up to 50 buttons with labels and then move and rotate them into position for each game. I would like to put the key number really small in one corner, the keyboard key assigned to it, small, in another corner, and then the then the function within the game, larger, and close to the center.
I've built blanks for the buttons, with space for those three pieces of information. But getting the text lined up time after time is a bit tedious.What is the easiest process for placing text consistently when dealing with dozens of buttons?
I envision something similar to a macro, that loads the blank and then positions the text tool for the first field, with some way to trigger the jump to the next field. I suppose a macro for each field would be simple enough.

If I the image map I use for my website.....could have copyable text.
For instance.... here is a link to a page on my website...the whole body of the webpage is a png image that I made using gimp and the image map option. The problem is that the text is not copyable...since it is part of the image. Is there a way to keep the format as it is, but make the test copyable as if it were a website made by the regular, HTML programming way?
I'm thinking that I learned this once in a tutorial but is this possible? I know you can use the SAVE FOR WEB and make a link but can you also do something else to just make the text IN the graphic so that it's selectable or still becomes visible to search engines or searches? I made a graphic in Illustrator but really want the text to be selectable on the site still....

I have lately been having some issues with text in Architecture 2009. I first noticed that within Mtext, when you hit the "UPPERCASE" or "lowercase" buttons, the text disappears in the editor, and no changes are made. Not the end of the world, but not handy.
Then it stopped letting me type in Mtext boxes at all. The return key seemed to work, but nothing else. Then it started converting text typed into Mtext boxes into (I think) Chinese characters. Really not handy. At this point I decided to try to reinstall. First I tried a repair, then reinstalled over the existing installation, then uninstalled completely and reinstalled from the disk. I've also done a windows restore, though as this has slowly been falling apart, I'm not sure when I should restore back to.
I have Mtext basic functionality back, but the "UPPERCASE" and "lowercase" buttons still make the text disappear.
Not sure if it's related, but I also get a Fatal Error e06d7363h at 758bd36fh about 4 or 5 times a day. Usually it's associated with the open command (ctrl+o), but sometimes it just happens at random.
how to place a 2 line text under a custom button.I tried to mimic some of the std button but it didn't work.
Attachment 1 is the std Tool Palette and User Interface buttons in the Manage Panels.
You can notice that the name is User Interface on the left and UserInterface on the right.
Attachment 2 is my button, on the left I CANNOT edit the name and on the right any changes automatically edit the left name.
At the end I would like my button the appears with one line: Extract and under Maint.
I have web design premium CS3, and I just started experimenting with making my websites in Photoshop. In the meantime, I have been experimenting with Flash and love it. My question is, if i build a webpage in photoshop, how do I add my flash file to it? I tried the photoshop help section of photoshop itself and there are tons of different types of files it says I can work with, but I still havent found a way to add a flash file to my PSD web document.

I am trying to make buttons for a site redesign project for class. I figured out how to make the layer, put the name (eg. Home, About Us, etc) and do drop shadows, bevel etc. The problem is when I do that it only makes these changes over the text. I cannot figure out how to make a box around the text, and make that box a button. It is frustrating. I have tried so many different things.
I need create 2 buttons on bitmap image, both in the bottom, aligned horizontally. It will be hotspot areas, and work as action buttons in autorun. Then i need to determine the X,Y coordinates of the upper left hand corner, the Width, and the Height of each hotspot area in the bitmap. The image area where buttons will be placed is white(transparent), so i want just image style buttons - integrated into the background image, or windows style buttons. Ok I am having trouble following the tutorial below for glass buttons. So I googled "photoshop glass buttons" and found this tutorial Now I completed it fine and I think it is amazing. But I am wanting to make rectangle buttons. I have tried 6 other tutorials and followed them word for word and none of the buttons came out right. So I attempted to do the one I pasted above but using rectangle marquee tool. Except when I fill the space it doesnt have a solid edge around.
I was wondering if anyone could simplify or possibly show me a good tutorial for making rectangle glass effect buttons that definatley works.
I have a series of images in a folder on my PC. I'd like to use CS5 to automatically generate a web page to display these images. This used to be easy with older versions of PS. In fact PS provided several format options for the resulting web page. I can't find this capability in CS5? What happened?

I notice i can use the slice tool, or slice from layers etc.
What about place holders i have left for "pure" text which of course i will enter in my html editor? But i should imagine i want it to export with the text place holder in the html file otherwise the html with the graphics are not going to line up?
Also i have created a box with rounded corners, i presume i should only be exporting the four corners and using some trickery to lower file size..
