AutoCAD Architecture :: Cannot Type In Mtext Boxes - UPPERCASE / Lowercase Buttons Make Text Disappear

Architecture 2009 running on Windows 7. Â Dell Precision T5400 with a Quadro FX570 graphics card.
I have lately been having some issues with text in Architecture 2009. I first noticed that within Mtext, when you hit the "UPPERCASE" or "lowercase" buttons, the text disappears in the editor, and no changes are made. Â Not the end of the world, but not handy.
Then it stopped letting me type in Mtext boxes at all. The return key seemed to work, but nothing else. Then it started converting text typed into Mtext boxes into (I think) Chinese characters. Really not handy. At this point I decided to try to reinstall. First I tried a repair, then reinstalled over the existing installation, then uninstalled completely and reinstalled from the disk. Â I've also done a windows restore, though as this has slowly been falling apart, I'm not sure when I should restore back to.
I have Mtext basic functionality back, but the "UPPERCASE" and "lowercase" buttons still make the text disappear.
Not sure if it's related, but I also get a Fatal Error e06d7363h at 758bd36fh about 4 or 5 times a day. Â Usually it's associated with the open command (ctrl+o), but sometimes it just happens at random.
When the user clicks on two button on the stage I need an eleiment to disapear.  for example:-  If one of the buttons is pressed... nothing should happen.
Then when the other button is pressed then an element disapears.
(The user needs to be able to press the buttons in any order) Â I have been usine verables to try and work this out. How I understand it is that I sould be able to store the verable on the stage and recall it. Â This is where I have the problem. I have not pasted the stage code because it just does not work. But below is the code for one of the Symbol Button.I had set all the "Var" to "0" at the stage but can not change all recall them. Autocad Architecture 2012 crashed during hatch. Upon recovery, all my text was replaced with boxes. I suspect there is a system variable which was changed as part of the recovery process, but I can't find it.
I am using Photoshop CS and when using the type tool all of my letters are using uppercase letters. Does anyone know how I could use uppercase and lower case? I know it is pretty simple, but I just haven’t figured it out yet.
I have a detail section of millwork ... and some of the text is bold and some are not. But the weird thing is that all the text is from the same style, none of the text is bold and they are all the same size. So why are some bold and some not? See attached, running Autocad Architecture 2011 on XP 64.
I have a workstation which has Express Tools installed and working properly, except the 'convert text to mtext' command does not appear to be working. The other Express Tools commands are working properly.
Is there a way to set the default text size when using mtext with an annotative text style?
I have an annotative text style I use for everything. I have the height set to 0 in the style. In MTEXT the height always defaults to 1/4" which I never use. Is there a way to make it default to 1/8" text? It is annoying to have to have to change it every single time I use mtext.
The height is usually the paper text height but sometimes within a viewport the height is the model space height instead of the paper height. I don't know why it is different in some viewports but I would like to have it consistant.
I have got a drawing that contains lots of text. The problem is that i need to turn them into UpperCase text and there are heaps of them. It'd be time consuming if i do it one by one. wonder if there're any easier way of doing this?
I'm trying to edit MTEXT boxes that I've created and when I begin the edit (delete/add text, change font size, etc.) the text box disappears until I click "OK" essentially making me do my edits blindly. Â After I click OK and return to model or paper space, the text box reappears and my edit has been made.
When entering text in Photoshop 7 [on Windows XP Pro] I cannot get the text to be input in lowercase. All letters are always UPPERCASE no matter whether I type with the caps lock on or off. Is this normal behaviour? I've tried to find a setting to check or uncheck for this, but cannot.
I use Mtext quite a bit and I am trying to convince others in the office that it's a good thing (versus single line text in long paragraphs). Â One of their concerns in the shape of the Mtext. Â For instance, when you use Mtext, you type into a nice rectangle that you can change the size of. Â What they have to do on occassion is instead of having a nice rectangle of text, they have to make it like a triangle. Â So in this case, single line text can be adjusted so that the end of the sentences make an angle. Â
Is there a way to do this using mtext? Â Or is there an lsp that will work?
I have multiple singular text objects on my screen and I want to convert them to mtext so I can use the Background Mask option within mtext on my drawing. how to quickly select all the text and convert it to mtext without it combinin ginto 1 mtext?
in CS6 in Windows 7, my text tool only types in uppercase no matter what font I choose. it was working perfectly up until a few weeks ago. Pressing caps ON or caps OFF makes no difference.Â
my buttons in my custom shelf disappears when I restart maya. maya has admin privileges and the prefs folder in my documents is not read only and my user account has the privilege to access/write this folder. I'v tried renaming my prefs folder so that maya creates a new pref folder when it starts. that way the shelf works but in that way my other settings are lost.
In 2008, one could create some Mtext using a type font named ISOCPEUR and type of line of text. One could then go to the Express Tools/text/explode text function. That would explode the text and one could then manipulate it so that one had a bunch of letters that were polylines. One could then extrude the polylines and either add or subtract them from a solid and create either recessed or proud lettering on a part. That meant you could mark a casting or a molded part just like in the real world.
But in the fully advanced, super dooper, state-of-the-art, fantasmagorical (sp) AutoCAD 2013, if one goes to Express Tools and selects the explode function, the command TXTEXP is not recognized as a valid command.
When dividing, say, an arc into 4 equal parts. The point showing up on the object are so small, I can't see them! How can I change the tiny dot to a "x" or "=" or anything that I read?
In AutoCad (I am working with ACA 2012) there are several dialog boxes e.g. the "rename" dialog box that always show up in the same (too small) size.
After renaming e.g. a block, the window closes and I have to repeat the command to rename another item.
I would like to size the window and keep the setting and would like to keep renaming things without getting interupted by automatical closeups of the window.
I have an eye problem Macular Dystrophy) that requires the CUI Menus and dialog boxes to be made larger. Changing the customizing windows fonts do not increase the size of anything. I am still using AutoCAD 14 through virtual XP but want to use Autodad 2011 and can't get it to change so I can read the CUI.
I though maybe this was a 2010 issue, but here I am in a brand new 2012 setup and experiencing the same problem. For some reason, my toolpalettes disappear on startup and sometimes when switching between projects. I have my workspace saved with the following anchored to the left side of the screen: Properties, External References, Layer manager, Project Navigator
Design Center, and Toolpalettes. When I close Acad (or it closes itself) and restart, sometimes the tool palettes are there and sometimes not. All of the other palettes are there save that one. They also have a habit of reordering themselves if you pin one open and the minimize it it drops to the bottom of the page. Very annoying when you think your PN is at the top, and it isn't, but i digress.
I am working with Windows 7, 64bit, dual screens. This happens with equal frequency in both 10 and 12. (Working in 12 to develop rollout for office and working out kinks. No I do not run them both at the same time.)
One more clue, I noticed in the command history that TOOLPALETTESÂ loads and is followed imediatly by _ToolPalettes.
Soms of the objects in my 3D view "disappear" when clicking on it. The edges are still visible while the rest of the objects get invisible. This is only the case for some objects in my 3D view. I have no problem with the visibility of the objects in the structural plans or elsewhere. How can I make all objects visible in 3D again when clicking on them?Â
How do you get MTEXT columns to go from left to right?  The default is left to right.  When the mtext gets to the column limit it creates another column to the right.  I want the column to be on the left.  I've done this 'before and I thought the variable was available in the properties bar but I can't find how to do this anymore.
The bottom of a diagonally stacked fraction in Mtext aligns to the baseline of the string, which pushes the number with a fraction upward, which looks bad- see attached. Can this be corrected?
I have just got done revising a business card that I have printed in the past. The Card was created in Photoshop Cs5. The strange issue is now when I attempt to make it into a pdf so I can combine it with the second side I am partially loosing some of the fills in the text. Here is a copy of the psd
Here is what the pdf looks like notice the missing red in vinyl and in the k of tick.This is what the settings are in the save as menu. The other odd thing is it looks ok if you view the pdf in photoshop but if you view it in Acrobat x professional it starts to lose it's fills.
