View 3 RepliesI have Photoshop CS and I am not sure how to create a rectangular box (in the corner of a photo) with a black border of about 3px, and the inside of the box should be colored in an orange-yellow gradient.
Then I want to create another rectangular box (in a different corner of the same photo), again with a black border of about 3px, and the inside of the box should be a straight white.
I have tried it using the rectangular marquee tool and then going to Edit | Stroke (3 px), but the border itself is colored orange/yellow. I click the gradient tool and that part seems OK, but I end up with an orange/yellow gradient framed by a yellow border - and not a black one.
I have this cirlce that I have filled with a radial gradient fill that I would like to place an image inside of. The problem is when I put the image in there the background of the image is white so the gradient does not show through...how do I fix this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to create a gradient similar to radial gradient, except that the shape is other than circular? This image would be the starting point, but I would like the white part fading to black to be another shape (say, a rectangle, a banana, etc.).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing problems with the Gradient editor since I got PS and the problem is that whenever I create a gradient through the gradient editor and then load it, it does load it and instead just duplicates the ones that already exist.
I save all gradients at:
C:UsersRHAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6PresetsGradients
However it does (mostly) work when I import pre-made (from web) Gradients.
I don't know why this happens but it also did the same thing when I had CS5.5!
I have the banner image attached and at: www_dot_1stopbeverage_dot_net
There is two pieces of the image that were never colored in (one looks like an onion and one an olive) that are in the skewer that is laying along the top of the glasses.
I cannot get these colored right. Have tried paint brush and others, but the edges will not take to color.
I saw a very simple process for filling text with an image. Only two or three steps; involved a 'mask'.

The black lines would be the pen paths (curved shapes) with a brush stroke, but then I would like to select an area of all those pen paths lines (like you for example do when using marquee tool) (in the example green color) and fill the path lines with for example green only on that selected area and the rest stays black in this case and only the lines would be filled, so not the white space between. I kind of did it in Illustrator using scissor tool, but cutting all the paths takes a lot of time and precision so I thought there might be a better, easier, more precise way to do this in photoshop. how to accomplish something like that?
The Pen Tool is my favorite / go to selection tool. But can it do the following...I've made a path and converted it to a selection, then filled the area with a color or texture (on it's own layer).
Now I find that I need to adjust (fine tune) the shape I've created / filled with color or texture to better fit how / where it's being used. Is is possible to invoke the path handles and get it to adjust the filled area as you move / adjust the path. (This is not a shape, not using the shape tool.)
I can select the filled path / layer and free transform but that does not give me a fine enough adjustment.Puppet Warp doesn't really fit the bill eitherA good example of what I want to achieve is similar to when you put type on a path. When you adjust the path the type moves to conform to the changes in the path. I want to do the same thing with the area I filled using the path.
When using the brush tool (and others) in Elements, I am finding that when I paint only the center of the curser is filled with color. How do I adjust the brush and or curser to fill the entire area right up to the edge of the selection? I recently upgraded from Elements 10 to 12.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhile I have been using PSP for many years (but currently using version 9), I don't get into major editing of shapes and text effects. So, not having a graphic design education, I get very annoyed when I can't figure out how to do certain very simple things.
Right now, all I want to do is draw a beige box on a green background. But I don't want a filled in box, I want an outlined box. Beige lines, if you will. Not sure how to describe it other than it should be a box drawn in beige. But all I am getting is a solid filled beige box, not a nice "outlined" box. I'm looking at the book that came with the software, and still can't figure it out. It should be a very simple thing to do.
I have shape with a 'single tile' bitmap fill and the bitmap is smaller than the shape (which is what I need) but I want the fill of the shape not taken up with the bitmap to be white, however this is defaulting to transparent. I've gotten around this by cloning the shape, setting the fill to flat white and placing it behind the original (bitmap filled) shape. This works fine but is there a way to do this without resorting to this second copy?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to color fill between contour lines. Most of the plug-ins I have tried only color the actual contour lines. Some of the large stand-alone packages say that they do it, however most are beyond my maker financial reach.
So my queries are: can this be done within any AutoCAD package? Are there any known plug-ins that can do this?
Or will I have to commission a customized plug-in. The image below is an example of the color fill required.

I've noticed that when I use the color picker and then go to the color selection menu, sometimes the color shows up in the color history as only filling the upper left diagonal of the box and the lower right diagonal appears to be transparent.
why this happens and whether I can/should convert the color to filling the entire history box?
