When using the brush tool (and others) in Elements, I am finding that when I paint only the center of the curser is filled with color. How do I adjust the brush and or curser to fill the entire area right up to the edge of the selection? I recently upgraded from Elements 10 to 12.
View 8 RepliesI've noticed that when I use the color picker and then go to the color selection menu, sometimes the color shows up in the color history as only filling the upper left diagonal of the box and the lower right diagonal appears to be transparent.
why this happens and whether I can/should convert the color to filling the entire history box?
My cursor will not show the brush size any longer and making changes to my preferences seems to have no effect.

After several minutes installing I get the messgae: Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update.Patch cannot be applied. Please contact product support. But there dioes not appear to be any address to contact support. The cursor on my tools is a blurr of severl + signs and other nondiscript items.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsually the tool cursor is a circle the size the tool is set to, that is, it will be 60 pixels in diameter when the tool size is set to 60 pixels. Sometimes, the tool cursor changes to a gun sight-like icon. I have no idea what I'm doing to cause that, but I'd like to know in order to 1) stop doing it, and 2) maintain my sanity.

The black lines would be the pen paths (curved shapes) with a brush stroke, but then I would like to select an area of all those pen paths lines (like you for example do when using marquee tool) (in the example green color) and fill the path lines with for example green only on that selected area and the rest stays black in this case and only the lines would be filled, so not the white space between. I kind of did it in Illustrator using scissor tool, but cutting all the paths takes a lot of time and precision so I thought there might be a better, easier, more precise way to do this in photoshop. how to accomplish something like that?
The brush tool shape changes when zooming into an image. Instead of the normal circle to indicate the area that will be affected by the brush, it turns into a large curved X, or a large half moon. Sometimes there are two, three or four horizontal ovals (instead of one circle) going across my image. When I continue to zoom in further, it returns to a circle. Caps Lock and is off. I discovered that when this happens, if I press the CTRL key, it returns to a circle

I am editing pictures, and makes use of the Brush Tool, so the area around the object is white or very light in clolour. It was working fine before, but stopped workign all of a sudden. Well, this is not the case since I did define it with command Alt + left mouse click.
Background:Photo Elements 7 is installed in Windows XP Professional SP3. The latter runs as a virtual O/S with Sun VirtualBox on host SuSE Linux 11.1 (Gnome).
I have loaded the office copy of Photoshop elements on my computer. It is only being used on one computer. I have tried to log in with my password but when they send the email and I follow the link it can't log me in. I also find the Spot healing Brush tool doesn't work. I have a Windows 7 64 bit.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe Pen Tool is my favorite / go to selection tool. But can it do the following...I've made a path and converted it to a selection, then filled the area with a color or texture (on it's own layer).
Now I find that I need to adjust (fine tune) the shape I've created / filled with color or texture to better fit how / where it's being used. Is is possible to invoke the path handles and get it to adjust the filled area as you move / adjust the path. (This is not a shape, not using the shape tool.)
I can select the filled path / layer and free transform but that does not give me a fine enough adjustment.Puppet Warp doesn't really fit the bill eitherA good example of what I want to achieve is similar to when you put type on a path. When you adjust the path the type moves to conform to the changes in the path. I want to do the same thing with the area I filled using the path.
When I have a none vector tool active for example the brush tool and I press and hold the Ctrl key down I see the cursor change from the current tool to the move tool cursor. If I presses and hold the Alt key I see the cursor change from the current tool to the eyedropper tool. If I press and hold both the Ctrl+Alt keys a see a cursor icon change to an icon that has two up pointing Arrow heads one Black the other White. What tool is that cursor for? It seems to copy and move the current layer and move its position over the canvas.

When I retouch skins with the clone brush and I have to draw on medium tones with a small brush I easily lose the visibility of the cursor.
Over dark and bright tones the contrast of the cursor with the skin is high and i don't have problems.I tried to change the cursor's preferences but it didn't work, so i ask if there are some tricks like this:
change the threshold of switching black/white cursor to a brighter value, i think it switches near 50% of color Brightness, if i could change that value near 30% my problem is over.
looking at the aspect of the cursor i see that is built with a white dominant and a black outline and viceversa black dominant and white outline, it could be a 3 lines profile?
I am seeing a double brush cursor in CS5; why? and how do I get rid of it?
It's not the clone tool, it's the brush.When I resize my brush to a certain size (different sizes for different images) a duplicate brush suddenly appears in the top left corner of my screen and resizes with the brush as I resize it up and down.
Also, if I zoom into my image, suddenly the duplicate brush will appear in the top left of my screen with the same behaviour.Different images behave differently but it appears to be once I get to a certain size on any image this duplicate brush cursor appears top left of screen and makes it very difficult for me to access menu and tool options.
I recently discovered why I've been having trouble with precise drawing with my tablet, I keep losing track of the brush cursor, that circle is just too small, same for "precise" brush cursor (cross). I tried the standard brush cursor and it was much better but it lacked precision of telling where the stroke will start.
Is there any way to customize the brush cursor, ie. add a mouse pointer/brush icon to that small circle like it's in PaintTools SAI?
I recently installed Photoshop CS4 and find the brush cursor faulty. Only a portion of the cursor shows up. With a small brush most of the cursor shows. With a large brush only a small segment in the upper left shows. Anybody else have this problem? Anybody have a solution?
