Photoshop :: Gradient Editor Doesn't Load Gradient In CS6

Jul 9, 2012

I've been experiencing problems with the Gradient editor since I got PS and the problem is that whenever I create a gradient through the gradient editor and then load it, it does load it and instead just duplicates the ones that already exist.

I save all gradients at:

C:UsersRHAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6PresetsGradients

However it does (mostly) work when I import pre-made (from web) Gradients.

I don't know why this happens but it also did the same thing when I had CS5.5!

Photoshop :: Gradient Editor Doesn't Like Me.

Dec 14, 2008

I have PS CS4, and vista home premium. I am playing around with the Gradient Map, and everything is fine except for one thing. I know I must be doing something wrong but I can't put my finger on it. In the Editor, when I create a gradient with some transparency, the transparent bit never transfers itself to my image.

I have tried using the opacity stops to set opacity to zero, and the gradient bar is almost totally transparent, yet this has no effect whatsoever on either the image or the bar in the adjustments panel. There is no tick box for "transparency" such as there is in the gradient tool option bar so what am I doing wrong??

Photoshop :: Where Is Gradient Editor In CS6

Photoshop :: Gradient Editor

Dec 14, 2008

I have PS CS4 Extended and Vista. I am having problems with Gradient Editor. When I create a gradient and use the opacity stops they make the gradient bar transparent in the required parts, but it has no effect whatsoever on the image, nor on the bar in the adjustments panel. I feel there is some obvious solution, but it escapes me. Also, when I click on a preset like "foreground to tranparency", my image goes completely black..again, no transparency.

Photoshop :: Gradient Editor Disappeared...

Apr 29, 2009

I've upgraded from Photoshop CS to CS3 (been a user since ver 4) ... but I noticed that the Gradient Editor has disappeared. Well, I can open it up, but there's nowhere to edit the colour stops! It was DEFINITELY there and usable in version CS, but when I opened the same file in CS (which is still installed on the pc), the Gradient Editor has also now lost the colour stop editor!I've tried looking for it in the palettes, looked for it in the Windows and View dropdown menus, double-clicked the Gradient button in the Toolbox, clicked on everything from the Gradient Toolbar, clicked on the top righthand arrow, clicked on the gradient swatches, but a big fat zip naadaa!Anyone ever experienced anything like this before? I'm wondering if I'd be better off just uninstalling and reinstalling everything and making sure I then also un-install the older version to make sure there aren't any conflicts, but I actually PREFER to keep CS available, just in case there are any problems in CS3 - such as this one. Unless, of course,

Photoshop :: Tinting Shadows With Gradient Editor?

Mar 17, 2013

I recently saw a presentation that spoke of tinting shadows on an image by converting to black and white, then creating a gradient map layer.  From there you went into the Gradient Editor and place the cursor directly beneath the gray scale, and starting from the black end, move it toward the white end until the arrow cursor changes to a finger pointer.  You then use the value in Location...

Unfortunately, every time I do this my cursor is ALWAYS a pointing finger.  I can put in color stops, but I don't believe that was what the technique used...  I've tried using alt, ctrl, and/or shift in all the combinations I can think of, but no matter what I do, I always get the pointing finger instead of the arrow cursor.

what I need to do differently to get the Gradient Editor to show an arrow cursor until I reach whatever point I should be at when it changes to a pointing finger?  Does it represent the darkest black in the image, or what?

Illustrator :: How To Fix A Gradient Down So It Doesn't Move After Cutting Object

Jul 22, 2013

How do I fix gradients within an object so that they remain where they are when the object is cut using the intersect paths tool, instead of the gradient fill being redistributed to the new object?

Also, how do I use the colour picker tool to pick a discrete colour within an object filled within a gradient, rather than it selecting the whole gradient swatch?

Illustrator :: How To Create A Blend Or Gradient That Doesn't Reach Edge Of Shape

Jan 29, 2013

I am creating a shape that looks like a pill a rectangle with two circles on the ends, if you will. But it's all one shape. I want a gradient or blend (what exactly is the differnce?) that has a white middle and dark gray edges. The white goes along the pill horizontally but the dark gray is above and below this white "line" but the rounded edges of the pill shape are the dark gray. I'm using CS6.

Illustrator :: Drag Global Color Swatches From Color Panel To Gradient Stops In Gradient Panel

Aug 28, 2012

I have CS5. The bugs and broken features in AICS6, make it unusable in my workflow.

I am specifically concerned about the inability to drag global color swatches from the color panel to Gradient stops in the Gradient Panel. I use this method to update a gradient color because I find it MUCH faster than option-dragging to duplicate a stop color, then deleting the unused stop. Since I do this constantly, I find using CS6 very tedious.

Photoshop :: 2D Gradient

Dec 17, 2005

Im looking for the name of a technique, tool, or plugin that will enable me to fade one image into another. I have two images, one of a day sky, one of a night sky, that I'm merging together, similar to this:

999887767788999
999887767788999

222334454433222
222334454433222

I need the 9 faded into the 2, the 8 faded into the 3, etc. I would use a Gradient Fill but it simply fills all the white space with a gradient from 9 to 2. Short of selecting a space 1 pixel wide hundreds and hundreds of times, and then filling with a gradient, is there something that will let me use a 2D gradient, as it were?

Photoshop :: Gradient Around A Path?

Is it possible to make a gradient over a defined path? For example from one end of an and-sign & to the other so that one is absolute dark and the other one white and so that this gradient is as if you would draw an and-sign with a pen constantly raising pressure on the paper so that it gets darker and darker?

It is for a logo in which one side should be really dark and the other one white.
