View 6 RepliesI have created an action script where I change the color of the objects in a photo and then have the action automatically save for web as a PNG-24 image. My issue is that the save for web continually overwrites the existing file at that location. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn ACA2012, we cannot use the Publish command to overwrite an existing DWF file of same name, for instance you publish a set, then need to re-publish and overwrite the earlier version. We get an error message that the DWF is currently open in another program...when it clearly is not open anywhere and Design Review is closed. We have several servers running different versions of microsoft server, but the results are the same to any of them.
We do NOT get an error message when publishing/overwriting to the C: drive, only a network path. Also, if we use the Print command instead of Publish, well it only does the current page but it DOES allow the networked DWF to be overwritten.
I am puzzled by what could be the difference in that Publish will not overwrite a networked DWF file yet Print will?
This has never happened to us in previous versions of ACA or Design Review.
I have an assembly as a template that was created by a previous employee. Â There are known variables that are controlled with an Excel spreadsheet.
What I am attempting to do is create a VB form that the user can input the known variables and then have the program open the template, perform the changes, and copy to the vault. Sounds easy enough. A few caveats:
If I store the template in the Vault (preferred), how do I perform a "Copy Design" with a VB6 program? If I store it on a hidden network drive, this prevents users from screwing it up, but then I have to open each indivual file and perform a "SaveAs". Also easy enough. But, since the previous employee linked each component of the assembly to the Excel file, I would need to perform a "Change Source" to the newly created Excel spreadsheet in each component. Not sure how that is done. I do have VB2010 Express, but just not as comfortable with it as VB6. (I know, get with the current .Net)
Trying to import images as dng and crashes my computer. It writes to a temp folder and cannot delete the temp folder bc there is error in writing to it. Mac OSX. Have done this many time with no problem. I can make adjustments inside the program and when I export the modified images to another folder it writes to a temp folder as well. but doesnt crash the system.

View 17 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS3, when an action tries to save a new file with a filename that already exists, it brings up a warning Dialog Box, which is very helpful to avoid mistakingly overwriting files. However it looks like CS4 does NOT ask, and simply overwrites, like much older versions of Photoshop. Is there any way to turn this dialog back ON?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am unable to use the file command open, new etc. I click on open and nothing happens no file box opens. As soon as you do anything else the program says not responding and you have to close it down. I can click on an autocad file in windows explorer and bring up the file this way but as soon as you try any file command such as save as the program freezes again. I am running windows 7 professional and the autocad LT 2011 64 bit program.

This problem has been present through all versions of Photoshop that I've used from CS2 to CS5.
I've gotten this a couple of times recently. Scratch is on a separate disc and large enough. This was a from a 2 x 2" document as I was trying to paste a smart object from Illustrator.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using CS6 for quite sometime with no much issues at all. All the sudden, today, without any changes being made in my computer (iMAC IOS 10.9) the software stopped opening files when I went FILE/OPEN and selecting the file to open (jpg). CS6 opens "finder" and then quickly the finder window disappears (so no time to make any selection,,this is not related to a type of file since...I can never get to even select one..) and the message "Could not complete your request because of a program error". The only option is to click OK and that is it.
Â
I now need to go and open finder and then navigate through to the file and the right click and choose Open with CS6 (anf the file opens)..
Working on a client job, I created a photoshop cs6 document. Now I can't open the document anymore. Program error message.I always make different versions when working on a job. When I have to make an important change I save a new version of my work. All the previous versions won't open either.
Â
I still have my Photoshop cs5 installed on my computer. Tried that and it worked. All the files open in cs5 but won't open in cs6.I remember taking some work home where I have cs4 running on the laptop.
When I tried to use file browser in PS7 this morning, it opened and, instead of showing the directory tree structure that I last left it in, it only showed the desktop with the + sign to expand that folder. When I click the + sign, I get the following error message:
"Could not complete your request because of a program error."
What could have happened and how can I fix this so I can use my file browser again?
I've upgraded to APE11 and now I receive the following message (everytime I insert my cameras' photo stick):"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
View 1 Replies View RelatedI occasionally use the option when saving an edited picture to just overwrite the original. I would have thought that this option might go further by having the program default of making the saved copy the the same size as the original or if its dimensions had altered save at the same resolution& degree of compression.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CS5 with all current updates installed on a Mac running Lion. I am having a problem with the handling of the camera raw format (specifically .arw) and how Photoshop handles the format.
Â
My first issue is that upon loading the format into Photoshop, the program is cropping a bit of the image from both the left and the right. I have not found a way to stop this from happening.Â
Â
Another issue is file size. A client is having issue with the file size presented. They are providing me an ARW file that is 14.8 MB and I am making edits and provided them with a large jpg from photoshop (jpg qaulity turned all the way up) and they are getting a jpg at 9.7 MB. They are concerned that I am giving them a less than quality result.
I know that any conversion from a camera raw format to a high resolution jpg will result in a lower file size and that has been explained however the client has taken the raw format parsed it through Mac Preview, saved it, and resulted in a larger file size than I could provide in Photoshop.Â
Â
This then becomes a confusing situation to handle.
Â
Questions:
a) How to explain the lower file size happening in Photoshop to the client (what is lost?)
b) Why they can use mac preview and get a larger file size that I can at full resolution jpg in Photoshop?
c) Is there a way I can make this client happy without moving to a tif file format?
d. Why is Photoshop cropping the .arw file?
While editing a photo in CS3 the program shut down and will not reopen my psd file. The error message reads "cannot complete your request because of a program error" -- it is a very large file (I have been saving it all along) and I had just "flattened layers" and went to open up a new, blank photo file when it shut down. Is there anyway to get this file to open?

I bought a software which comes with a camera auto-focus calibration chart. The manufacturer mentioned that this chart is generated by a vector base program so customers can ajust the size of chart without any problem. The chart file is in pdf format.
Â
When I use my Photoshop CS5 (on Windows 7) to print it from my Epson 2200 inkject printer, it only print the vector part without filling up the inside of the vectors enclosed area to black. Even the words in the footer are printed the vectors only (without fillup the word with black).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have successfully saved my file, shut down Photoshop without incident, and yet upon opening CS6 it starts opening the latest autorecovery file. I need to have autorecovery on for the work loss protection it provides, but it can get confusing to have an Autorecovery file open instead of the file I had meant to open. ( This is also happening on a colleague's computer.)
